Red Velvet Irene's Bad Attitude Accusations

Ойын-сауық

Let's talk about Irene and the accusations made about her character and personality. Recently, a stylist that has been in the industry for 15 years has come forward with a story that painted Irene as mean and harsh. Though Irene was not mentioned by name, fans were quick to come to the conclusion that she was the subject.
“Today, on location somewhere in “Eul”, I was thoroughly stepped on and done over by one person. Even before I met her, I heard from others that I needed to be mentally prepped to meet her. Today, I was at the brunt of the electric needles shot by her, and lost my words. I stood still as if my hands, feet and brain were tied up. I became a fool as I could not do anything in front of someone that was looking at me with such distaste while shuddering, I was hit by the endless knives she threw at me with her tongue and so I cried. I couldn’t be bothered with caring about who I was in front of, and just couldn’t contain my tears.”
We have also seen many others in the industry come and seemingly like the post as well, showing a potential history of such behaviour. Today, I want to talk about all of this as well as my own thoughts and share yours as well.

Honestly you're just adding fuel to the fire. You're making opinions out of incomplete and unreliable information. That in itself creates so much misunderstanding. A lot of those accounts and comments have been proved to be fake. Stylists and staffs who have worked with irene for years had come to her defense. I'm not erasing the fact that she did something wrong, in fact, she apologized for it, but if it were a frequent occurrence, these people who's with her for years wouldn't bother to put their names and professions at stake just to defend her. The fault was at both ends but you're all so quick to throw rocks at her for what? For being mad at the stylist's incompetence and negligence that affected their whole performance? This is too unfair. Some of y'all just want to hop on this bandwagon hate. You never cared for her before, i wish it stayed that way. None of you even knew about the issue until she apologized. She blamed no one, she never hid behind her company, she personally and publicly apologized and owned up the her actions. No idol could do such a bold and mature move, others would have let the issue down and hide. But she has a strong individuality and personality very rare from the idols.

@@coffeecat3166 It’s okay to have an opinion. You have an opinion that she was adding fuel to the fire but clearly many people here did not. I’m not a reveluv but I still have an opinion on this topic. I’m not sharing my opinion right now because personally, I don’t want to be a part of any childish arguments or create fan wars. I don’t hate Irene for doing something wrong. Everyone makes mistakes and by my judgement, her mistake didn’t affect me. Her apology wasn’t directed towards me. This entire situation has nothing to do with me. But, that also means that it has nothing to do with you either. The only people who should really be involved in this are Irene and her stylist. If you are so quick to tell off people who are interested and having a discussion about this issue because you think they are going to hate Irene for making a mistake, I urge you to please think about your own hypocrisy. Just because You are a fan of Red Velvet doesn’t mean that you can be a part of this and no one else can. There are plenty of people here who are not reveluvs and they still have an opinion on the topic. I’m not saying that you can’t have an opinion, I’m saying that you are telling people that they shouldn’t have an opinion on an idol’s situation if they are not fans of the idol. Now, I don’t believe Irene is a bad person, or that she isn’t regretful for her actions. I simply wanted to point out what I thought about your statement and to have a discussion without creating an argument. Have a good day/night.

Speaking as a Korean, foreigners, don't stand up for Irene. Gapjil is a very sensitive and strict problem in Korea. Koreans never defend and accept bossy. This is certainly something to be criticized for. Irene also acknowledged and posted an apology on SNS (although it is very insincere). Sometimes, comments say that she is good to the staff, which means that she has discriminated against according to her standards. Well, it's true that there's a victim anyway, but what's the difference in that defense? Irene screamed all sorts of bad words for 20 minutes. The victim is 40 years old. She has 15 years of experience as an editor. What on earth did you hear in those 20 minutes, even though you've been watching everything in the industry, you've given up your career and posted it on SNS? I can't even imagine. So please, foreigners, don't unconditionally defend Irene and face the reality. Of course, it would be wrong to criticize Irene for a separate matter. But this is certainly something to be criticized for. Celebrities are never superior to ordinary people. Is it okay for Irene to overuse her power on the staff? Apart from that victim, countless victims are already posting on SNS. Understand the atmosphere of Korean society first before protecting Irene unconditionally. Gapjil is an act that will never be accepted in Korea! Gapjil : To collectively refer to unfair practices done by those who have the upper hand in power to those who are weak in the relationship of rights.

