Id lose my mind working that puzzle. No wonder somebody forgot some pieces. Theres to many. Well, actually just enough.
I am glad that Dirt Perfect had his problem with the first dozer he got from you. So people were able to find your channel. I hope you feel the same way?

I was watching Clinton well before Dirt Perfect… 🤷♂️ I’ve wanted to buy a Surplus truck from him for a long time…
Wish one of the local transmission rebuilders in your area would have offered to assist or loan you the tool to set up the spacers/shims required to finish the job. If course later on if they needed some assistance repairing some heavy equipment you would have returned the favor/assistance.. I miss the days when people helped each other. Really hope this rebuild works well for you folks.😊

Very few shops rebuild them. Making the assumption somebody local has the ability and admonishing them is... Typical of people like you.

I would bet there are no shops with experience in this transmission. No rebuilders left! Everyone just replaces it with reman.

@@mfreund15448 There are rebuild centers... just not common for local shops to rebuild these. How else does one get a re manufactured unit?
Maybe some ss mesh over the hole the mice get in is required.

You two are a couple of surgeons ....amazing. ...
Awesome job putting the transmission back together you seem like a man who won’t let something beat him even having the videos to look back on.
I use a Fry Daddy that I keep filled with synthetic oil (higher scorch point) to heat bearings/ gears. Cheap and controllable heat in oil. Great videos.
You guys are braver than I am. Transmissions baffle me. This old man enjoys your projects. Keep it up!

I agree. Single countershaft transmissions like this one are daunting, but twin countershaft transmissions are pure black magic. If you don't time the gears just right, the whole thing locks up, despite everything being perfectly round!
The transmission pro's don't do THAT well fixing these buggers. I had two bad shops just replace broken parts, leaving much of the metal shavings. One put JB weld on the cracked housing. It's tough to watch all the shady mechanics these days. You guys were clean, thorough and UNGRADED the whole setup. NICELY DONE!!!
😮 Yep Kevin is curly great grandson 😊😊
LOL. "Ohh, that's heavy" as you lift it into place by hand.
Mr. Clint working on aircraft engine bearings we used to heat them in hot oil about 230 degrees for 15 minutes and the bearings would literally fall on the shaft.
🐿️ That’ll teach you not to let Uncle Scott bring his pets to work. They’re destructive!
The better value on the truck is keeping it. Low mileage and great body, clean interior. My vote would be keeping it for the shop😊

You should let Kevin take that truck into his paint shop and paint the door jams blue. Get rid of that white.
Congratulations on the rebuild of the transmission. Everyone who worked on it was a challenge, for sure! 😊

Makes me miss Indiana. Indian Creek class of 76.
OMG - That was a LOT of parts to put back in the right place and orientation. I'll admit... I was holding my breath when you put it in gear to back out. Glad it all worked OK. I hope you did something that Grandpa Gus would have done to keep the damn mice out in the future. Now, with all the Bar-BQ action and talk sausage fingers, I'm getting hungry. THANKS for the patience to rebuild this thing and take us for the ride.
jeeeez I hope cooking bearings does not void your grille warranty
Quality & Control here, you’ve put on one scene double in this video around 19min. Anyway, nice video again to see this transmission putting together 👍👏👊💪
Doing A GOOD JOB absolutely . SIR .
Good job on the 6 speed. I remember 40 years ago watching my Dad rebuild a few 4 speeds from dump trucks. I miss him.

Yeah, we all have a big hole in our lives where our Dads used to be.
I’m not one to say how to build a transmission because I don’t have the nuts. But I watch a lot of Warren on farm machinery and when he rebuilds them. He freezers pretty much all the parts and they slip right back on. Great video.
Damn mice are a pain in the ass. Pay uncle Scott twenty bucks? Check his pockets for bolts lmao!!
Where did Clint sleep after this video. He just might get 'grilled.' God Bless.
What an amazing education your son's getting, There's nothing like learning from your dad.

