Jeff's best character trait is that HE HATES QUITTERS. I love how he never coddles them or tells them it's okay. He tells them straight up that they've wasted his time and the audience's time and that they've taken the spot of somebody else who really wanted to be there.

Can’t wait to see what he says about this season once it’s finished .. in my opinion the most pathetic season we’ve ever seen with zero challenge threats and only 1 or 2 social threats .. idk if it’s cuz of Covid, but I’m hoping they improve next seasons cast

Do you not understand jury are the numbers to decide a winner, If someone quits and they arent on the jury then numbers are off and can play a big roll in determining a winner

Personally, I think that the "BEN! OUT OF THE CHALLENGE!" incident is the only time that Jeff actually got mad. The rest I wouldn't even call angry! I'd say he was just disappointed.

I think that's because Jeff getting angry -- what you see is what you get. Jeff doesn't rage. He gets annoyed, which I think was the point of the compilation. He is always so even-tempered and on the fly always knows what to say. These are moments when you clearly see his mood shift. Never in all the years I've faithfully watched this show, have I ever seen Jeff's "anger" get past these points. This is as mad as he's ever become with the show and the contestants (on camera).

I like Jeff’s brutal honesty sometimes, but the Courtney thing was out of hand and a mistake on his part. She was on Boston Rob’s alliance, and just because she isn’t as good at physical challenges does not make her less of an asset to the tribe. Sometimes being a loyal vote, being tolerable around camp and just not causing trouble is more valuable than physical strength.

She was not a fan of the show but got recruited purely because she was hot, under the promise she will be voted out early and get a free vacation. She didn't really know what she was getting into and obviously ended up making it way further than the production anticipated and because she was meant to be the season's eye candy, she was the only one not given adequate clothing. Meaning, she had to endure the Nicaraguan storm season, possibly the worst Survivor season ever in terms of weather, in a bikini and a sundress. She wasn't even allowed to put on warmer clothing at night meaning she couldn't sleep as it was damn near freezing. It's a miracle she made it as far as she did. If there should be any anger surrounding her quit it should be aimed at the production because that was all their doing. And don't forget they got mad at her for quitting and decided to make her into an example and pretty much edit her out of the show, the few times she is on screen she is either partially blocked or just made to look like a fool. And all of that because of a situation they themselves created. They cast her to fail and when she didn't fail and actually made it quite far, they got surprised that the girl they didn't give any clothes couldn't take the fact that she doesn't have any clothes no longer and they decided to humiliate her.

To be fair, it wasn't really Probst who was angry but the tribe. And Varner apologized. I mean he felt horrible, you can tell during the tribal council, and his messages on twitter after the episodes airing (He apologized for his actions before the episode aired and apologized afterwards once more.) He knew he was gonna get backlash no matter how many time he apologized, and it wasn't even a malicious attack on Zeke. It was not right to say it, but i still feel he had no malicious intent when saying it. (And i mean, Zeke did forgive him.)

My favorite angry Jeff moment is when Fairplay showed up to tribal council drunk. He only lets it show for like a second but the face he makes right when he first realizes it is just livid and fantastic.

I don't remember that (although I believe you when you say it happened), my memory of old Survivor seasons has faded. And I can't remember if there was an on screen moment with Fairplay that could have fit in this video. But, I know for sure if you asked Jeff Probst what Survivor he has hated the most across every season it would be Fairplay with no hesitation. Jeff despises him and his bullshit, and I believe has said publicly Fairplay will never be invited back as long as he has a say in it.

Yeah, Jeff asked him if he was "loaded", which Johnny agreed to. There was another moment with the two of them, and Johnny had some smirk, and Jeff wanted an explanation. Johnny's answer was clearly annoying to him.

Jeff's sass towards Colton makes me laugh so much. Jeff stated that Colton actually faked his sickness so he quit twice.

The thing that I love about Jeff is that no matter how mad he gets, he never goes into full blown rage. The worst he gets is raising his voice, but you can tell just by his body language how pissed he is.

The worst thing about the double quit is that the quitters got to join the jury. Not only that, their presence on the jury changed the final result. The only reason that doesn’t bother me more is that Chase was such a jerk whereas Jud was merely a doofus.

Forfeiting the prize money that goes along with whatever placement they end up leaving at would be a fair penalty, I think, and of course they should also forfeit the privilege of casting a jury vote.