Isn't it suspicious for you that this accident happened before everyone knew that 30 people died from new vaccine? Don't you think it's suspicious that the stylist/editor opened her private account just for this case? Isn't it suspicious that in editor's last statement he/she said that "Irene has already apologized before I posted this, I made that in order that she gave public promise that she won't do this again. And she even didn't yell at me, she yelled on someone else"? Didn't editor get confused with his own words? Moreover, even if Irene yelled, isn't it suspicious that she/he recorded it as he/she knew about that? And remember that they had problems on the concert (changing dresses, problems with earphones which might have caused serious trauma), wouldn't you be naturally angry about that? AND Personally, I believe more people who have worked with her FOR YEARS or pretty long period of time (for example, Damiani editor, dancers, stylists, dorama stuff, even someone from China and Indonesia) not just 1-2 days at all. And , after all, yes, she might behave unprofessional, but hasn't she already apologized and even wrote the statement before SM? She might have hide behind her company but still, she spoke first and even didn't tell her side of story. From this situation, I learnt only one thing: Irene is very mature person, and I hope when she comes back ,she will shut up haters' mouthes and continue to work as part of Red Velvet because 5-1=0

Sm is a pretty big company and they would never apologize if there is no “evidence”. SM never acts that quickly to apologize on something. They are not that stupid. In the past if someone accused their idols on something that is not true SM would have sue them immediately. But they clearly know how serious this is and if they don’t apologize or act quickly, the stylist will reveal the recording file that has Irene’s voice in it and we can all hear she was dissing the stylist. It would definitely destroy her career as a Korean Idol. Irene definitely messed up this time. This is such a childish behavior. She is almost 30 years old and she has been an idol for 6 years. She should learn how to respect others, especially the stylists because they are the one who help her to always look perfect on stage. Again I know everyone makes mistakes. But guys come on this isn’t the first time though. There are other stylists, photographers, staff members in Irene’s movie also agree that she shows attitude before. Imagine if the stylist don’t expose her? I’m pretty sure Irene would never feel sorry for her behavior since this aint the first time. This would be a big lesson to her.

Imagine what horrendous things she said to make someone who has had so much experience in the industry (be it with idols or staff) cry. Also a lot of other staff members liked her post and even some verbally supported her. Also it's said that someone even recorded the whole thing and after SM was notified about it, quickly went into action and apologized (and obviously made Irene apologize as well). Honestly Irene's apology is "fake" for me... If she even care about what she did, she would apologize the same day (after calming down) or the next day. This just shows that she didn't even think of it as something big enough and only apologized now that it blew up. Shame on anyone who still "defends" her by calling it a "bad day" or a "mistake"...

