I agree. Because Red Road King patrols alone, he most often would fight alone. I love the way Mohawk Avoca is training his sons, but until subadult Lions gain confidence, they sometimes flee fights.

RR looking great, although stiff in back end. Maybe from scarring. Somebody does claim, saw him have a confrontation with the S8 male. If it had been the BD, younger & 2 of them, surely he may have struggled against them. They've had some experience, judging by their scars. But so good to see his mouth healed. The Mbiri males, look as though their are older perhaps? Good to have your update, thank you 🤗🙋‍♀️

Fantastic video! I always enjoy seeing our handsome Red Road he is my favorite single lion. It was Red Road and Dark Mane were my 2 favorite single lions who have done so incredibly well protecting their large and beautiful prides. It broke my heart when we lost Dark Mane😢Red Road continue doing what you're doing because it working well, maybe he will consider at some point allowing a few of his sons to stay with the pride for extra protection as he gets older. Anyway, hope to see more of Red Road...

What happened to the Ngala raised YOUNG BIRMINGHAM MALE Whose dad was an original Birmingham male chased off as he was alone by the Ross brothers 5 to 51/2 years ago and the YBM stayed with the Ross brothers and had a hindquarter injury that healed and had a white sister who had cubs , She till four would go find him when the Ross dic.. ran him off , He had the Birmingham size and was extremely intelligent as a naturalist David w/GoodEarth stated , I believe he’s five or a tad more years now and was with the young Torchwood male , He took on a name Osindile I am sure , Either with the TW male or ? Wondered if he wandered over and if you Tristan have any knowledge ? That would be Ncile, once dominant with Mandavu, and Limbali. Now Mandavu is pride leader but Ncile is looking very strong now. He has a missing end of his tail also. He seems to be built a long the same lines as RedRoad. And his spirit is also the same in strength and determined will. Very Loyal creatures.

I've taken a second watch of some of RedRoads appearances, I really haven't noticed his snare scare before, like in this video, Thank God he recieved help to get out of thar mess! but those snares are nasty traps, ill volunteer to protrol certain areas for poachers, make no mistake about it, there would be know one hurting lions ! automatic Death penalty, on the spot! that pride male in the Tinswallow coalition really battled back from his snare, Thank God! what a warrior! sorry I butchered thier name,

two males together are the Mbiri Males sired by the Matimbas in the Mbiri Pride they're around 10, those two males control a satellite pride of the Birmingham Pride with the white lioness who have a cubs right now one is white alsp....

Any lone pride male is a target. By now, Red Road has probably a number of teenage daughters in the Nharu pride and he really shouldn't start mating with them. He's been lucky to get by without fatal injury for some years, though considerably injured in 2021 by Mandevu and Ncile, and threatened, injured since then by different males. He's got a mark on the right hip area, maybe it's a smudge of dirt. Even pairs and larger coalitions of males won't always last more than 2-3 years with one pride. All it takes is a serious hunting injury to one of the males, or a death, and another coalition will take the opportunity if they now have numerical advantage. He got beat up by maybe the Ross males in 2022, and they think it was SBlack Dams more lately. His situation is like OM's was, though RR has probably stayed within a smaller area than OM roamed with and without the Manghenis. The Black Dams haven't made up their minds completely yet, maybe, but might be after the Nkuhuma pride and the Nharu pride too. They used to be more south with the Talamat girls, who've been lately with the Nkuhuma male around Umkumbe and into Sabi Sabi, if I remember right.
