    I am not a groomer, nor do I own any pets. I have no reason to watch your videos.... other than the fact that I love to watch you help these dogs by giving them a much needed hair cut. I’ve got to say I learned a little just by watching but to me it’s just interesting

    Awe so cute he is!! Great groom. And I understand about her being elderly and not being able to brush..my mom had a yorkie and I stepped up to help her with brushing and getting him groomed. Just because they aren't able to do it themselves shouldn't mean they don't get the companion of a dog..its just someone should step in to help her. Thumbs up for the daughter who helped..i have been caring for my mom for 15 years now 24/7 she has Parkinson's disease so I completely understand... She's my whole world!❤ I really wish I lived closer to you so I could bring in our shih tzu!! You're the best!!💙💙💙

    I love the way you talk to the dogs Dede. You’re really trying to make a connection. This poor little boys matted fur has left his skin so pink, nit looks quite sore and sensitive, but he really improved from the start of the groom to later on, almost like he knew you were helping him and made him feel better 🙏🏻🤗🐶🐾💜

    I have a Bichon/Maltese who has the same attitude when we do anything with his feet. He tolerates the hind feet, but does not like his front feet messed with. He also does that licking thing whenever he is nervous about anything, but has never bitten our groomer. Bichon’s are very stubborn and don’t give up until they get their way, and most people don’t have the patience to beat them at their game! This pup looks so much like my Titan! You did an awesome job with him!

  • @LucerneInDerne
    @LucerneInDerne5 жыл бұрын

    amazing job, she handles the pup as it suppose to be. When I read comments like, she treats him so harsh or that she is mean to the dog, pleeeaaase. Do it your way and let´s see how successful you´ll be with your gentle approach, for sure not being of any help to the dogs that are problematic. She is really skilled and know what she does and you don´t know what you are talking about. Her approach helps the dog to understand that she is in control and she will not keep up with bad behavior.

    I’ve groomed dogs before and I was never this rough or angry with them. People need to remember there’s a fine line between being firm and being rough. These animals are scared, they’re not trying to be mean or to hurt you. They feel threatened and are acting in defense. So take some time before the groom to get them used to the sound, let them smell your equipment and yourself. Talk to them, soothe them. Let them know you aren’t there to hurt them. If you take 5 minutes with an animal just getting to know them and letting them get to know you and your equipment, they won’t be as scared and you don’t have to be so rough. But to each their own.

    The approach you talk about is brilliant! Having said that, it doesn´t work with every dog as much as we would like. There are dogs that will always hate groomer no matter what, and I´ve seen people picking up their pet unfinished, matted. At that point you as an owner need to decide and I´m glad she is willing to handle such a dog, for his own good.

    @@crazycatlady5034 you cant have respect from your dog if you dont discipline it and small breeds need it THE MOST....EXERCISE DISCIPLINE AND AFTER EFECTION OR REWARD. If people treat ADULT DOGS LIKE YOUR HUMAN CHILDREN IS WRONG FOR THE DOGS PERIOD......the rest is just wasted words

    I know this is a 1 year old video, I just can't resist commenting and saying this is a good dog. I just lost my Bichon on March 29th, 2019. I had her for 13 years. I took her on vacation when she was about one year. It was an extended vacation, so I took her to a groomer where we were visiting. It was a very hot day and the shop was not air-conditioned. When I picked her up, she was blade burned and I couldn't touch her ears or legs. It took me about six months to get her to trust me while I was grooming her. I groomed her if not daily at least every three days. She finally settled down, but never got used to having her front feet brushed. She never bit, but would try to pull her foot away. Anyway, I just feel so bad for this dog. I admire the daughters for bringing him in.

Recently I found out I probably won't get to dog sit him anymore (He's not dead, some family stuff happened and I just wasn't allowed anymore). Watching the dog in the video jump up at the sight of his owner's daughter reminded me of Lucky, I started to brawl on the spot. Thanks Dede for sharing your videos. To be fair bichons hair is like Velcro. My bichon can visit the beach looking like a perfectly groomed show dog and leave with the worst matts ever just from a quick swim in the sea. A lot of bichon owners keep them on the lead and don’t allow them to have a full dogs life. I keep my bichon short these days so that she can enjoy the life she deserves.

    Hi Dede. I really enjoyed this one. I liked how you had the camera pointing to the rear end (of the dog lol), when you did the sanitary and the side view for the sticky matted hair around his wee willy as you trimmed that area so beautifully. I sympathize with both you AND the dog when you did his feet! The nails were extremely long and I think within a month or two, the nails would have gone right into the soft pads! You did an excellent job on his first groom. Getting to know him and his ways was crucial to a safe grooming experience.for both of you! Best wishes to you and Dave for the Christmas Holidays and thank you so much for your service to your country!

    honestly i just love to see how much happier the doggos are after all the mats are out and theyre nails are trimmed. Theyre terrified because it hurts and they have no real way of communicating that other than acting out. everything about his demeaner changed once all that was off him. I wonder if it would be worth you guys getting a Doggy Van for appointment pick ups [at an extra charge of course] for those less abled like this pet parent? there seems to be a few whos dogs end up like this purely because they cant get to the groomers often enough.

    Amazing how there wasn’t any biting happening. Your experience pays off when you have a dog like this one. Good job DeDe. I love the sound affects by David. 💕❤️🥰

    Love your channel, and I think you have it right in how you deal with clients, my groomer was exactly the same and I'm glad you talk through your videos. I live in the UK and I had a lhasa who would not let me brush him, so I had him cut every six weeks, but he was good at the groomers, go figure, but sadly he passed away November last year.

    My guess is he had a bad clip or someone clipped his nails to short. He was fine before that front paw

    I love your videos. It's so satisfying to see the dog cleaned up. On a side note it was funny, because I watched it with subtitles, (Auto-Generated) and it recognized the sound of the clippers as either "Applause" or "Music" So you will pause and talk, and then when you start clipping again, "Applause" .

    Hi! I have watched you for a while now and I think you’re great. I adopted a Bichon in November. His name is Teddy. I want to learn enough to groom him at home.

    When I bathe or clip my Maltipoo I sing to him or play him some classical music. He calms right down and lets me do his grooming...he even lets me brush his teeth, clip his nails, and clean his ears... he's such a good boy and afterwards I always give him treats and cuddles.