Ok, so according to our philosophy module arriving at truth is a complex process. And we are taught to view the situation in both holistical and partial perspective. Ok so in holistic perspective let us give indention to this stylist. Being yelled in front of her coworkers for 20 minutes(?!) you say. Well it scars. Imagining doing your job and be put in spotlight with many people. Its her right to voice out her feelings. Now let's move on to the partial perspective, where Irene, the stylist, and all around people around them are involved. Why did Irene get mad? Probably because the stylist didn't do her job right or let's say she did but still it didn't satisfy Irene's needs. And let us put in the saying, "Maybe she is having a bad day." Everyone does sometimes. Is it wrong to get mad? Well, yes. Because this society wants us to be good when in fact themselves aren't. And how about those people around them, what they are doing? Watching Irene scold the stylist for 20 minutes straight(?!) Like for real 20 minutes of scoldment yet no one dared to act? Let's say there are afraid. But everyone have the right to stand up for themselves. It is for free. Yes the stylist did but not in the moment. Why do we delay the our reaction if we could have acted at the moment? And we are all bad people. There is no good here. There is just kindness in this cruel world and that is a choice. Why are you all making this a big bad thing? Just because it is Irene, the face of Korea, a member of Red Velvet. What? To show that she is not that goody two shoes, ReveLuvs deems her to be? Have you ever taught that in her 30 years of living she only chose to be mad for a few moment? Aren't you gonna consider that? And how about you getting mad with a person? Have you considered the person's feelings? Don't point out other people's mistake and wash your hands like you haven't done it for your whole rotating life. Reflect and meditate people. Ps. This existentialism is fckin hard

Okay here some facts if anyone is still confused about this situation: - Irene was rude/mean to the stylist and made her cry - Stylist made a statement about her WITHOUT mentioning her name but Irene admitted that she is the person the stylist is talking about - Many sm employees and other people liked that post - Irene & SM released an apology

I've seen some comments saying the stylist who made the statement, in the past also often had a beef with other idols? I saw someone saying the stylist accused sulli on doing something but I also am not sure about it, just saw a comment// Well I'm confused because of that comment i mentioned, but it's quite interesting that also it is seen that the stylist's account had once posted a picture admiring Irene visual, but later deleted the post. Well It's a bunch of stuff, since there's also people saying SM staff is also defending Irene in her apology post, but imo SM didn't handled this situation correctly :/ Like, I only got across instagram just to see Irene apologizing on someone, and I don't know the whole situation if I didn't searched youtube lol

Speaking as a Korean here. As a person who second-hand experienced gapjil from a kpop celebrity, I want to say that "gapjil" is a very bad behavior in Korea. And when I mean bad, I mean if you do gapjil, you are pretty much hated for the rest of your career. My friend was a victim like the stylist. My friend had to suffer from depression for 2 years because some stupid kpop celebrity gapjiled her. My friend suffered because of that one kpop celebrity. My friend quit her job and suffered mentally for 2 whole years. I don't know what's wrong with people who are shielding Irene, but think about it. If your friend or family member was a victim of gapjil, will you still be shielding that celebrity? If the answer is no, stop shielding Irene. As an ex-Irene fan, I am deeply disappointed in her actions and I am absolutely not going to tolerate this behavior. It is ridiculously disgusting and unethical.

My best friend is a fan of Irene and we had an argument about this. She told me Irene was wrong but if she had her face she would feel fine to act the same. Since when how beautiful one is can be a justification for one's rotten behavior? I feel sad that so many people still defend Irene in this way, or saying she was just "having a bad day", especially when she has received so many backlashes from involved people or people who have worked with her since the post went published. And she said sorry, why would someone who didn't do anything wrong say sorry? Which side of the stories do you guys still need to listen to when the victim has spoken up and the accused has explained and apologized ?? No matter who you think she is, she may not be the person you are "familiar with". What's on the camera should not sum up every facet of one's personality and how they actually deal with real situations, because most of the things on camera is set up and planned and cut out. Take everything you see with a grain of salt, and always be prepared that your favorite showbiz people might not be your ultimate role model.

