    So awesome to see Johnny 5 back! I was fortunate to make a pair of parts for this, and it's awesome to see them installed!

    That's so cool to see it again. I'm sure we all have side projects that get forgotten and then rediscovered again. Thanks for sharing the process!

    Great that you have carried on with the build! Ours is the most functional and we have been on international press over the last 3 years. Please feel free to drop us a message if you need help or want to collaborate!

    How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Perfection is the enemy of good enough. I have to admit I got super wrapped up with other stuff and haven't been following you or Grismo as much as I used to. I'm actually really happy to see this pop back up in my feed. Keep it up, we all have stuff come up in our lives. I've got 3 kids now and and am doing my masters while still working full time. My pet projects aren't moving like I want, I just realize it's the nature of the beast.. Keep working at it, it's awesome to see how far you've come.

    My daughter, who is now a robotics engineer, started her journey way back in middle school. She took on some pretty ambitious projects though those years. The advice I always gave her back then was the old adage, how do you eat an elephant, some step at a time.

    4:50 exo-skeletal tele-operation would be a daunting build , of course it would be AMAZING..but.. Current 'Ai' machine learning models can do amazing things like translate (live) video of human poses to a robot 'actor' !! If the project drags a few more years you may find there's an Ai 'brain' ready to plug into ol' Johnny !!!

Also, with you guys rebooting the build, I now have TWO Johnny 5 build series I can watch! (The second is from the Johnny5 Replica channel!) Also, also, if you guys would like someone to do the voice for J5, I’d be happy to audition for the part! Let me know if you guys are interested! Thanks! JOHNNY 5 WILL BE ALIVE!!!

    I have access to Solidworks and Fusion and can’t export the top level assembly as a step file. What is the link to the discord?

  • @paulwoolner9047
    @paulwoolner904717 күн бұрын

    Someone with solidworks needs to open the main assembly and the pac and go it, this flattens everything into a single folder, it not good practice with any cad system to split things up into folders, everything should be in one location.

    What would be cool although probably not realistic would be to turn him into an autonomous inventory robot like some grocery stores and stuff are starting to use. Load him up with some whitty phrases triggered by face recognition with your employees and he roams around checking inventory in the shop lol

    Honestly I have no clue how people can stomach the file structure of Fusion. Give me Windows folders, part and assembly files. Obvious Solidworks user here. Fusion cannot be used for actual business (design side anyway).

    Your preferences do not mean anything to those who know how to use it correctly. It has been used for years for “actual business” by some of the largest manufacturing facilities in the US. Not to be meant as a disrespectful comment. You would be surprised by what is being done due to the accessibility and workflow that it has provided.
