Weirdo Reborn Denzel was very good, but RDJ truly became Charlie Chaplin. I never saw RDJ in Chaplin, I only saw Charlie Chaplin. Pacino won because he didn’t have an Academy Award and should have won many times years before and the Academy knew it.

@@macabree5856 Celebrities and movies/tv shows back then were more magic because there were so much less of them all. Everybody generally watched the same tv shows as we only had a limited number of channels. There were only so many films released every year and so because of that much less actors/stars. And everybody knew them. I honestly couldn't name 1 film released in 2024 and probably only 2 from 2023. I also wouldn't know any actors or singers under the age of 30 anymore. The ones I could name between 30-35 are the ones like the Harry Potter kids, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift who have been around forever.

@@shanefolan9175 Incredible comment you wrote. Much respect. Very insightful and true Yes, there was exceedingly more magic back then. From films, TV shows to sports and practically every aspect in life because they was so much less. Even things like talking to your friend was more enjoyable than era now because so much less-ness. I grew up in era before cell phones. Had to either call people on house phone or schedule a meet up. Now, everyone have cell phone, face time etc. Only about 12 tv channels back then. Now there's thousands, KZread, streaming. The special-ness of things is gone. Like yourself, i can't name no recent films or actors younger than 30. No need to even go to theaters, just watch them free online. Appreciate your comment.

Pretty crazy how few of them are dead 27 years later. Really only Raul Julia who died very prematurely due to a stroke while hospitalized for stomach cancer.
@shanefolan9175

Not really, they are all super wealthy and the elite in society so statistically have much less chance of dying than the average person and more chance of living well into old age. Wealth significantly can improve life expectancy and couple that with the less stress and the access to the best resources and best healthcare options many of the general public cannot afford. The same is true for the royal family in Britain, massive wealth and privilege so they mostly live well into old age with good health. King Charles is 75 now and has cancer but he has much better chance of surviving it than an average man of his age considering he has access to the best resources most people wouldn't have. The same is true for princess Kate Middleton who has cancer, because of her wealth and social status she has better access to the better healthcare and so has much better odds of survival than an average woman of her age getting cancer. Couple that with the fact that she has unlimited recovery time and has no rush to get back to work to pay her mortgage or feed her kids the rest of us would have if we got cancer. So if many of us were free from the financial constraints/pressures on our shoulders and money was no object we make ourselves much less vulnerable to diseases, both getting them and fighting them if we d get them. Put it this way, pretty much all of them shown in this video could have retired that day in 1993 and never worked again and been comfortable for life. If you were to show a video of any other industry/profession work event from 27 years ago the chances of a good few of them being dead is much more likely because vast majority of people will not make near the money Hollywood stars/directors and so on in the video would make. They say health is your wealth but regardless wealth can maintain and improve health significantly.
Good memories!

This is real Hollywood
I'm here to see Placido Domingo's appearance 2:56 mentioned in the Description; a pity it isn't of him singing. The GOAT was always a class act, and frankly still is classier than the Hollyweirdos even then, and most certainly now. A time when the Oscars kept the political lecturing during acceptance speeches down to a dull few seconds though not nearly as well as they did in the years leading up to the end of the 20th Century. Look around for footage from the early Oscars and you'll get an eyeful of even more elegant, classy and magical celebrities who focused on making good movies and didn't create controversies just to get in the tabloids, because there's no such thing as bad press (yes there is, old publicity types operated under a very different set of cultural norms). By the 1990s, the low grade marxism that had started infesting Hollywood back when John Wayne was a headliner, enough so he noticed, was building a head of steam. One of the downsides of breaking the studio system: studios could apply pressure to their talent to avoid certain behaviour and talk, and in return the studio would apply pressure to the press to keep them from reporting unsavory happenings. Now, of course, the Oscars is no longer the world wide spectacular it once was, and we all know it. It has only itself to blame. Turns out, Joe McCarthy was right. Problem was he lacked tactical finesse and was unprepared for the communists in Hollywood already well versed in its hallmark tool of character assassination, nor for how culturally, the beautiful celebrities mattered more to the general viewing public than the threat to America's very existence communism has proven and still proves to be. Far too many young people, and ageing hippies, really have convinced themselves that America is nothing special and deserves to be destroyed. God help us all.
roberts so fine pls
