Great Bow Wow Wow, Stranglers, Journey and Kate Bush finds! You have one of my favorite records hanging in a frame above your guitars! Looking for the UK video! ✌🏽

I lost my original US orange dynaflex in a move 15 years ago. So glad to have it back and an upgrade from US copy to UK !!! Thanks, Steve 😊

Plus American musicians of Filipino descent! Many great albums John 👍. @@jtsrecordroom3963 JT, if you are checking out Filipino bands. Listen to River Maya, Eraserheads, Itchyworms, The Dawn, VST & Co, Boyfriends, Juan De La Cruz, Judas, Sampaguita, Mike Hanapol. These bands/artists are from the 70's -2000's and run the gamut from Disco, Funk, Rock, New Wave, Alternative. I'm of Filipino descent and enjoy these guys along with the standard Pop artists. Don't know how hard it is to obtain their albums overseas or here in the US but I have some on cd when they use to sell cd's at the Filipino stores here in San Diego.

I'd love to find that Bow Wow Wow LP, I just don't see it in the wild. I'm not sure if I would be into Poco, I really like Richie Furay's songs he did in Buffalo Springfield, especially Kind Woman, a great country rock song. Speaking of country rock, a great album to check out is the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy, a fantastic and underrated country rock album. They do a version of Mike Nesmith's Some of Shelly's Blues that's just so good. Journey's first album is quite good and really doesn't sound anything like what they would in the late 70s. Always enjoy seeing all the great records you bring back from your travels, and nice to see you and your family back home, safe and sound. Take care Jt.

Great to have you back. One of my regrets as a kid was not being able to go on the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Ride at Disneyland. Seems like it was down for repairs or something and has since been scuttled. I hear there is a ride at Tokyo Disneyland but that it isn't quite the same. I also feel the get it while you can philosophy makes sense if the price is right. So many times I have lost out on something of limited availability thinking it will always be available. I have found out the hard way that it is not often the case and things can vanish or shoot up in price bc of oop and or quality and scarcity. I read somewhere that unless a company can sell 10000 copies on a repress, things go oop. Out of print. Bc they can't make their money back or better. At least for physical media.

@@jtsrecordroom3963 That is funny bc you inspired me to grab a couple minty Big Country lps here in Burlington VT 2 weeks ago at my local shop for $1 ea. in the bargain bin, lol. I remember back in the 80's when I worked in a record shop, so many bands back then that we turned up our noses at that were actually pretty good who were hot like Big Country, etc. So I will enjoy spinning those. I think they had Steve Lillywhite produce once or twice. My favorite Scottish band was Roddy Frame's Aztec Camera. My great oop example is Marvin Gaye's expanded 2 cd of Trouble Man s/t. I got the Superfly expanded and the Shaft, but missed the TM expanded. Now it goes for $100 plus. I was recently given an Ian Mathew’s album, I really enjoyed it. Fun to see your pick ups JT. Did you put these in your luggage or have them sent back?

Luggage is the way to go.. Get a big record box from one of the shops, pack clothes all around.. and carry on some on the plane as well. Because.. I always have extra ! Yes, Ian Matthews made excellent records.

@@jtsrecordroom3963 I need to listen Kate Bush first more, maybe I then can decide what would be the album to buy. Now it feels that it might be Hounds of love, beucause it was first one that I listened from her.

Hey JT, great video again. Love the pictures of the bands in between. I have a question unrelated to the video. I think I made up from previous videos that you lived in Hawaii and are familiar with/ knowledgeable on Hawaiian music. I live in the Netherlands and found a record by Rockwell Fukino (coast to coast) at an old man's book and record store that I visit regularly. The music is great but I can't find much on the artist online, other than that the music is from Hawaii. Does the name ring a bell for you and is there anything you know about the artist? Thanks a million

So.. Aloha Got Soul would know a lot about Rockwell Fukino. They are a record shop in Honolulu that re issues Hawaiian artists. You could message them and ask. I have been there once, 2 years ago. Check them out online.. And I bet Rockwell Fukino is mentioned on their page. On Discogs your record ( Coast To Coast ) goes for a lot of money. Median price 133.00 USD. He performs typically great rock soul funk style that is very popular in the islands. He does it all.. Writes performs, arranges, and is an engineer as well. I picked up a bunch of cool local artists from the 1970's when I was last on Oahu ( Honolulu ). Glad I could help a little bit. He must be from Oahu I think ?

@@jtsrecordroom3963 thank you so much for the reply and for mentioning the name of the label/store! I checked out their website and there's a lot of info on hawaiian music in general. Yes I assume he is. The correspondence address on the back of the record says Waialua. I love fantasizing about the journey that record made, all the way to the south of the Netherlands, beautiful! I will probably write to Aloha got soul still but maybe you already know: the record is on a label called Ivory Coast Records (which at first made me think it was african music). It is also the only record released on that label, from what I can tell on Discogs. Why is a Hawaiian record label named Ivory Coast Records 😅? Is that a reference to the islands you know about? Thanks so much for your time.

That little beach town is on the beautiful north shore of Oahu, right down from famous Sunset Beach ! I would contact Aloha Got Soul.. They will know about this artist, for sure ! You have a pretty scarce, rare record, probably not many pressed. Again, it's right in there with Kalapana, Seawind, Mackey Feary, Liz Damon, and the Orient Express and more early to mid seventies soul funk jazz rock fusion bands of that time. Very cool and chill music.. Dive on in and enjoy the smooth sounds of these awesome bands !

I’ve been exploring many of the Japanese traditions and culture. Their approach is very different from the United States. When you were there is it as noticeable as I’m assuming it is?

@@jtsrecordroom3963 that’s so nice to hear. In the US we show so little respect. I’m not saying I’ve been much better but I do hope going forward I can take some of the Japanese traditions and be kinder, more patient and show more care for the community. I appreciate you sharing the videos. It’s fun to tag along a bit.

That's a good way to live. I try to do this everyday. I have a 10 year old, and I need to be a good husband as well. I have been in customer service for 40 plus years, so it is an approach that needs to be second nature. You would love Japan, and I am looking forward to our next trip over there.. Thanks for your thoughts and actions on this. 🙂
