I have to do low-joint strain, cardio-active exercise due to both physical and neurological issues- so usually swimming is about it for. But I showed this to my physio and she said 'if you did ten minutes of that a day, your whole body is gonna see results without the strain other dance styles can have on your feet and knees" Yeeesss!!

I was just wondering about that too. It shouldn't hurt our joints to exercise and have fun! Did you try it? How did it go for your knees?

I used to do this!! I didn't even know what it was. When I was tiny, my dad used to take me to bluegrass concerts, and I remember doing this dance in our barn back home, but I must have forgotten where I learned it. We moved to the city and I forgot everything. What a wonderful memory to have back after all these years. Thanks so much for this video.

I live in central Tokyo... I watch this and I feel like I'm transported to a different planet. what a wonderful stage and atmosphere. You two are adorable.

This is profoundly sincere love of dance and music. You two young ladies. The signs. The dog. The purity and more. You will capture the hearts of the world with this. Incredible. A rare find. Emmy award content indeed. A full length show or series in this setting would have viewers. And, now that your daughters older you could simply expand the cast of characters a bit with each new move taught of dance. Everything needed is right here.

Personally, I'm convinced that you would have been the perfect Miss Molly replacement for Romper Room . On video content, I believe I have a little more knowledge than the average viewer. I don't know if there is a way to privately message, but briefly, I was legal support for a nationally broadcast Emmy award documentary and earlier served as an elected governor to the TV Academy Emmy Awards-NY. I also chaired the TV Academy Membership Committee. Your video is great stuff. The sound effects, the AV synch or not... It's just so rare and enjoyable to watch it. You've got it all in that video. This short clip is just one step out of an hour and a half long program. This is as genuine as digging up a handful of dark earth and smelling it. Rich history that goes back 2-300 yrs., or more, all the way back to Europe.

That's the exact feeling I had part way through this demonstration, the roots going all the way back to Medieval or Renaissance Europe.

I didn't know anything about buck dancing until the summer of 1981. I met Connie who rented a room in the same house I did for the season. One night we went out for a walk through these fabulous tree line streets nearby. She started telling me about buck dancing, then gave me a demo, had me try it and a half an hour later we were both buck dancing having a blast! I miss Connie

I told myself that I would learn the Running Man BEFORE my 60th birthday. I "happened" upon y'all's video the other day, and it occurred to me that the Buck Step is akin to the Running Man! I tried your steps and I CAN DO IT!! I'm convinced that once I get the Buck Step perfected, I'll easily be able to SLIDE into the Running Man! I'm tickled pink!😊

In Australia it's called clogging and comes under the umbrella of the square dancing association. There are clubs you can join. Super, super good fun to do.

Grinning ear to ear after watching this!! Loved all of the signs, the Very helpful & charming little assistants (2-legged & 4-legged), and the down-home feel of this tutorial!🤩😍

I've been trying to learn it. It's like clogging, only with a slide. If you watch Lynard Sinnard's live performance of Freebird, you'll see Ronnie Van Zant buck dancing and nearly achieving lift off while he plays that amazing guitar solo.

Everything about this is spectacular, including the Little Rascals clubhouse (but with a URL!) It gave me a warm feeling for America and those feelings have been hard to find lately

For any budding musician out there, this is a great lesson in timing, its phenomenal timing from the body. Play along to the feet, the feet are the percussion.

Always in Bluegrass. All folk music, really. Have you noticed that? It's world wide. Dance that upper class, rich, what have you, is beautiful, and very posing. But the farmers, bricklayers, anyone actually doing the work, are going to stomp. The feet have some words to say. It's that way here in Appalachia, in Ireland, France, Italy, I just watched a video of African folk dance where I thought they were going to lift off the ground with the quick stomping. It was beautiful.

I have nerve damage in my pelvis, making it very difficult to dance. I have found that I can sit in a chair, and although it isn't exactly the same, I can still recreate some of the moves! Allow your inner dancer to flow to the surface and do what you can! There is no rule that dance must be done standing up!! I hope you try this. Dance truly can be enjoyed by all!!