I think a lot of the people who quit over the years (not everyone but most) it was because they couldn't see themselves winning anymore and decided why am I still here. They already do that if you reveal who won the game before it airs.

Watching Courtney explain to Jeff how Survivor works during the 20th damn season of this game is so funny. He was so biased towards his BR that he allowed that to cloud his understanding of the game, and his role as host during part of that tribal council. Courtney is absolutely right, and informs Probst in a way he couldn’t manage in that tribal- professionally. lmao

How he treated Osten still upsets me. The man sold his clothes on the first day at the village and went that long with no shirt that he got a staph infection. If he didn’t quit, Osten probably would’ve been medically evacuated.

To be fair, the attack zone had to be the most poorly conceived and thought out rule I've ever seen when it was first introduced. It allowed players inside the zone to contact players outside of it without the player outside being able to do anything. You can see people take advantage of it by reaching forward and the people outside the zone responding instinctively. When they introduced it again in All Stars you can tell production realized the issue and made it so contestants had to do a stand off. It was more a production messing up on conceiving the challenge than the contestants purposefully breaking the rules. Edit: Also, gotta push back on the idea of Purple Kelly deserving flack. What they don't show, but was revealed in interviews, is she is the only contestant that was given literally none of her other clothes. No rain coat, no anything. So unlike everyone else, she was essentially surviving one of the worst seasons to date in terms of weather, with only a swimsuit. If you know anything about Survivor, they aren't shy about some of the female contestants being eye candy (same with the male contestants to be fair). It's hard not to draw the conclusion that she wasn't given her extra clothing to enhance that. So when you add all that context, it's actually fairly amazing she made it as long as she did. To me Naonka deserved FAR more flak than Kelly.

Agreed. I liked Naonka as a character (on a season that was pretty mediocre, but then again it also followed one of, if not, the best seasons of Survivor ever) but her quit annoyed me way more. Thinking about Purple Kelly still upsets me and Jeff was such an ass about something that could’ve easily been avoided on production’s end.

That was survivor cook islands. Just after Penner mutinied and joined the other tribe. Was that his second time on survivor though? I thought it was his first time. The incident was when the two tribes were in a challenge and had to drop cannon balls from their boat into a target below their boat. Penner kept missing the mark and Jeff said something to which Penner replied with the sarcastic “ Oh pleaaaze! “

Courtney is just f***ing hilarious. I love it when she calls him "Jeffrey." He always lets a little narc rage cloud his face when she does. Survivor is a social deception game. The deprivation and suffering makes the weaker minds try to virtue signal, trying to find meaning in their suffering. It is vanity. The biggest adversary in the game is the game. Throwing immunity challenges, and telling Jeff Probst anything substantive in Tribal Council are self-defeating. The game enables psychologically unhealthy people and inflicts them on people susceptible to abuse. In Gabon, the game actively interferred with dominant players, isolating them outside their alliances, chiefly through a delayed merge. Even Rob Mariano, regarded as one of the greatest players, was a totalitarian about social interactions. The price of being in his alliance was allowing him to play the game for you. Probst is a control freak, and admires that quality in game play.

I'd say not as he actively dislikes Russel Hantz who's even more of a dictator than rob rob at least understands the game well enough to correctly predict who the biggest goats would be on day 1 & had the skill & charisma to convince his alliance to agree to his buddy system Russel meanwhile has such a fundamental lack of understanding of the social game that even now in 2021 he still fails to understand why he lost robs ometepe alliance ADORED him yes it's true that he made it clear at the merge vote what would happen if anybody stepped out of line but at the same time he not only fostered the us vs them mentality but also was smart enough to realize that he shouldn't participate in those antics also do you really think it was easy for him to put up w/ Phillip or to keep his alliance from booting Phillip hell even at ftc both Natalie & Phillip sung his praises they didn't make a pitch as to why they deserved the million they just endlessly praised rob rob unlike Russel has charisma & can persuade people to do things they don't want to do like when he convinced Ben to tell him who was bringing up his name as a target in the premiere of waw also notice how the sele tribe didn't even MENTION him as a target in that premiere outside of danni they were all scrambling to figure out who to vote out 1st & yet it didn't even occur to them to vote out the most famous player & biggest threat who also had his wife in the game on the other tribe

Both men have no respect for their targets, and even less respect for their alliance members. It is ridiculous to be sentimental or posture as morally superior in the game. Character does matter though when you go out of your way to be cruel. The production bears responsibility for this. L'il Hantz was profiling as a religious psychotic serial killer, AND THEY BROUGHT HIM BACK. Randy and Corinne were sociopaths in Gabon, and production interfered with the game out of embarrassment. I felt sorry for Sugar, who should not have been abused like that, game or no.

