Back when Oakland was a big budget team but then as the 90s went on salaries kept getting higher and they couldnt keep up.

This game I remembered quite well! I don't blame Roger Clemens because Terry Cooney was horribly inconsistent , but Roger had said some magic words ! Terry Cooney was NO ANGEL HERNANDEZ! I will say that much. Sad, however, in 2023, what has happened to the Oakland A's - my baseball team growing up thanks to their former AAA affiliate and hometown Tacoma Tigers. I want to say thank you for posting this video to let me watch my team back in their glory days in the late 1980's and early 1990's!

Watching these old athletics videos knowing what's going on now in 2023 and Las Vegas and the old Oakland stadium. It's sad

This game was traumatic for me being a 7 year old Sox fan. Seeing Rocket tossed for muttering, and the brooms in Oakland for the sweep 🧹

The A's last playoff series win until the 2006 ALDS.

As a Jays fan, i LOVED that moment when Clemens was ejected.. But I must admit, IT WAS BS. (I just didn't care and i was still cheering it on, lol)

The ball four call before Clemens ejection was a strike the one he called a strike before that was more of a ball. Bad call this ain't a regular season game in April you can't throw the pitcher out there.

I remember watching Roger Clemens on the Yankees never knew he got thrown out of a game earlier in his career.

Today November 16th 2023 what was mentioned at 24:53 and 2:23:09 came to reality. 33 years later after mentioning the A's moving it was confirmed move to Vegas for 2028.

​@@leifopstad2972 Pretty obvious he used the two words that prompt every ump to eject. CBS actually just about missed the whole thing, other than the slo-mo 'lip-reading' replay of Clemens. Too busy having Jim Gray tell us about Mike Gallego's 'lucky glove'. You just know NBC would have been all over it.

Damn, this makes umpires appear really thin skinned.
