I'm a conservative, registered Republican and Bill Maher is my guilty pleasure. Not too often can you find this kind of genuine and funny comedy. If you lead your life without being able to laugh at yourself and assume everything is an attack on your character, you are doing it wrong.

I used to think Bill Maher was a Liberal Hipocrite. I have realized he is not a Liberal at all even though he still calls himself one. He is a Realist. Someone who can see the faults in both sides and speak out against it. Does he side mostly with the Liberals? Yes but he is able to say when they have gone to far and has no fear of being attacked for it. This is what Free Speech is all about.

He's correct. Recently a college professor got heat because he addressed his class as, "ladies and gentlemen". Quibbling over minutia has the effect of actually impeding any progress one hopes to make. Especially when you're talking about things that will change naturally once the bigger issues are dealt with.

I understand what Satan is meant to symbolize in both western and middle eastern theology, as well as I understand any fairy tale. I look at the abrahamic religions, and see only groups of people murdering each other over whose imaginary friend is better.

He cut them to the quick, and brought the smartassery that we all loved. He was all about being able to speak one's mind, which I appreciated.

FYI: her name is Sarah Elizabeth " S.E." Cupp (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._E._Cupp ), she's a political commentator and a frequent guest on Mahers show over the years and they also are friends - and yes, she actually always does have such a great time when she's on the show. :-)

It's the idea of collective conformity that makes most of today's liberals look bad. Examples are; blacks, LGBT and other minorities should think all the same way, whites have white privileges and racists, Jews and Christians are bad and Muslims are saints, open border is one of the solutions to bolster the economy and we need massive funding to fight climate change and Starbucks is the place to hangout.

I'm independent but I love watching Bill for the entertainment value. I like watching Shapiro too. I wish he put more humor in his monologues as well because he can be very funny when he wants to be.

Thank you! I'm not alone who thinks this way. This is the one and only thing I hate about Extreme Liberals. Irony: Maher's show moved from ABC to HBO to avoid the effects of viewer criticism - HBO's business model gets payment in advance directly from viewers as opposed to the broadcast networks payment from advertisers (who are sensitive to viewer criticism). Thus, the show didn't have to worry about criticism because the premium channel had already got their money. But that same invulnerability from conservative critics also shielded the show from liberal critics - Maher can call out liberal bigotry, hypocrisy, and egotism with no fear of economic damage.

I have one problem with this... I laughed so hard I woke my roommate up

Wow, it's strange being on the exact opposite end of where Maher is coming from, and still nodding along with him. Back in the 80's Bill Maher was a very different man (no compromise whatsoever, typically), it's amazing how we develop as a people, and as a society.

The vegan thing is 100% real. I once got shunned by somebody who was vegan for 2 years, meanwhile I’ve been vegetarian since 2009. I’ve noticed a lot of vegans these days do it so that they have bragging right, not so much for health or for the cause.
