Inside scoop - i've been calling pirelli and most of their dealer network so i can get the night dragons, i am so curios how they will compare the cruisetecs, unfortunately i can't find a Bias Ply front to do with the Bias Ply rear.... i'll continue to pester them and will report back. I'm shocked at the performance and longevity of the cruistecs - the search is on to see if there is anything out there that is better, wish me luck.

Absolutely amazing video. The scenery was just beautiful. I can't wait until summer because I think I'll be doing the same trip. Keep the videos coming Gus.

epic trip! can’t wait for the chain wheel bearings replacement video I typically get around 42mpg indicated but it’s really 3-4 better - 46 mpg if I look at actual miles traveled and filling up tank all the way the exact same way upright

Miro!!!! Man i love getting your messages from Slovakia! Yes sir, along the 100 mile skyline drive, i have spent countless hours sitting on the stone walls and just getting lost in the views - in person they look a million times better than what can be seen with a gopro, sometimes you see the clouds rushing on top of your head down into the valley below while other times you see rain pouring down on the mountains across the valley, it is my slice of heaven. I hope you get out and ride very soon, it is March already and i am so happy about that!!! Thank you Miro for always stopping by brother!

Awesome video Gus, highway milage you are getting is not bad at all, you have a big windshield, quite a lot of weight (cargo not you ;P ) on the bike too. Also quite often you don't hang about >80mph. Im sure if reduce your screen, rode a little slower (60mph) and carried less cargo you would get close to 50. Will check those gloves out though I am thinking I will be going for a pair of heated Furygan gloves as I like their summer gloves which I normally wear.

you are absolutely right, to me, the added consumption is a non issue tbh, but the screen and bags are what caused the additional consumption. I will definitely be checking out Furygan gloves, thank you for sharing!

Love your vids! I was practicing my slow speed on the dct to get more used to it but I dropped it… got a nice dent on my tank and tried fixing it but got some paint ripped out… I’ll probably get a new one in the future but man was I mad since I’ve only had it for 2 weeks haha. Keep up the vids!

Thank you!!! Bro, i'm so sorry to hear that you dropped the bike.... FYI, i've also dropped my bike LOL 3 times already.... as much as i love physics, sometimes it sucks! Because of dropping other bikes and damaging tanks, i was keen on getting crash guards, the last time i dropped the rebel the crash guards did their job and helped protect the tank!

I have some crash guards ordered but they haven’t shipped from revzilla yet… wish they came sooner haha. so I’m def going to wait for those to come in and set up before getting a new tank haha. I also had my brake lever snap but I got that fixed immediately. A scratch on my exhaust and some on the pegs and rear brake lever but those are easier to fix. I mean hey, now that I’ve dropped it I don’t have to worry as much ☠️🤣

@@Soldier-In-Hell oh, you dropped it on the right side, I did that once as well.... Fyi, double check the rear brake pedal, the is a circlip that holds the pedal to the shaft, it is very common for that to come off during a drop, it happened to me...

@@ontherebel11 I’m not sure what that is but I’ll check when I get home. The rear brake pedal was bent up over the peg but I bent it back down into the original spot. Also I wanted to ask, is your plastic housing for the buttons on the right side a little loose? Mine is loosened a TINY amount. Like it moves slightly when turning the throttle. Most likely from when I dropped it.

@@Soldier-In-Hell yes please check the pedal, you gotta look at it from under the bike so it's not easy to see, the circlip (snap ring) is there to keep a washer in place, the washer is there to keep the brake pedal in place. What you want to look for is the shaft that the pedal rotates on. Also double check the bolts that hold the step in place (the metal bracket that the footeg is attached to, mine got bent and the bolts came loose, I had to change the step. The controls housing shouldn't be loose, search for the bolts to make sure they are tight. Extra care must be taken since this is where the throttle housing is, you don't want to risk twisting the throttle and the whole housing move instead, that's very dangerous brother. It sucks when the bike falls on the right side because the potential damage could be to the brakes and throttle.... Be diligent with your inspection brother. It happened while I was on a trip and I had to get creative with my roadside repair using safety wire to keep the brake pedal from going off the shaft.

The legend are more versatile and fit my needs better to be honest, because they are made out of canvas, there is a little bit of give for stuffing stuff in, I am also struggling with a clam shell opening, I don't see it working for me...

