I think it's wonderful that you are re-creating what you saw at Target, and not supporting those " designers ". Crochet is an old art that needs to flourish with the help of the internet. I have been crocheting for over 40 years, (self taught) and just now getting inspired to design wearables to fit me. Great little top. Keep going. Ms. Fee.

@@TheFirstEyeball it could be your hooks, some are actually really bad for your hands? I was struggling as well, but I got an ergonomic hook and it helped immensely

@TheivingBumbleBees yeah ive been wanting some with a handle as rn i only have the metal ones but my hand gets a rash from the silicone handles

The top is so cute! You've given me a lot of ideas of what to make so, thank you for that! Etsy is nice to shop on because usually the person making the crocheted pieces is also the persons selling, and pricing them, so they usually get a fair amount of money for the pieces.

This is so cute!!! I’ve noticed a lot of ‘crocheted’ stuff in Zara etc as well. Just been taking pics of them hoping to recreate, this is inspiring!

I also recreated that same top! I used the linen stitch for mine!

4:30 check out the linked double crochet stitch, rn idk if you're using dc but the same concept kinda applies to other stitches. Basically it makes the stiches more dense and wayyy less see through. hope this helps

I love the top. So cute. I don’t like when I see “crocheted” items in the big stores because I know it’s not quality. I feel it makes people think crochet as a craft is not worth the time and talent that it really does take to make any item. Therefore making it had for the little shops to sell quality items. 💜

So funny I purchased a plain blue one at target it was too small then found another on old navy and got that instead and thought 💭 I can duplicate it ! Lol so I love that you have this idea . I also limit the amount of clothes I buy, and I make most of my clothes. The comments about fast fashion seems honourable but it does make me wonder about the workers who make those items. If people stop buying it, where would their jobs go? Do they have the skills to make high quality and thus high priced items? I agree there should be lobbying for better working conditions and better pay for these workers but by boycotting sale of their items will just lead to unemployment for them

It’s so frustrating how long it takes me to crochet compared to other people. I was born left handed but I was forced to learn how to write with my right hand so I crochet right handed and it takes forever because it’s unnatural but I don’t want to learn how to do it left handed😭