Bismillah Hir Rahmaa Nir Rahim hmm, you only sorry when you got caught. Ever heard this line before? I am not red velvet fan or hater or anything. This story kinda pops up out of nowhere on youtube or google search, i forgot which recommendation. I am not perfect and I am a sinner. But I am also a spectator. First it was Jimin who got exposed, now it was Irene who got exposed and who's next on the list? when the fans blindly defended and justifying the actions that says it all, there's something wrong with the fans. If someone you love do something wrong or make mistakes towards another person you defended and justify their actions but when your loved ones got hurt by others you just bash on the other party because they are nobody to you which is a joke to me. Your loved ones can hurt others but you can't stand when your loved ones got hurt? People make mistakes, yes, but is the apology only needed when you got caught? I am not a good person myself but i do know people can change but not MANY can change. I saw many people who just doesn't change at all, only very few that did change but that is very rare. I am not attacking or defending Irene, i am here just merely stating facts that are true and as a spectator i am just pointing out my opinions. take care. Whoever read this have a good day or night. Edit: I just copy and paste my own comment so people get my message , also I don't understand the part where the fans forgave her and defended her when the one who's hurt not you. I am used to toxic environment and I can't stand up for myself because I am weak and powerless nobody. So I understand from the victim's point of view but I also understand the abuser's point of view because they also need chance to change to be a better human being. Also the term like angel like or a being like an angel is funny because that says who you really are. Only judge others by their outer appearances. If someone is ugly, stupid, powerless, poor, no names and nobody is okay to bash them. You only judge what they have and not who they really are which to me is no surprising things to me. I am living on real world while many of you live on fantasy world. A utopia. Real world is where the strong ones oppressed the weak ones, the rich ones doesn't care about the poor ones, the powerful ones abused the weak ones and the beautiful ones belittling the ugly ones. Vice versa also happens. But not all powerful ones, strong ones, rich ones and beautiful ones are bad people. There are few that are good people from among them. But that's very rare. I really hope people wake up to the real world so I am just copy and paste my comment everywhere to say that no one is perfect. Take care.

The idol just goes and perform in a give location for 1 day , but the crew members have a go their regularly and check things up so that everything goes as planned. A lot of people are still defending irene and putting down the staff that speak up ....and it's upsetting. The apology is not yours to accept its for those who were affected. But what you can do with this information is to reevaluate whether you yourself would like to keep supporting her or not and thats on your own judgement. (Doesn't mean to start bashing her) Also a perspective/opinion of mine to those who are defending the "its a bad day stance" again my opinion with the information available right now: even if she did even have a bad day and "unintentionally" made the stylist cry. If she was truly a good person she would have apologized a$ap rocky or even have apologized when she realized how immature she acted.

Yeah it's been upsetting to see people try to justify this. Also a lot of people of twitter have been making up things, falsely saying the stylist is a man, saying that this incident happened at a recent concert when it didn't, even trying to say Irene was set up and making a conspiracy theory. The incident was recorded, the fact that Irene and SM apologized let's us know that whatever was revealed on that recording backed up the stylist's claims. And as you said, even if someone has a "bad day", knowing that the stylist was verbally attacked for 20 minutes and started to cry... there's no excuse that Irene didn't know that she had hurt her with her behavior. That she only apologized after being called out shows that she never really cared enough in the first place.

And Irene even admitted it so her fans can't say "You don't know what happened" cause both sides agreed and the victim was very detailed in what she said. Other members were writing in long sentences very detailed and Irene herself filled everything out with like one word answers. Would any of you guys who are defending Irene now defend the stylist and say things like "She's human too", "She might have had a bad day" and such? I bet you'll be telling her to die, kill herself, kneel for an apology, etc instead. I didn't see even just one person defending Jimin when Mina talked about her being bullied and depressed coz of Jimin. Does the stylist need to be depressed and suicidal first too for you people to understand how wrong her actions were? Yeah, she didn't do anything wrong to us, but that doesn't mean she should not be scolded. It's normal for people to react and scold someone if the person does something wrong, even if you don't really know each other. Example is if you see a kid bullying another kid, should you tolerate it and let it go, thinking it's not your child anyway? Never tolerate bad behavior She WAS my bias but this is a total turn off, knowing it's not just one person and it didn't only happen once

