This is about your values, the standard of right or wrong and if your standard of right or wrong permits cheating, you will definitely cheat, DO NOT DO IT, its all deception, focus on being a good version of yourself and do the right thing for the case of the right. make good choices based on understanding.

Thank you so much for the great lessons...It is always so challenging when the perpetrator is not willing to do the work to restore the trust...you even suggest that you seek help but they are not willing to go there...

I feel your pain. I gave up on this and focused on things that I can control. One thing that is sufficient is respect. Anything else is on my terms and only do things I am comfortable with.
It is very difficult to regain trust after infidelity in a relationship unless the perpetrator is willing to rebuild trust and do the hard work
