Real World Carry Guns: The Beretta 84 Cheetah

Ойын-сауық

We are always telling people they should carry a full size 9mm pistol with a light, a spare magazine, and a bunch of other stuff. But that’s not what a lot of people carry, so today I took a real gun I actually carry and attempted the Gabe White Standards with it. It was fun!

Having just discovered you I have gone back and viewed a number of your videos. I really appreciate your point of view and bringing a healthy dose of pragmatism to the gun world. So many of the channels have gone full “operator” and for the typical gun owner and carrier like me don’t provide much sensible information. By the way I have grown to love the 1911 and have several full size variations I am still looking for a light, easy to carry model? Recently I have been looking at the Springfield EMP 3inch in 9MM. that's actually pretty good shooting. I have a Beretta model 84bb. You are right the sights are not great. Brownells years ago offered a higher profile front sight that of course you had to drill and pin in place. Again I say that's good shooting. the thing with the beretta is to aim by the slide in rapid shooting. What do you think about some of the emerging advice recommending ball ammo in 380? The rationale seems to be that 380 isn't likely to expand so it's better to go for better penetration ball offers in that caliber.

Interested in the choice for .380. While I have known some of the shorter barrel, a la your Ruger LCPs to be advised to be fed FMJs, does that extra barrel length on the Beretta Cheetah give any terminal performance benefit to bring penetration even if in just bare gel and heavy clothing up to the 12 inch FBI standard? Granted, probably a huge issue down in gator country, well except for them lard fed bodies, but it is something I am curious on. Mostly because I love those smaller Berettas, hell I love the regular berettas. Though I EDC a 19.

When you're walking your camera back and 'futzing' with your timer, that's when your crew is switching the clean targets for the pre-shot ones. Gun Nuts Media thank you. I did ask before. It was right below I just didn’t see it. Anyhow thank you for getting back to me. I watched a few more of your videos. On one of them you were using a Galco fletch I believe it was. A long time ago my first brand new from the factory semi auto purchase ever was A GEN three Glock 33. Even ponied up for factory night sights. I was pretty young and that was a chunk of money for me . Actually still would be now but especially then. The GEN three had just come out. My One friend that knew a lot about hand guns showed me an article and all the ballistics. I had to have it. Hated the gun. Hate might be a little strong but I did not enjoy it and it was expensive to shoot. And I did not look forward to it. I tried to like it. Got some different magazine base plates, extended slide release, and a few more odds and ends. Still have some of that stuff in the box.Everyone’s had guns like that before. It was stolen when I was at a town about four years ago. An inside job. A “friend’s “brother. Reported it and I am done with glock for now at least . I don’t miss G33 at all. On the bright side, Galco fletch was the holster I chose. Now I liked that part of the set up. I will look around. I will start with Galco. They do have some good stuff. Saw a 2020 shot show Galco video . A couple things caught my eye but it wasn’t in the market for anything at the moment so I wasn’t paying very good attention. Might go hybrid IWB. Email Garrett industries last night. Have one of theirs. Like it. Thanks again. Take care. PS. Any thoughts on those thin LOk grips? I like this little thing I want to jazz it up some. Have a K frame with some VZs but never tried any other G 10 and don’t know of anyone else that makes grips for the cheetah. Not that the factory ones feel bad at all. Just looking around. Would might be cool but thiner sounds good .. thoughts? Have a good evening

The ONLY difference between an 84 and the 32acp Beretta 81 are the mags and barrel. Swapping out the barrel takes less than a minute, so it's not a permanent modification, and you can swap back and forth easily. I have an 85f...its such a clown gun. First its like double or triple any other 380s price. Second its so wide or thick i can carry my xdm 9mm compact just the same.....the only thing that makes cheetahs even sort of cool is that they look like little 92fs.....but then they dont operate anything alike.

Yeah but the difference between the Cheetah and a XDm is that the XDm is a piece of shit.
