What people don't realize about "American" made products is that most of them have a lot of foreign parts on them. Even American made trucks/cars have TONS of Chinese components. I think it's good to invest small when starting and move up from there. Thanks for showing folks how to do that.

Seriously, I've seen them repurposed with a flatbed for rough or no-road hauling, at least several have put big commo/van bodies on the back for overlanding/bugout vehicles, or even just exactly what the Army uses them for - hauling a D8 to the job site on a trailer.

Excellent content, Clint! Sometimes those head-scratching, butt-kicking, goofy one off glitches are the best for content. It is good to see Mason spreading his wings a bit; even with a fairly approachable boss like you, between the Dreaded Camera and voicing opinions to the boss can give Newbies fits. It appears that Mason is coming along into his own. Now if he only had some sausage fingers or a hyper festive fetish for, say, 4th of July or Thanksgiving... .😊

Although I'm a trained Petrol & Diesel Engine Fitter and Plant Operator Mechanic, I have spent most of my working life as a Cabinet Maker. When I started that journey, I bought cheap tools in the UK from ScrewFix and B&Q (our version of Harbor Freight). As busness came in, I re-invested and slowly replaced all the cheap tools with better quality - but it was with those cheap tools that I learnt my trade!

Barry - your dad's advice is definitely sound. I have my doubts about the electric tools holding up to professional every day use but who knows? I think what Clint was getting at is that for someone starting out, HF might be a workable option. But they'd be a means to an end - definitely should be replaced over time. On the other hand, the wisdom your dad passed along to you of "buy once, cry once" is a good rule that kinda negates everything I just wrote, haha.

@@nicke1903- South Main Auto used a few Harbor Freight 1/2 drive impact guns at his garage as a test. They all quit working and he sent them to AvE who did a post mortem. The internal hammer and anvil (the parts that make the impact to break loose lug nuts, etc) was a powdered metal part instead of a forging and wore out when used hard every day. If HF cuts corners on the most important parts, all the other pieces of the impact gun are probably pretty junky too.

@@wes11bravo exactly, you just throw on some lawnmower blades, tighten up a bolt or 2 they'll get good utility out of it, the Harbor Freight here would take back a dirty diaper so returns seem easy enough. I'm no fan of the chicoms either but lots of those tools are made in Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, etc. The service you're providing by giving an honest review is a gift. As you mentioned HF stuff is a good option for something just starting out who might not have $5k to spend on a Snap-On tool cabinet (with no tools in it). 2) Do you all use the dash 20 manuals for these vics when you troubleshoot? You guys are ninjas but they do come in handy sometimes.

Williams tools are very expensive and pretty close to the steel that Snap On uses. Just for info Snap On Tool Co uses only virgin high carbon steel which I thought steel was steel but the steel used on Snap On tools is not recycled steel and when a dealer turns in his broken warranty tools they go back to the factory and are buried in a big trench. As a dealer back in the 80’s I had to go out to the Snap On grave yard to see it happening with my own eyes and sure enough there was a big backhoe digging a new trench and they were dumping some broken tools. I couldn’t see why they didn’t scrap the steel but they said it was because of liability. I didn’t really buy that but they stuck to the story.

Clinton, it’s good to know you have a Det. Mason in the house. I was never worried about you two not getting it run. Great video. Thanks for sharing!! Edit: Bring on the videos, Clinton lol.

I've seen the California Stop many times, but this is the first time I've seen the Indiana Stop! I'm glad it was something simple, and now you know to look for that in the future.

I’ve always wanted to know more about the oshkosh trucks. Mostly after I was dwarfed by one by a barracks in the south of the UK. Gotta love those 8V Detroits!

as far as the HF tool chest itself, Abom79 bought a couple and loves ‘em. I checked them out and was VERY impressed with their construction…every bit as good as Husky or Kobalt brands… I bought two and am gonna buy two more.

Kind of funny how the "haters" keep watching, just to find things wrong, Of course they jump in their vehicle that was made in a foreign country, runs on an ECM with a chip made in China. I still have tools from western auto from the 60's in my tool box, still going strong and the tool truck wrenches next to them don't complain at all. Keep doing your videos "your way" that's why we subscribe. still waiting to see your deuce and a half overlander project. Thanks for the videos

Hi the next one that tells you. They don't like your tools say well if you had to pay for all these tools. Then you would wish that you would have a chance to get these tools for free. I would I would enjoy him and I'd be happy to have them

Miserable little buggers. Mice have caused me more than a few wiring problems in my vintage cars. Glad the problem wasn't too serious. Good job Clint & Mason.

The "cure" to your situation is cotton balls dowsed with "Peppermint Oil" ... doesn't kill them but they don't like the smell and will not enter the area but for 1 sniff. I had this problem here in the French Riviera on my Corvette invading my cabin air filter box and under the hood/bonnet ... over a year and they have not returned. Bon chance y'all (I'm from Texas).

I started turning wrenches with a hand me down set of Craftsman, until I found out can replace for free. Then I had a shiny set of Craftsman tools, went to garage sales and bought everything craftsman. I would only buy 1 wrench from snap on, the most commonly used, when I was earning more I bought a set of snap on. When I was rolling in cash, I bought the big box, took 3 years but it takes time to build quality. When someone ask me to borrow a 9/16 wrench, they are surprised that I have 15 different styles of 9/16 wrench, every tool has a purpose. "Run what ya brung, ifin you don't win, figure out how tah win next time "

6:03 if i were to use this particular truck model, i would defo put a tool tray on rails. You'd loose a little bit of height, but the convenience of being able to pull all your tools out would rock the world. Probably something using the slides used for kitchen cabinets (the ones for narrow spice racks) with a knee joint that would allow you angle the tool tray down at an angle when it's at max extension (basically four pieces of square section with a bolt through. In two pairs, two of the four pipes are attached to the slider, two attached to the tray). Back in the mid 90's i was stateside to visit family and one of the things i saw then was something very similar to this, but for a f250 truck bed. The whole thing would come out, bend down with a knee joint and you could load stuff on board. IMO, this kind of truck needs a tool tray on it. Nobody buys something like this to buy groceries.