Jeff explaining the game over and over and over. This is how I feel every single week in kindergarten

First, Probst never “lost” it. He was actually a model of self-restraint under the circumstances you showed. Second, I have always admired the fact that he doesn’t allow the game, or the people in it, to run it. His responsibility is to manage this game, and he has done that remarkably well. Third, he is very decisive when necessary, often so under circumstances of ambiguity, which is also admirable, in my view. Fourth, Jeff has demonstrated the courage to address tough issues head-on, and with compassion and honesty. Finally, he’s not afraid for people to see his own humanity. His non-sterile, non-clinical approach to managing the game brings an always welcome element. Jeff “makes” Survivor, just as do the contestants.

Let's not forget the fire-making challenge (I forget which seasons or the two ladies) but it went on for a good hour or so, until they eventually went to matches, and still --- one of them ran out of matches, also. Probst was so pissed.

If I remember correctly, Probst has since admitted that production messed up that night. Yes, the players were inept as we saw, but something about the setup made fire almost impossible. (I could be wrong)

The first time that I remember seeing "angry Jeff" of "fiesty Jeff" was in Thailand when he came back from the voting booth....pissed. He said, "For the first time I have no idea who this vote is for. Who wrote Bye-Bye Denver Diva?" Enough with the nicknames.

When Varner outed Zeke, Jeff basically kicked him off the show, didn't even give the tribe a chance to vote

Jeff was out of line when he went after Courtney. Meanwhile I got to thinking, what if Purple Kelly was like, "You know what? I'll stay," after NaOnka quit. Honestly, if she would've done that and played it up like it was her power move to get someone else to leave the game on their own, that would've been amazing. Oh well.

I agree about the Courtney thing. Out of anything ever in Survivor history.. the show's infatuation with Rob, who I really like, but feel flash know that one show was tailored for him to win pair. But that comment towards Courtney who I really didn't like was absolutely not right.. Considering all the players and all moves or lack of they've made,

@@ariellee2329 I heard something like that, that the producers decided Kelly was their "hot girl" for the season so they took her clothes away so she had to walk around in a bikini the whole season. Which is why she walked.

During the NaOnka-Purple Kelly Double Quit, you could actually feel the anger in Jeff's voice.

“We brought a quitter back.” That’s not at all how One World was edited, so that comment made producers and casting look bad more than anything.

It was revealed after the season ended that, while Colton did have an illness, it wasnt severe to remove him. I’m not sure why the episode didn’t reflect this, but thats why people view Colton’s exit in One World as a quit and not an evac.

It came out later that Colton faked his appendicitis in One World. It’s not in the clip but in that episode I believe Jeff brings that up.

I like how he will ask certain questions during tribal, almost calling someone out. His questions are so good!

That last part, damn. If someone constantly yelled about how bad I was doing while I was struggling, I would sit down and cry.

Wow he was so rude to Courtney, I’m glad she stood up to him. I felt bad for Kelly and Osten, who I felt had legitimate reasons to leave. Also the attack zone was so poorly thought out so it makes sense how people kept messing it up.

I know. That attack his own pierre-pierre what a Croc. And the worst moment situation ever was the Courtney. With precious Rob, who I love, but obviously favored and tailored to win in the one season.. and shooting at Courtney, was wrong paired. No matter how bad a person might be. We all know Survivor. Bad stupid week whatever, moves forward or backwards or even wins. We all know it.

I didn't find his questions to be rude just as much as I didn't find any issue with her answers. Jeff doesn't know everything that went on in that tribe and likely misunderstood.

How'd you miss when Zeke was outed on national television and Jeff kicked the scumbag responsible out of the game without a vote. I feel like he held his composure, but he was really, really angry.

The audio out of sync was mildly annoying but what was more annoying was the constant volume changes.