This situation has nothing to do with us. We don’t even know why Irene was mad. People should not attack or cancel her, that’s just immature and hateful. I bet there were people who already hated her just looking for an excuse to do so openly. It’s sad. We DO NOT KNOW THE WHOLE SITUATION. I hate that everything has to be posted and put on social media, the stylist knew Irene would get TONS of hate and harassment. She knew that. I’m neutral. I’m not a part of the situation, but it all just seems so petty. It should have been kept in private. Someone’s image shouldn’t be destroyed. People nowadays are way too one sided on the Internet. People will use any reason to beat up, bully, and bash a person on the Internet. It is not okay to post every problem you have with someone and/or conflict on Instagram. I’ve never agreed with that. The issue does not involve us, so why did WE need to know? Why did a PUBLIC APOLOGY need to be made? It wasn’t for us to accept. It wasn’t our issue. It annoys me. Now it is not just the stylist against Irene, it is thousands of thousands of netizens against her too. Thousands of comments talking down on her and calling her things. NO PERSON DESERVES THAT. it’s ridiculous. Cancel culture is bullying in disguise. To be honest, the stylist endorsed that by posting what she did. She knew people would find out who she was talking about. And they did, right? She got what she wanted. Only blind people won’t see that that was the intention. One person yells at her so it’s only fair that a thousand people yell back at them right? And now everyone feels entitled to accept or reject an apology that wasn’t even fucking for them. Wtf? That’s how this unfair world works now. THE CONFLICT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSTED. OTHERS SHOULD NOT GET INVOLVED . They are both grown ass women, and the conflict should have been handled in a mature way with common sense. Not posted online for millions to see and judge aimlessly. Ridiculous.

I stopped fangirling to a lot of group male or female groups because of what she had told us.. So this is one of her story, There's this show that only irene attended, In between takes, she's making face and showing disrespect to the staff and sometimes to a hosts, when on air she's acting cute and all but when the cam is off, she's a devil with angelic face. And i remember one day, before issues popping out continously about this Irene girl, she already told us this "One day, i know her real attitude will be known to her fans and to the world and when that happens, a lot of people whom she mistreated will have justice. She has perfectly pretty face but that's only what she have" a lot of staff don't want to work with her but don't have a choice. She told us that don't believe what we see on tv. Because 99 percent of reality is off cam.

Here are my thoughts: *[Irene's stage presence]* This might be an unpopular opinion but I believe a huge part of being a kpop idol is maintaining a good image. You can be beautiful, an amazing singer, amazing dancer, and an amazing rapper but if you can't keep a good image you won't last long in the industry. In my personal OPINION, Irene does lack stage presence and she should keep a happier face. Before you instantly attack me for saying this let me explain. A kpop idol's job is an entertainer. People pay good money to attend concerts. Irene's job is to give a good performance and entertain those who attend. Stage presence is necessary. I'm not saying Irene doesn't have stage presence, she only chooses to give it when it's her turn. When it's not her turn she looks bored and doesn't give as much effort. Yall tried to cancel Jennie for lazy dancing but then turn around and defend Irene? And before you say I'm being sexist, I believe this applies to both male and female kpop idols. If you're a kpop idol, and you're not trying your best to give a good performance then you shouldn't be a kpop idol. *[Irene's attitude]* No matter what the circumstance was, there is no excuse to treat another human being poorly. Whether she was having a bad day or whatever. I highly doubt this was even a bad day. I believe this is just her personality. So many people who have been associated with Irene and who work in the kpop industry liked the post. The stylist was even warned before hand about Irene's attitude. Now obviously this kind of thing really isn't anything new. We probably stan a bunch of Celebrities who have a terrible attitude that nobody sees because it happens behind closed doors. But this doesn't make it okay at all. This is when a person in a position of power and fame wrongfully hurts others and gets away with it because nobody will speak up on what happened because they know it's not worth being attacked by millions of fans. In this case, the stylist did speak up and now we have more insight on Irene's true personality. *[In conclusion]* It's not our place to say "We accept your apology" because she's apologizing to the stylists and staff members she has hurt, not us. Neither Irene or the stylist should receive hate. We didn't witness it. We weren't there and we aren't involved. I personally think this should turn out just fine. Irene has already apologized both publicly and privately. We just have to take her word that she is improving and working on becoming a better person Thanks for reading all the way ^^

