Bless your heart! I truly enjoyed that this was a real life scenario with a cat that is very much like my obnoxious 20 pound long haired ginger and I think I’ll continue to take him to the vet for his shave. lol

Do I have a cat? No. Do I plan on ever getting a cat? Also no. And yet I watched this whole thing twice. Absolutely top tier content

Thank you so much for this. My longhaired kitty does NOT like sanitary trims and sprays analglandfluid when in distress so it's always a mess and he ends up smelling worse than he did with poop stuck in his fur for a few days. He also never screams or talks unless in distress, and all the videos of calm cats had me feeling even worse, bit you gave me enough feeling of solidarity, that I wasn't alone in having to do this FOR my cat even though he fought me every step of the way. I relate to the feeling of hopelessness, you're not alone. Kitty has forgiven me after 5 hours, lots of treats thrown under the bed, and some sausage. Bathroom recieved a deep clean.

LOL.....Loved it. I just got a new kitty and he wouldn't let me get the matts out. I ended up having to take him to the Vet. The Vet suggested that I try a sedative 2 hrs. before I attempt that kind of thing. I heard CBD Oil is good. Watching your attempt to help your cat gave me some comfort of not being alone. Thank you.

oh my godd my fat baby harley is JUST LIKE coupon when it comes to shaving. i keep forgetting soup and sauce were neutered and it gets a genuine laugh out of me every time. nice to see that shaving is not only a world-ending business for my cat (drama queens!!!)

I loved your narration. And your cats are more shaved than they were before. I will give these methods a try. I usually scruff and hold my cats in place on the floor while they are lying on their side. I have realistic cats that try to get away too!

Have a Siberian older kitten and she actually did great when I trimmed her buns with shears but wasn’t excited when I took out the trimmer. I had forgotten about the towel trick and I think it would help to have the hubby hold the cat while I do the shaving. And you are right this is way more realistic than the robot cats that lay there. ;)

I love your video. It was real and showed you in a lovely manner towards your baby’s. I use to get my Macon cat shaved all the time and all until I realized how cruel it actually was. He came back so injured and cute up that I said NEVER AGAIN. I watched you video to learn so I can clip my boy myself. I know no matter how long it takes me I won’t be harming him. You taught me how to do the tail between the legs and that’s a great way for this area. I see it’s about getting down the towel process accurately first. The it should be easy. Thx for your honest approach to all this. Very helpful and insightful. Not to mention inspiring. Gives me hope to know I to can do this. 😊

My husband can hold the burrito but even with 2 of us, I don’t think my cat will be any easier! Edited to say…. I will wait for her to dry completely before I try to shave.

I didn't think I'd find a video or advice like this lol...needed it. Our 6 month old Persian cat gets plop round his ass and it's such a pain to keep washing him. Even have a motion detection camera with alexa announcements setup whenever he goes to the litter box!

HELPFUL TIP: Cover their eyes in the burrito. When cats can’t see they are calmed but they also don’t like to move because they can’t see and they know that were they are is at least ok, they won’t fall or anything. Also maybe try holding their scruff instead of their arms? Idk this one might totally be a bad idk but I know some cats won’t even more their arms when they are scruffed. So you could towel burrito, scruff, and do the rest the same and that might work better too. Every cat is different so we all just have to try to figure out what works best

Thankyou so much for this video. I rescued a kitten from cats protection (uk) - they told me he was a domestic shorthair - WRONG!! He has very long fur and the whole ‘getting poop stuck on bottom fur’ is very new to me 😭 (my first cats were short-haired). He absolutely hates me holding him in anyway that implies he’s about to get cleaned up. He’s turning into a full-time job with the grooming and trimming. Luckily he is my little star 🌟

Omg hahahahaa!! By far one of the best, most realistic videos I've seen!! I have a Coupon. Her name is Dorothy. Dorothy got banned from the groomers. We got her a face mask, burrito her up and trim that kitty's, kitty! She's easier to handle with the mask and we don't have to worry about her biting. We make sure to trim her nails first so she won't give us a Freddy Kruger special..

I love you, you are fantastic....I have six cats, all are rescued and belong to the same family. I can totally relate to you. three of my cats are long haired.... and I procrastinate when I know that they are developing these little furry mats on their bodies....two minute sessions are about all I can manage at this time..even with treats. I just hate fighting with them or stressing them out in any way, and I know that they will hate me for the rest of their lives. I get so stressed. I have to one cat taken to have her tummy shaved, and I swore to her that I would never take her a groomer again. Not the groomer was not a good one, but I do not know who was the more stressed, me or her. Every morning I wake up and have all these good intentions about grooming them, but my lunch time I am losing the will to live, and rather than look death in the eye by trying to groom them,.....sigh...... I let another day go by. Yes I do a lot of sighing as well. I have the same razor from Amazon as you have, and it seems to work well, I am so afraid of cutting them though . I use the burrito wrap as well, even though I never seem to get it snug enough. I have a partner that will help me out, and feeds the front end treats while I put my arm around them, facing the rear end then while they are standing and gently supported so they cannot sit..... can at least do a partial shave, before they explode. You are doing a great job, you cats are just beautiful. do not doubt yourself you are truly brave. I feel that If I learn to do it well at home...then I do not have to go to the groomers. I watched a few videos of professional groomers and they were all so rough and I loved how you treated your cats. I took my cat to get groomed and for the $120 I paid they didn't do a very good job. I already have a hard time trusting anyone with my animals.

Our cat kicks us. My parents got her last year, a month after we lost our 16 year old cat. We never had to learn to trim or clean a cat’s butt before because all of our previous cats were short haired. Now, we’ve got a princess with thin long/semi long hair that get tangled with poop whenever her digestion gets wonky and who then scoots her butt all around the floor. I can brush her but only to a point… then she bites me… and the brush… And she kicks her back legs when we’re trying to handle her butt situation. Yeah, we… Trying it alone is hopeless. She’s not mean. She’s sweet actually… but she definitely has an independent streak. She grew up as a stray kitten until we found her and she’s a stereotypical calico, attitude and all. … … To think I want(ed) to adopt a long haired doggo eventually. I guess my parents’ new cat is good training 😅 (I like taking care of their fur… but it’s hard when the animal isn’t being super cooperative and you don’t quite know how to handle him/her the right way… i’m always afraid to accidentally hurt them).
