Thanks so much for this video.. was a big help in changing the rear differential fluid on my 22 Outback Wilderness. The only difference I found was that mine doesn’t have a 17mm fill bolt and instead it’s another T55 bolt.. other than that, the video was easy to follow and saved me a nice chunk of change! I also did the f/r brake fluid change for the 30k service

I'll probably use the same Subaru branded gear oil too. I was surprised that the Subaru gear oil is only about $14/quart. It's not a synthetic like some other auto parts store brands? I guess it doesn't matter if we're staying on top of the fluids & replacing every 30k.

It is synthetic. It’s expensive but it’s the good stuff.

Do you fill till oil drip out of the filler hole or just 0.8 quart? Thanks

Not yet! Cvt oil is very expensive so I haven’t taken that on myself

@@Loubar87 Idemitsu CVTF Type SB2 They actually make the fluid for Subaru and its less expensive.

Is it bad if you overfill? I pumped in a whole quart before it finally filled up.