part of the korean beauty standards is to look doll like. this is why she doesntchange her facial expressions. notice hyunjin (loona visual) irene (rv visual) and many other visuals do this, its part of their stage style, theres people who love it and people who say it lacks energy and they have no facial expressions, korans like it, because its doll like. jpop idols, for example, are usually way more energetic and entertaining focused. thats it, its not that she lacks stage presence, its that her stage presence is not energy-based but more korean-beauty/doll-style-based. have a nice day!

There is no professional reason as why you would treat a staff member in such a poor way. If the stylist is bad at doing their job? Fire them, complain to your company, ask them nicely, but throwing a fit and screaming at them? Very unprofessional No reason justifies treating those who are below you like trash If you have a bad, the first thing you do is lash out on other people, you need to go to therapy to manage your anger issues, not try to justify your behavior Let’s all live in a world where we respect everyone ❤️ Ps: As I step back I realize that there is a possibility that while what the stylist said might totally be true true but there is also a possibility that there was another reason as to why she treated them like that. Maybe she tried speaking nicely and he insulted her so she lashed out? Maybe she already made complaints and no one listened to her? In any case We will never know the full story. This comment is then addressed to those who thinks that it is okay to treat people who are below you like trash, to those who justify this kind of behavior, not to Irene herself as I will never know what really happend As for myself, I will stop listening to her music cause this is what will put me at ease but whatever you do, don’t bully any of the two parts please

True. It takes a lot of courage to expose someone so popular. So now, the stylist is getting the hate forgetting the it is the stylist who had it so bad. Irene has fans to protect her. How about the stylist?

*NOBODY* knows their idols. Idols ARE not gods. Some people needs to learn that what they see is not what it really is. No one in any fandom know how their idol really act. And she made the right decision in addressing it herself. She was smart. There is more disappointment than anger.

Irene was not bullying her but yelling at her... there's a big difference between both..so be careful when you say something -We fans are not defending her for what she has done..but we are defending her against all the fake rumors spreading..she made a mistake she apologised for it first to the stylist personally and then to the public and the stylist accepted her apology -It was just one time incident...stop saying she have always been like that.. there's no proof that she have always been like that..so please don't believe that..the stylists liking that post doesn't prove anything unless you want it to be like that..how does it prove that she have been rude to them aswell..stop making up stories..stop twisting things to the way how you want it to be -there were many staffs who came up to defend Irene saying she is a nice person..all those who have worked with Irene for years -and I'm not trying to defend her but have you ever thought the reason why she might have yelled at her...do you think she's going to yell at someone simply....we don't know and we may never know..we don't know the whole story..but still from what we know..the fault is at Irene's side and she apologised for it -and please stop relying at fake sources like allkpop or koreaboo..they all took down their fake articles once sm said they would take action...so that proves that all the thing they have been writing is fake

And you might think I'm over exaggerating..but I'm not..I've been stanning her for long...and I atleast know her more that you non fans who are here to hate on her...but believe me she's an amazing person....someone who puts others first ...she may look cold outside but is such a warm person inside... someone who's kind and warmhearted...you might say this incident proves otherwise..but no ..it was just once..why would you mistake a single incident to someone's whole personality I don't know how else to prove this to you..but believe me she's not someone whom all those haters want her to be... she's an amazing person

@秋 Tons of ex and current SM staff liked the accusation, RV's backup dancers liked it and one of SM's former video directors tweeted that he's surprised it took this long for the truth to be revealed. Even a staff member for Double Patty (Irene's film she's starring in) said she was extremely rude during filming. And when the rumours started swirling that it was between either Seulgi and Irene, tons of staff came forward to defend Seulgi. Not one person defended Irene. So does Irene has bad days every day?