He was kind of rough with Danielle too at that tribal where she broke down and provoked Russell's wrath by highlighting her own connection with Parvati in a moment of weakness. She was pretty much dead money to win but Probst basically knocked her out of the game then and there when she was well on her way to at least final five otherwise and possibly FTC.

He definitely handles his anger very well lol

Jeff is undoubtedly the best host on Reality TV. EVER! And those dimples....still get to me after twenty years!

I’m confused by the scene w Osteen if someone who watched the season would mind adding context. He seems mad that he’s quitting but he also seems mad that he would stay and take someone’s spot. That seems a little contradictory? But again I don’t have full context. Jeff’s commentary to Courtney was completely unnecessary and disrespectful, and I don’t think he would’ve done that to a male player or even the outspoken women on the tribe. Courtney made a final, this is not be the best tribe member race, it’s survivor and that’s what she was good at. He should’ve have that energy at Russell or even Parvarti who were responsible for the decision, but he didn’t want that hit and picked on who he thought wouldn’t say anything.

@@emmas3367 I feel like this should be the only show that is gentler with quitters, obvious exceptions being vindictive quits like Colton, bc you truly can’t prepare yourself for living in an outside environment 24/7 esp when there are unpredictable weather changes like constant rain. It’s severe, Purple Kelly had now way to sign up and be prepared for being refused proper warm clothes, ya know? It’s not like other shows where you are in a comfortable house having fun, you can be so miserable on survivor that it damages mental health. Maybe I’m being soft but that show’s weather conditions make quitting understandable, you’ve got to have a real will

It is very hard to be a good ref, and Jeff is one of the best.

Only time Jeff doesn't hate Quitters is when they're being medi-vacced or when they're rushing home to a family member in crisis. Respect.

"How dare you figure out the optimal way to do this challenge!" Like they didn't fall into the coconut chop trap of pissing everyone off, good on them

"I got the message brother. I'll go when I'm ready." Classic line by Jeff! Showing exactly who is in charge.

I'd be pissed about quitters too. They go through a lot of work to find competitors, and these guys quit just in time to stay at the resort for a while.

After Colton was pulled from the game, word reached Jeff Probst that he did not have appendicitis; they may have mentioned the bacterial infection, but he was left with the impression that whatever Colton had, it probably wasn't serious enough for him to be pulled from the game. Probst hadn't watched One World since it aired, and forgot that Colton's heart rate shot up when the medic touched him. He was consequently left with the impression that his first exit had been a quit-which, considering Colton's general attitude while on the show, was not hard to believe at all. The good news is that Colton seems to have genuinely grown as a person since appearing on Survivor. He did a Reddit AMA a couple years ago and he was a lot nicer than he was back when he was on Survivor.

I haven't watched the whole video, but the time he hold Shannon to shut up after questioning a guy's sexual orientation definitely belongs in here.

I was just going to post that! Shannon Elkins, the Nicaragua season. It was the finale/reunion and Probst gave him a chance to make-good on all of his homophobia that he displayed on the show. I think Jeff simply asked him during the finale: "Are you homophobic?" hoping to give him a chance to just make it right. But when Shannon said the words, "Hey if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck--" Probst cut him off at the knees and says he's done, and refused to give him any more camera time. He was never spoken to the rest of the time on the finale, and the camera never went back to him at all. I don't know if I'd call that anger, but it was certainly a moment where Jeff stood his ground, and rightly so, not to give any more attention to someone who doesn't deserve it.

I forgot about the Dan situation honestly (blocked it from my mind because of how mad and uncomfortable it made me), but now seeing the way women who spoke up about Dan were voted off/dismissed by most of the other tribe, and the fact production and probably Jeff (though I am happy he said something at tribal I think he should've done more sooner, since it didn't seem to be an issue for the team until he was bugging crew) allowed him to stay so long makes me angry all over again.

Jeff is the MASTER! I am always "in his corner" rooting him on when he gets mad at quitters or at bad play, etc.

Jeff Probst, the ultimate Dungeon Master.

The thing with quitters is once it happens, others also get enticed to do same. It makes the game less fun if the survivors have quitting on their mind.

Problem is that these guys know they are in tv. They know what the game is like. They should know how intense the game is. They should have watched other videos on how the game is BUT those quitters quit. 🤦🏿‍♂️. It’s like yea imma join the marines while you know you don’t have it in you. People!