To reduce the size of a ring - chill it - blast of CO2 gas (fire extinguisher) will shrink it nicely. Heat a rod (longer and skinny) Chill rings to compress the ring. And heat to expand. tricks on rings and volumes, linear and volumetric expansions.
We use a electric skillet with vegetable oil to heat bearings . One time I had a stubborn one that wouldn't drop on after a couple try's so I set the axle outside overnight in the below freezing temp . The next morning I heated the bearing again and it dropped right on .
Warranty work…. Bad word…. SANY!!
Clint, another great job! Your skills always amazes me. I also like that you and the team keep the shop clean and organized. Keep up the good work brother!
It does my heart good to see a father and son are daughter working side-by-side with their parents 💙 I love my father but can't work with him to save my life. Trust i have tried.
I'm A BIG Mobile One Oil MAN !! SYNTHETIC Blend !!! BUT THAT'S Me !!!
Hats off to you for doing the rebuild yourself Clinton! 🙂👍 Always cool to take something apart and see how it works. Glad there are zero issues and it shifts like new. Take care and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Thought I was 10 minutes longer than need be. Then I realised I had seen the second gear side twice.
Another great job Clinton! That was a very tedious task you just performed flawlessly on that transmission! I’ve built a many automatic transmissions but a standard transmission seems to have a whole lot more going on inside! Thanks for the great learning experience!
That transmission repair under my guidance would not have ended well! Definitely would have had parts left over and it still wouldnt be working. A guys got to know his limitations. Good stuff!
lol ...Friday Night Special!! lov it!! That burn out still Rocks!! It is today!!!Cheers!;-)!
Transmissions have always been voodoo magic to me. Looks like you've been in there before.
I believe the list is much longer of things you can do than the list of things you can't!!
All these repair or replace do to a CRITTER damn mice ! I thought that punch Kevin was using was a 50 Gal. bullet !! don't hit that , it may go BANG !!!
ALL THE WAY !!
Thanks for the video. I know nothing about anything you work on but its still great content.
I think that last citclip you put on was upside-down 😅 I'm glad too see everything worked out.
After a long day of clearing trails down in Brown County this was a fantastic way to relax before finding all the ticks I collected! Thanks!
Since the grill was out maybe cook some burgers and brats for the team!
Great to watch…. From the England
*- Very Strong trany, and smooth, now. Wow !* *- I can hear and see it would slip the gears Nicely and not use the syncro rings to downshift if you have the ears the hear the needed rpms like I learned to do with my double stick MACK stone crusher pit truck years ago so I didn't have to wear out my knee shifting a thousand times a day over a 14 hr shift.* *- Good job remembering/recognizing logically a reverse order for assembly. I could not do that.* *- Impressive work, gentlemen. COMPETENCE ! ! !*
What a team Clinton, that was so far beyond me I was amazed that you could put it together, I was never good at puzzles, great video, can't wait for the next.
Clint playing with his Lego's again
Is Kevin related or just an employee? Damn he's a smart boy!👍
Just nothing like that feeling you get when you taje a vehicle out for test drive after you've rebuilt a major component like the tranny, Engine, rear end or others and it's working like the day it came off the assembly line or even better. Clint, you, Sausage Fingers Kevin and the Kid did an outstanding job on that one. Love that Coast Guard / Navy camo paint job.
Great video 👍 Should have called it "This is not a Warranty" looks like you had a quiet and thoughtful time building that transmission 😊
Looks good… diggin those cooler plates
Damn Clint! Very impressive rebuild from scratch. Pretty ballsy to tackle that with no prior experience. Very few people could do that like you just did. Congratulations!
Kevin , wearing a Snap On shirt , the icon man will be pissed, Ha Ha
Clint 18:29 we’re all here watching you can talk to us :-) please say something, anything.
Great achievement Clinton. Did you think about putting a screen over the vent hole, to keep the furry little monster out of the clutches again?
People that know what they are doing with equipment, machines. They use the feel and sound to know what is going on with their equipment.
Bet you wished you could have used the magic finger click. 🤣Nice rebuild I wonder if Dodge are now using this as a training film when putting a gear box back together. 👍 Shame you can't get a mouse guard for your clutch, something to work on and patent, me thinks. 🤗
I'd work for free for a month just to aquire some of your knowledge. Well done on all accounts Start a school guy ! Offer apprenticeships
I seen the video when you disassembled and was very careful with the order and orientation of each wash, spacer, race , bearing, gear etc !! but while reassembling, you're flipping, turning, changing the order. I would've gone bonkers !! But you're calm as can be ? WTF LOL
Impressive Clint. Didn't realize how involved a transmission was. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
OUTSTANDING JOB, at least 1k saved on labor, I was waiting on this video, and you didn't disappoint. You need more cameras, got you working 1 handed a lot.
Time to find that one a new home.
C&C Equipment +: As is usual for the 'C&C E' channel, another superb presentation, documenting the entire ( or virtually _'entire'_ ) rebuild and installation of the clutch/transmission/transfer assemblies in the Dodge Ram 3500 truck. The rebuild process proved to be _tedious, rather complex_ and difficult to keep up w/, to say the very least! An effort expertly handled by the people of the business, to include Clint, Kevin, Her Majesty, the true _Boss_ of the operation, 'Uncle' Scott and son, Hunter (hope _none_ have been overlooked/left out? 😳; if so, sincere apologies are offered to one and all). The video receives the ubiquitous *_YT_* 'thumbs-up' "reward" for its outstanding *_excellence/quality._* Well done, as always! Keep 'em rollin' out, guys & gal! 👏👏👏

