    They played him well. He actually thought that Aussies who went to play Survivor would not know who he was and how he plays. And then goes out and plays like he always did. (That only worked when the other players didn't know who he was) His ego is his greatest flaw. He also never learned that relationships are the most important part to actually win.

    Russell truly is the greatest player ever. Who else can make it to the end back-to-back and then get a total of 2 jury votes? Who else can manage to convince a tribe of newbies to completely tank their own games and throw a challenge just to vote him out? Who else can go out wearing an idol around his neck? Only King Russell, the greatest player, could ever do that.

    He still managed to do what only one other person did, make it to the very end in two back to back seasons. Plus, not counting the WaW final three since the entire point was that the season was all former winners, only four other people made it to the end twice. Also let's be honest, the reason that Russell lost both of his seasons was because of a bitter Jury. They were more voting against Russell than they were voting for Natalie or Sandra. Let's be honest, HvV was Russell or Parvati's season to win.

  • @mrjollyguy25

    @@faultyvideos2215 Oh I partially agree. Anyone who says Russell is the best is wrong. Anyone who says Russell is the worst is wrong. He has fairly good challenge performance and is a MASTER of manipulation and strategy, building alliances and breaking rival ones, and hunting for idols. He's unfortunately atrocious at the more personal social game of forming genuine bonds and terrible at jury management. He deserves the credit for making it to the end back to back, especially in Samoa. He hustled to get his alliance to the finish line. He imploded in HvV though and tanked his alliance's chances at winning and he was seen as a goat. However, he doesn't deserve to win either season because he was too arrogant and came off like a bully when he consistently alienated others, causing the jury to be bitter towards him.

    @@mrjollyguy25 ill concede that perhaps Parvati should've won HvV, but Russell should've won Samoa. He fucking CARRIED that season on his shoulders! He and Shambo are the only reasons that Samoa is as great as it is. He objectively played the best game, managing to pull a Pagonging on a tribe that was double the size of his own come the merge. Natalie was nothing more than a goat and Mick was a terrible leader. The only possible threats to Russell by the final episode were Jaison and Brett, and he eliminated both of them, so that takes care of that. Like I said, they weren't voting FOR Natalie. They were voting AGAINST Russell. The jury was just bitter. Like Tina said way back in the Australian outback, the jury shouldn't vote for someone just because the other person fucked them over. But if Samoa and HvV are anything to go by, they did not listen at all.

  • @mrjollyguy25

    @mrjollyguy25

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@faultyvideos2215 Late reply, but yolo. Actually no I legit don’t agree that the jury was bitter in Samoa. Throughout the season the players were impressed with Russell‘s gameplay and kept saying he was a massive jury threat because of how he was leading his minority alliance to the end through strategy. They would have been more than fine admitting they got beaten by a skillful player because that player didn’t even betray them! Russell was completely loyal to Foa Foa. The Galus weren’t pissed about losing, they just straight up hated Russell as a person. If you’re on the jury, you’ve lost the game, and you get a say in who you’re gonna lose the game to. No one wants to reward someone they see as arrogant, condescending, and slimy, and that’s what they saw Russell as. They no doubt saw his tenacity and strategic brilliance and idol hunting skills and also his final immunity win over Brett, but at the end of the day, they still want to vote for someone they like. If Russell did all that but talked to people on a personal level, he would’ve won. But he didn’t. And Natalie built real relationships with them and laid it all out during that FTC, and much of it was edited out. Russell carried Natalie and Mick to the FTC, but Natalie was the one who had the correct read on the jury. She knew she needed to befriend them early in the game and then gave the right arguments in the FTC fully knowing how they were thinking and what they were looking for. Oh, let’s also give credit to Natalie for being pivotal in voting out Erik. She was using her bonds with the women of Galu to get the dominant alliance to fracture, which it did. That was Natalie’s only major strategic move, but it was vital to Foa Foa’s success. Russell did everything else.

    In my opinion, there are two main aspects of survivor that makes a great player. Strategic game, and social game. Russell was ahead of his time in terms of strategic gameplay but can’t seem to comprehend that social game plays the part of who wins. It’s very possible he could have won back to back US seasons if he had built relationships with the jury. But he is under the strange belief that the jury *has* to vote for the person who played the best game. It will forever be his downfall as he now has the reputation of being such a devious player

Being that said, I don't know what you are talking about, specially when you watch this season of Australian survivor and you notice that the Australian players do know who Russell is and why they decide to get rid of him as fast as they can.

    LMAO Russell thought he was the one playing everyone else, but *he* was the one who got played! He said that people all wanted to be in an alliance with him once he showed them the idol, but it's very clear now that *a majority* of them were clearly *pretending* to be in an alliance with him, making him falsely believe he was in control, and then voted him out (because let's be clear, if they're sure he's gonna play the idol, they don't vote for him and risk themselves going home. No, if you're sure someone is going to play an idol, you vote for someone else- almost surely an ally of that person. They obviously voted for him because they were confident he wouldn't play it, because they had brilliantly laid the groundwork for him to think he didn't need to)! No, they knew what they were doing. They were making him *think* he was the one running the show, feeding right into his belief, and then voted him out! And they did it *the right way* (they didn't throw a challenge to get rid of him), and the end result is that four of the final five were *their* members. And most important of all, the winner *and* runner-up (and third place for good measure) were members of their tribe! Russell thought he was the master of this game, but he got schooled by *true* champions (in Survivor *and* outside of Survivor! Congratulations to Olympic Gold Medalist *and* Survivor Champion, Shane Gold)!