Yep, It was between that and the boston rob aftermath for HvV. Jeff sure hates to see his favorites get voted out, which is probably why we got redeption island and edge the following all star seasons

I have been watching this series since the very first season, and have never missed an episode. If I was at work, I still watched it, recorded from an old VCR, then an old DVD recorder, and up until today with a PVR. I am one of those people who can say I've seen every single show. However, when I look back at a lot of these moments, I've forgotten so many people! I also can't remember where they were or what season it was. I do remember some of the more memorable moments such as Colby refusing a plate of food, Colton quitting twice, NaOnka's bad attitude. But as for the rest of the people--I simply don't recall. It's as if I could just pull some random season and watch it all over again and still be surprised over what ends up happening.

Jeff is such a nice, calm, charming, soft talking guy, so when he gets angry, you know you really f*cked up lol

I can't believe I've never seen it before: when Ben trips Russell Swan, it's in retaliation for a cheap shot: Swan basically rams into Ben while the ball is in the air and Ben isn't looking. Say what you want about Ben, but that trip was warranted. Clip is at 5:10.

I Love Survivor l have watched every single episode. I look forward to it coming on every year. As far as Jeff ❤️🏆. Survivor wouldn't be survivor without Jeff.

When Varner outed Zeke Jeff was definitely upset/mad just threw him out of the game no vote.

Love Jeff Probst. Like he is the one in my mind who made the show what it is. He is the face and he makes sure he lets every watcher know it.

If you decide to make another one of these.. The time Dan compared being adopted to growing up with domestic violence. The entire Varner incident. The time Colby refused chocolate could be one of the funny add-ins at the end lol Edit: I originally commented this 8 months ago.. idk how I missed the colby/chocolate one at the end lmao

I'm so glad somebody else brought up the Varner incident. I remember watching that and wondering what was going on (I was still fairly young), and as soon as my parents explained everything, it made so much sense. I was so glad everybody agreed to get rid of him without so much as a vote.

I was in my early 20s at the time.. but I was really glad it went down that way bc, even though it was only like 10 years ago, at the time people didn't know as much about transgender people and imo the world was WAY less understanding and supportive as it is now (even if we still have a long way to go).. I'm just glad that the entire room, including Jeff, were all so understanding and, rightfully, pissed off. Emotional, even. Idk I just feel like it's a little harder for older people to grasp bc they grew up in a different world. I just tend to find myself a lot more shocked when young people are unsupportive than when older people are I guess.

Making a quieter cry is just great on every level.

Coltens first quit was definitely not a medical emergency, the doctors said he was fine to continue, bro just made it up so he could leave

i think there are only 4 moments when jeff got real mad 1. when he kicked ben browning out of the challenge 2. when colton quit (for his second time) 3. when varner outed zeke 4. to quote dan "SINCE YOU WON'T LET IT GO" any other time is just jeff being his sassy jeff probst self

I honestly don’t care if Jeff had a few bad moments, he is still a very good host and Survivor would not be the same without him, one of the reasons I watch the show is to see Jeff and smile, thinking how things would change if he weren’t the host of Survivor

Coming at it from a casual viewer standpoint and someone who knows what goes into producing shows, I can understand why Jeff gets so mad at quitters. I can only imagine how much work goes into finding contestants, matching them up, getting challenges set up, and then when people up and quit it is a smack in the face. I can understand people needing to quit for medical reasons, direct or indirect, but that is different than outright quitting since it got too hard. I am not denying this show is not hard, you see it in the contestants over time but it is also not like this show sprung up yesterday and this is all new and unknown either. Just my $0.02 on it all but I like Jeff not being scared to speak his mind. That is what makes shows like this work 👍.

People should know that they are getting into. This isn’t a day at Disney world 🤷🏿🤦🏿

Other than frustrated outbursts, the only time I really see Jeff get mad is when people put others in danger by breaking the rules or being dirty. If someone gets really injured during a challenge, that changes what kind of challenges they can do and also it will affect the viewers if they have to keep the challenges toned down because someone was a playing dirty. The one guy who choked the other one should've been kicked off all together and same with the other one who kicked that one player in the leg.

Clay getting choked is probably the funniest moment in Survivor history. I remember rewinding it over and over to hear that "Urgh!" noise he makes over and over
