As someone who spends £25k+ on cards per year, I can personally say it's really satisfying saving up for a while to make that big purchase you've wanted for ages. Really means a lot to you when you can make things work the way you want so I bet you're enjoying the feeling of finally having them! Thanks for showing us Jake, collection pick up videos are my favourite ❤

I have moved more into vintage items because for some reason they are much more affordable than modern now. Picked up a collection of PSA1 through PSA 10 Jungle Scyther Holos, no symbol errors.

That Van Gogh Pikachu will never be $20. I said it when the exhibit happened. Their strategy for distributing the card was terrible. Disappointed everyone but the scalpers. Nice haul, by the way. 😊

You can always discuss pricing, but you NEVER do a bad deal if you enjoy it and you can affort it! ❤

I was at Collect-a-Con Houston as well! I finished most of my English 151 binder. I also did the biggest trade I've ever done. 8 sleeved Evolutions blisters, furious Fist 3 pack Blister, 3 loose packs of Ancient Origins and my Giratina V alt art for a Moonbreon. I felt I needed to do this to stop over paying for Evo skies and finally cross it off my list! Very satisfied with my trades and overall experience at Collect-a-Con. Hopefully I will see you next time!

I’m sure everyone can agree it’s your collection dollars so you spend it on what makes you happy. I also think these cards can still go up significantly due to the popularity of pikachu, crown zenith, and evo skies. Congratz!!

I personally wouldn't spend this much on cards, but to each their own. Congrats.💯

I feel the same, but it might make sense for him. This channel is a way to sell into hype cycles, he has easy liquidity. Let alone the income from the channel. For him I bet it does make sense

Nothing is terrible if you love it and have the means, congrats on your pickups! I'm focusing on my favorite SW&SH Alt Arts in PSA 10's while they're cheap!

FYI, just because a card is down 40% from its highs, doesn't make it cheap.

Those cards are gorgeous! My main focus right now is collecting the Japanese 151 Illustration Rare cards. I can't afford the big ones, so I'm focusing on the more affordable ones.

Love all your choices so so much. some are on my fav list too! Ive been picking up 151 singles (blastoise sar, venasaur sar, sandshrew masterball and all the ars) and am eying up more 151 and roaring moon sar. we are spoiled for choice. so many amazing products and cards. I love collecting pokemon cards. brings me joy and helps make memories for me and my children. thanks for sharing.

hot damn, I made a double take when you said you spent $6000 on those Japanese cards... That's absolutely insane. when you said you don't care about the value and collect what you really like, I felt that. That's a really good mindset. But I hope it goes up though, even with no intention of selling, it's just a great feeling.

I love the purchases lol those pikachu’s are amazing!! With the economy the way it is it’s a fantastic time to buy! Personally I’m moving away from cracking packs to buying singles mainly after CZ I don’t know how it can get better ;). insane pickups Jake, love those exclusive pikachu cards. i recently broke my own code and bought a felt hat pikachu off of someone on facebook. i am worried it will be far too expensive to get at any time in the future, like those Munsch promos, So no judgment there.

I picked up 3 of the Yokohama Deck boxes for ~$160 each on Buyee/Mercari JP but agreed, Ive been watching and waiting for these to drop, especially after it's been months since the event but that was the best prices I could find and now it seems like they're going up again.

Congrats on the new pick ups. Keeping my eye on some reasonable scarlet violet psa 10 slabs. Waiting for some prices to come down.

Good Haul!, ive been grabbing more at modern illustrator rares recently. Pretty cheap and I feel like they have so much personality in them, wish i could pull the trigger on getting the friends in alola card though

Excellent picks. In regards to your decision to spend $10K, I can only say I personally have increased my spending, and focus on cards missing in my collection. As we both enjoyed our purchases, and no planning on selling, what the market does short-term does not matter. I hope it stays down for a while, the Aloha Friends card is in my shopping list.

Been picking up normal holos from sets before Evolutions as well as sealed promos from those eras. Booster boxes are too pricey, so been picking up booster packs in regards to sealed collection.

Apart from the Scarlet and Violet Booster Boxes, nothing is nearly as "cheap" as in America. I'm happy for you, but I'm also a little bit envious.

Never feel bad for purchasing a "controversial " card. Thats part of the spice of any hobby. Getting some cards that not everyone has. Enjoy the grab

I've had alola friends since it came out in 2019. I had to fight myself so hard to not sell it or trade it away in the boom earlier this year. Its just too good of a card to give away!

The Pokemon Company Shanghai just released their Alolan Friends card in simplified Chinese. An ungraded copy is worth around 100 USD right now. I guess that might have a slight hit on its Japanese substitute?

1st edition base Charizard doesn't take hits from its many reprints. The short answer is that the person buying the $100 card was never going to buy the $10k card. They're just too far apart in price to be substitute goods

I’m definitely going to have to get some more crown when it comes on sale if I want to finish my master set

Gorgeous cards! I started collecting and playing Pokémon TCG this year.I love opening packs, but I've been buying more singles lately. I'm focused on buying cute modern cards that are not soo expensive. The highest I've had paid for a card is $30 (gold mew ex on Pokémon 151's release date) I really wanted it because I needed it for my deck hehe I really want to purchase the Gengar VMax Alt Art from Fusion Strike, Gengar is one of my favorite Pokémon and it's just so rare. Yesterday I saw it listed for $150 but I wasn't sure about making the purchase, the card was already sold a couple of hours later T_T I know the card's value was about $100 a year ago, I don't think it will be sold for so low, but do you think it could go down to maybe $140?

Dam 6g that's a lot I'm still debating on buying a psa 10 metal charizard from celebration. Should I get it for 2g?

After seeing people who rip vintage for $300 each or $200 each in a single sitting off of third party sellers and on live markets unfortunately it doesn’t matter what the average consumer decides to do. The whales will buy it. I watched someone just recently spend $3600 on XY, Ruby and Sapphire, and Platinum era packs on live rips and got NOTHING in value back. You can’t reason with everyone. Collectively yeah everyone dislikes third party scalpers and supporting that market but like the PS5s there’s people who will buy it because an extra couple hundred dollars in their minds is the same as a few dollars to someone like me. And when it comes to something you desperately want or get attached to you’re out of luck then. Suffer and watch them sell out anyways really.

Those never work well for me. A test drop usually has the magnetic touch flying apart

I dont think you over spent for the deck box, at least not comparably to the the blokes who paid $399 or more for the first wave of those when they first hit the market. Oh btw, amazing finds!

If I had $10,000 to spend I would take 2x Japanese 25th anniversary golden boxes, 1x Celebrations UPC, 1 copy of all the Pokemon Centre exclusive ETBs that I am missing, then I would probably take some Japanese booster boxes. Now that I am thinking, that would be way too many sealed products, and I wouldn't even have space to keep them lol
