Great information Sam. The SPA is something that would work well for me too. I have no children. Therefore, eventually when I pass away, there are no losses in of inheritance. The invisible man concept is something really good to know too.

My understanding is that SPA is only valid while the owner is alive. It's best to have the "Durable Power of Attorney".

@SAMLAMB it's called "Durable Power of Attorney". You can google it. SPA vs Durable Power of Attorney. SPA is "valid" only during lifetime of the owner.

The ones I've met want to be low key and at peace when they travel or live abroad If you are over 55 in the US, you are ignored or disrespected And if you are outgoing you are treated or spoken to like you are a weirdo. I would agree with your statement about those who vacation in Pattaya, Thailand...otherwise, the complaints are valid.

Thanks for the shout out Sam and Peter. I'm retired as of August 1st. Have hand surgery in July, and torn rotator cuff surgery in late September. Won't be traveling until at least February next year I'm afraid. Hope you and Razel are doing well. I'm keeping positive and moving forward. Take care guys

I disagree, most just want to be acknowledged that they're actually alive. When you get seen, when you have friends, when you have people that want to talk to you--and you haven't had that in years--it makes you feel human.

🤣🤣🤣love it Jim. Great comment. House near the main drag in Venice Florida. It’s quiet 95% of the time. Unless it’s rush hour and people are going to work.

Sounds like most relationships in places like Thailand, where you so often see a "farang" sitting with a bored Thai girl on her phone or chatting with her family or friends in Thai rather than focusing on the guy. Often, the man has to ask what's going on, as he's expected to be grateful for just being led around on a leash without asking many questions. Avoid long-term relationships with these type of girls. (Short time fun or serious dating, sure.)

PH is not the ideal country for foreigners to invest settle & retire foreigners in PH can't own properties full business ownership have very limited rights & many are deported foreigners can be naturalized PH citizens if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not the case of newcomers PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only

@josepanicucci8591 I’ve been to Rio, Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Chile. All more than 4 or 5times in my life. Just never felt comfortable there. Most don’t speak English as well as the Filipino. And I don’t speak Spanish, Portuguese or Tagalog. Heck my English is pretty bad too lol 😂