We do the same way, but we use oil, not water. Great job 👍
I don't think I've ever seen Kevin is concerned as he has been as you're putting this thing back together. 🤣🤣🤣
My Lord Clint, your patients is amazing putting those assembly's together ! Fun To Watch
0:45 🤣🤣 ✊️Clint, my brother!!! Project of my own, needed to dehydrate some play sand......So....in my kitchen oven it went.....then roasted a chicken after for dinner!!🤣🤣
The modern technology of video is such a huge benefit on the newer multi gear transmissions. Back in the 80s I ended up doing a lot of transmissions because other guys in the shop would take them apart and not be able to put them back together. Fortunately I got ahold of an older gentleman's set of service manuals for Eaton/Fuller New Process, Allison and several medium duty and standard heavy duty packets. The Allison 13 speed automatic was a fun one. The zip tie trick was a very smart move. I used tie wire, but same idea. It keeps all the main components together. The only ones that can be a real pain are those inner rings, I saw you flip them around a few times to sort it out. I got a whole center shaft back together in an 18 speed once only to realize the shift rings were flipped the wrong way. 🤦♂️ Everything worked fine until I put the idler shaft back in and nothing turned. I sure could've used a camera back then. Great job. Those 6 speeds can be intimidating for sure.🤙
Damn good job guys!!
For some reason I started thinking about Bill Murray and Groundhog Day as I watched leading up to the 20 minute mark. 😉
Sure is a great feeling when you know it's done right, all back together and it works flawlessly 👍🍻
Truly Amazing -Great Work!!!!
Can't wait!!! Things work so much better when u have quality parts. Have the patience to take ur time and fit everything together just so. Once again a pleasure watching u all work. So thanks for sharing see u next time.
You the man. Good job.
Another great job, well done!
Great job, quality content! Thanks!
Incredible video loved watching the transmission going together 😊
My mouth hangs open in confusion and amazement how anyone even has the first clue how to build something that vital and intricate
That’s a heck of a manual tranny. Between the upgrades and your usual attention to detail, you should many hundreds of thousands out of it now. It was fortunate those broken parts didn’t do more damage. Hunter is a great helper. Another great informative video!
I love when it all comes together.👍
One word “Perfection”!! Thanks for sharing!!
Seemed like i watched the first ten minutes twice?
so glad i have the NV5600. but you're not lifting that in by hand! I took mine out with the transfer case attached and replaced the clutch. it's one heavy beast
Congrats on the outcome.
That was a thing of beauty. Y'all did good!
absolutely amazing the stuff you all can figure out
Good job Guys, an interesting rebuild too.
WOW! That was a lot of parts!!
Great job
Thanks Clint 👌👍nice to see the job right through ☺️🍺🍺🥤
