It took me about 6 months after getting myself a set of gymnastic rings to get my first muscle up. Spent a few months before that doing chin ups on a bar and dips on parallel bars. I was almost 40 years old when I did it. I wish I had started earlier.

6 months to ring muscle up is decent progress, even pretty fast. Don't worry about the age, just look at the army test chart - requirements in such tests like pull ups and push ups for those who are 40 y.o. are THE SAME as for 18 y.o.

I am also 39 yrs old and it took 7 months to do one regular pull up from dead hang position 😂 Btw I was a little bit overweight. Now i am getting stronger and leaner every day. I train with rings sometimes. İt is very challanging and pleasing. My biggest dreams are muscle up and one arm pull up :)

So much respect! i'm honestly impressed by the 2 muscle ups! I can do very good ring dips and chin up but never done a ring muscle up. Good job!

@@Szopakleks stopped the rings as didn't see too much progression down the line as was 6ft4 90kg back then and 100kg now, now I am getting into strongman as my build is better suited for it

I was able to do 10 clean dips with rings after nearly a month with no dedicate training just hanging out when taking break from work. but the tilted grip you use to do a muscle up is what's killing me I cannot even do one clean pull up with it even though I can do 8 clean ones on a pull up bar with normal grip.

Had pretty solid base to start from, was able to rep out weighted pull-ups and dips before started the rings

Buy a doorway pull up bar for starters.

Ur legs are very muscular don't feel self conscious about them king.

It would be better firt doing some joint preperation in the ground just cats do before every stand-up. That will be good for everyone you are actualyying building a nuerumusclar behavior and of course isometric muscle where muscle fiber forms between two thendons.
