BERETTA CHEETAH // Field strip the Beretta 84fs Cheetah or Beretta 85fs Cheetah and Beretta 81

Did you get a Beretta that looks like the 92 or M9 but it is just a little smaller and in 380 or 32? You purchased a Beretta 80 Series! This video features a Beretta 85 but the field strip is the same across all 80 series (84 and 81).
In this video, I walk you through the Beretta 84 and 85 cheetah takedown field strip process. Although I use a Beretta 85 in this video, the process is the same for a Beretta 84 field strip.
There are only a few differences between the few models of the Cheetah (Beretta 81, Beretta 84 and the Beretta 85). The Beretta 82 is identical to the Beretta 84 except that it is chambered in .32 ACP instead of .380 ACP. While the Beretta 85 is similar to the Beretta 84 in the fact that it is chambered in .380 ACP, it has a single stack magazine making it slightly thinner. Those with smaller hands and/or doing concealed carry typically choose the Beretta 84 over the Beretta 84.
The Beretta 84fs and Beretta 85fs Cheetah are great pistols to own and shoot.
Don't forget to watch my other Beretta content on the Beretta model 84 and 85 pistols! They are conveniently located in the following playlist

This is probably one of the best, if not the best, field strip videos I have ever seen. Camerawork is clear and well lit, verbiage is precise and to the point with no extraneous B/S. just the facts! Perfect example that others should follow!

When you’re putting the slide on, another way to get past the “hangup” is to push on the muzzle slightly as you’re flipping the lever back into place. Or you can forcefully rack it all the way back, as he showed. But it won’t seat correctly unless you rack it with some gusto. Regardless, both approaches work.

Thanks Rogue Banshee for this video. I just bought a Tisas Fatih, which is an 84 clone. I had some of the same issues with reassembly, thinking something was wrong with my gun. I think the rotating cam face of the takedown pin is the culprit. It’s a tight fit between that pin and the underside of the barrel assembly. Takes a few takedowns to loosen the tolerances up.

@@TheRogueBanshee Yesterday I compared two pistols and shot 20 rounds total, 6 to 9 months ago I would have fired 50 to 500 each. Today I released a second video field stripping both and comparing the two. You did a better job teaching as you went along.

Thanks. Love everything about my bb85 except the sight picture with that funky one dot rear sight. I painted the white front sight dot green instead of white so I just put the green dot on the white dot but the way I received it was with two white dots and I had a hard time with that. Awesome pistol though.

I got to play with the NEW 84 at SHOT Show. They are pretty cool and Beretta added a third position to the safety. You now have a cocked and locked position. The spring on the new ones are not quite as tight as on the older ones. Thanks for watching!

Just got a 84 BB, man the re oil spring is hard? Tips, no jokes please. I am already unhappy as Palmetto’s idea of excellent condition is way off. Internally the police trade in was horribly carbon up, the barrel too, the slide intervals were full of carbon. Need advice on how to super clean it.

Funny, I saw that PSA sale and was wondering how good they were. When I was an FFL, I used to but surplus Cheetah's and rehab them. They were in awful shape. I will say, police trades, be it Beretta, Glock, or any other firearm, were always full of carbon and took a lot of cleaning to make them decent. It is a lot of soaking and scrubbing. Ultimately, I sandblasted them since I was doing Cerakote jobs. Have you tried ultrasonic cleaning? I use Simple Green for a solution. But beware, you will still need to do a lot of scrubbing. Brake cleaner or Gun Scrubber is also good, but can be dangerous, make sure you do it outside with proper PPE.
