this sounds kinad like what they used to be in the 80s and early 90s (although now its so overproduced, sterile and clean). funk needs to be dirty! thats why studio funk like this or that uptown funk song sound inauthentic (everythings there except for the dirt and grit...without that you can not have funk )

IT really is an unfortunate circumstance to be in, and I do know that road, but I think it's a good idea to see it as a light at the end of the tunnel. Just more motivation to get through it and get better!

Their songs may be overplayed sometimes, but Red Hot Chili Peppers always hit the mark their music.
My cousin and I became fond of MTV back in summer 2007 just because of this song! I was 10, she was 12. Yesterday we went to a party where they put it, my cousin and I looked at each other and she screamed "DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THIS SONG?!", it hit me like a slap full in the face. Overwhelming, so many memories.
I see a lot of "stereotype" comments regarding this video. It has to be coming from "new" fans because this video is as ORIGIONAL funk from chilli peppers as anything they made in 80/90's when George Clinton mentored and produced some work of theirs (still mentor to this day to them ). Check the history before assuming they're "racist" or stereotyping. These guys grew up in the eclectic music/rap scene that is LA. SEE, people did and do get along before all this BS with race relations today. Media doesn't help either.

This used to be my nemesis song. So I put my guitar down and didn't listen to this track for years. Today I heard it and returned back to my guitar. And absolutely smashed it. Absolutely love this song again! #rhcp
People aren’t familiar with this thing in music anymore. It’s called FUN. It used to be OK to be fun in the 80s. Not taking yourself too seriously, Not trying to be too cool. Not pretending to be depressed like Nirvana and others played off, not pretending to be bad ass like rap unfortunately evolved to scare people and that helped sell records. Fun!!!

Just let people be what they want to be and do what they want to be. The majority of people, Nirvana included, aren't pretending to be anything, they just are what they are. Don't gatekeep music, jfc.

Nirvana was not pretending to be depressed. Look what happened to Kurt. HE WAS.
john with a buzzcut is the best
It was summer of 2010, I was 13 years old. My first love, the first girl that I was inloved of, broke my heart. Remember those days my friends tried to cheer me up but they didn't. I was just a little teen trying to understand, I remember I listened this song and everything changed, I felt so happy for it, every single day, it helped me. Now is 2023 and I just got divorced, Im listening this hit again❤ no matter what, I will survive this.

You know, isn't it funny that everyone is dressed like a rock star and John is just like an ordinary man?
