Rear leaf spring hanger/shackle replacement on a 2007 Ford F350

We had a slight sagging problem with the drivers side rear suspension on this particular truck. After a brief inspection, it became pretty obvious why! In this video we'll be torching off and removing the broken OEM spring perch and rear shackle, and replacing both of them with new parts from Dorman.
Thanks for watching!

Nice video ! I’m doing my rear springs on my 2000 F250 crew cab that I ordered out . I’m from northern Mn with salt which your truck condition looks so different. My bolts don’t come out like yours did . Need to get that torch kit like you did . Makes those bolts easier to get out . I’m just using mapp gas and impact gun and busted a 1/2 ratchet with 4 ft bar . Thanks

Kind a looks like your spring twisted as you set it down.. Canting from the outside of the spring up towards the bed and in.. ? Maybe that Doorman bracket? or the bushings might be more warn that appears?

I see what you mean, but I think it was mostly an optical effect due to the camera placement. The leaf spring bushing is a little worn, but the truck has been back in service for a couple months now with no visible issues. It was in a pretty severe wreck a few years back so nothing is completely straight on it anymore. It never leaves the ranch though, strictly low speed/off road use only.

@@AllThingsMech Cool... Makes sense! I have a broken leaf but replacing both sides just to bring it back.. An 08 dually.. Less expensive to revive them than to choke out $90k for a new one.. ITs insane!

Insane is definitely the right word for the truck market right now! Costs are going up, but the quality is really sub-par these days compared to older rigs. More creature comforts and tech, sure, but the overall fit and finish just isn't what it was. Three out of the four in my stable are paid off...I'll do everything I can to keep them going before I ever buy another new one!