Hello Toyota, yes the Honda electrical system can handle extra lights, heated clothing and heated grips at the same time for many hours per day and multiple days during a trip. This is my experience on my 3,000 mile trip in February. 👍

Hi uerti, the Gustafson screen that I tested is 18 inches, but I needed a little more to completely push the air over the helmet. The screen you see in this video is a screen that I modified to make it work for me. I have a detailed video on how I did it with measurements if you are interested. Getting the screen to be a perfect fit will take you time and accurate measurements. Keep in mind that everything has a cost. A really tall screen will push the air over the helmet, but are you willing to look through the screen? Generally speaking, the top of the screen needs to be at nose level in order to push the air over the helmet while allowing the rider to look over the helmet at 50 feet away.

Have you done long trips on a larger bike? For a couple years my Rebel 1100 was all I did long trips on, and I'm pretty small so its okay (besides carrying extra stuff for chain maintenance, extra gas, and stopping every 100-120 miles for gas). Last weekend I did an overnight trip going 300 miles each way on my dads Vulcan Voyager, which is monstrously gigantic... and that thing is so freaking comfortable, I could have done 1000 miles in a day easy... its making me not want to go on long trips on my Rebel again... lol. The Rebel is a lot easier for me to handle though, but the difference in comfort is unreal.

Hi Aya! That's a great topic for a conversation, thank you for bringing it up! I've had this debate with myself over and over again, and I've concluded that at this point in my life, the rebel suits my needs perfectly, so no goldwing for me yet. I haven't toured on a large cruiser, just on a variety of naked bikes and dual sports. But I have ridden the goldwing and even though the comfort is supreme, it compromised things that I can't accept at the moment... I'm a short rider.... I don't want to continuously fight a big bike... Did that for most of my 35 year riding career and not willing to go back to that at my age. One of the reasons I love the rebel is how easy it is to ride, stop, take pictures, back up etc.. I'm addicted to that ease of use. So I focused on making the rebel more of a tourer for me with a taller screen, highway Pegs, 6 inch risers, comfortable seat and a modular luggage system - based on the 3,000 mile trip test on the rebel I would take it on a trip around the world without hesitation! 🤙

​@@ontherebel11 That's cool... I think it would be better if I could figure out how to change it to use a belt, add a few gallons to the gas tank, and maybe add some really soft shocks 🙂. At least the 3rd one is more likely doable. Maybe Honda will add some of those upgrades in a future version, but they seem to really be stuck on chains and small tanks lately. I think they have... 3 bikes that don't use chains now.

Hi William, i personally don't but i have highway pegs to help on those 500 mile days. But i heard that many people have issues with the stock pegs. It depends on how tall one is... it is subjective tbh

Hi bluecat!!! I got mine directly from warm and safe www.warmnsafe.com/ I also tried other companies, based on my experience and extensive research, warm and safe is on top of food chain. I would recommend using heated first layer items instead of a jacket etc. in my experience it is more effective and more versatile. I went with the 7.4 V system since i wanted the ability to run off small batteries or run them by plugging into the bike's battery. In my experience it is always best to have a backup while out in the middle of winter in the middle of nowhere, If the harness that is connected to the bike's battery for whatever reason, i can still run the heated gear. please don't hesitate to ask me any questions, i invested a significant amount of time and resources to conclude that this system works best.

Hi John, at highway speeds apx 150 miles, more if you are riding at slower speeds.

What's the best bang for the buck in terms of ride comfort: a better seat or a better rear suspension? I'm looking at Burley brand stilleto shocks and they seem to have good reviews, but I wanted your opinion as you drive a lot more miles than many of us. Thank you.

Hi Azer! That's a great question! There are lots of variables that we would have to take into account, particularly that the stilletos increase the height of the bike by 2 inches, which might not be an option for shorter riders to consider. But regarding comfort while touring, I believe that investing in a seat has a much higher return that new suspension. Keep in mind that the discomfort one feels is a result on our glutes and tailbone sitting for extended periods of time, the suspension will not negate that imo. You don't need to get a Corbin to get comfortable, you can reupholster your stock seat to high density foam for a great effect. I had done a comparison video of several seats that might be helpful. Just ask yourself how you intend on riding, do you consistently ride 300 mile days, or are you just riding an hour at a time once a week. That will help you justify the investment. In my case, I love touring and riding 200 miles a day when not touring. Hence why I tested out so many different seats to find what works for my body. 🤙
