Such a type of watch is called a "Frankenwatch" and is controversial. It looks like a genuine watch because it is made using genuine parts. It isn’t actually, if you expect it to be in its original condition. However, if you can get one for a good price, it won’t be so bad.
I am always looking for donor movements for my vintage watches. Buying a movement for future repairs is more reasonable than buying many parts later. The Omega cal.420 movement featured in this video is one of them. It was probably used in a solid gold case because the hands color is gold. Someone sold the original case just to make money. Recently, I found a watch case for the movement sold at a very affordable price. It is not the original case, but will be much better than keeping the movement as parts for the future. Let's give it a try.
