Both are classy handguns from an era when guns, like cars, had more character than they often do these days. I think I'd still take the 84 for its frame mounted thumb safety and ability to be carried cocked and locked, as I'm not a fan of either the BDA's slide mounted safety/decocker or its pretty much mandatory DA/SA transition if carrying with round chambered, but I'm well aware that one can get quite proficient with it if they put in the practice. Thanks for making this vid - I had no idea Beretta made the BDA 380 for Browning.

Nice video! The Browning BDA is definitely a top quality pistol. I have the 7,65mm version. In Europe, the model is known as the FN 140 DA.

You should get in contact with ian at forgotten weapons about the more rare or forgotten guns in your collection to do videos on, such a collab would not only bring alot of viewership (although I know this is probably just a hobby) but I think it would be very cool!

An idea for a multi part series…original designs and manufacturing versus replicants, rebranded varieties, copies, etc.

It’s a good idea but cost prohibited since I’d have to buy all the guns. I am thinking of doing a video on a BHP clone.

Yup, understood. Funny though, the BHP is exactly what I had in mind. I have a BHP and a FEG that is similar to it. People who see it think it’s a copy of the BHP, but it’s not - different mag well angle, decocker. More of a SW59 than a BHP.

You have an FFL. How many of your machineguns are post-samples, vs how many would be super expensive transferables today, in general?

About 85 percent post samples. Which unfortunately seem to be going up in price like crazy as kits dry up

@@psp1921tsmg Yeah. There's a few guns I know we'll never get, stuff like Type 64s, L85s, that kind of thing that, if the laws were different both here and in their own countries, would come but that era might just be over forever here pretty soon.

You underline the similarities and differences of the Beretta 84 Mod B 380 versus the Browning BDA 380 yet haven’t really made the case why the latter is the better firearm, save the shooter’s personal preference?! Some might prefer the exposed barrel of the Beretta while eschewing the far smaller Brass-ejection port on the Browning...

  • @psp1921tsmg

I agree the open top beretta is more favorable ejection system but the identical controls of the bda to the 92fs out weigh that in my opinion
