🌟 I should've mentioned this in the video. But my mind was everywhere. The teacher turned in her doctor note for speech therapy. We're just waiting for them to start it with her. 🌟

Don’t stress mama. My son didn’t know all of his letters or numbers, and could barely write his name starting kinder this year and now he’s got them all down. And can start reading a little bit. I know it’s hurts our mama hearts when we think our kids aren’t where they should be but I promise she will do great and I think you’re doing the best thing you can! You’re such a good mama!! ❤

I wanted her to start with PreK because they don't expect so much from them yet. She would be learning how to write her name, learning the Alphabet and numbers VS reading and writing. A 2nd round of kindergarten will hopefully be the answer to get her on track. I sure do wish she could've stayed in PreK. Thanks for the encouragement! 💞

Arabella is thriving, her speak delay doesn’t say anything about her intelligence, Einstein didn’t talk till he was 5, she’s a smart cookie and she has the best support. Both my kids were late talkers and now my oldest is advanced class with a incredible vocabulary. All kids learn at their own pace. Love the grocery haul, I was motivated to order everything to make fajitas from your past insta stories, making them this week 😋

Marie, don't fret. You have a plan in place. Don't despair, sweet lady. My sons turned 5 in July and August and did two years of kindergarten. So they were 7 when they began first grade. Fastforward... Oldest is in advanced math, Alg II trig a year ahead of the average and had a 4.0 his freshman year. My youngest is ADHD diagnosed and have I cried! He's in grade 6 now with a 3.5 GPA reading at a 10th grade level and his teacher has recommended him for academic decathlon. My point is, you just keep being the wonderful, supportive parent you are. Keep putting in your efforts with Bella. There will be good and bad days. Savor those successful moments and celebrate them. She can do whatever she puts her mind to just never give up. Tenacity goes a long way. She's going to be okay! 😊

So glad you got your van back! And Bella will be fine. Speech therapy helps a lot. My oldest son had it all through grade school. I worked at my kids elementary school (filled in for all jobs except teaching) and they had teacher aids who pulled a small group out of class everyday who were having the same issues and worked just on that, so they got a lot of individual help. Not sure if they still do that or not. Keep the faith, you’re doing so well!! ☀️☀️☀️

I admire your strength Marie. You do SO much on top of working (making/editing content for us and providing an income) and you take care of all of your children so well. As a supporter I really wish your husband could lend a hand with at least dishes or a chore a day. I’ve been watching for a while now and you mention a lot that you do it all alone. I understand he works outside of the home but why doesn’t he contribute? If he does, pardon. I can only speak on what you show us. Stay sweet. Stay strong. You’re always in my prayers. 🙏🏽

You should ask the teacher to be officially evaluated and get her an IEP. You will have to request for the evaluation in person. This is something they do in all the states and they have so many days to have a meeting with you and then they’ll tell you the results of their evaluation. The IEP is where school will have to create a plan to give her that additional time to help her in specific areas where she needs assistance. This is coming from a mama with children who struggle in ELA. Good luck to you mama! Remember, you are the advocate for your child!

Hey, girl. I think what you have to remember with Arabella is that even being retained, she’ll still be where she would’ve been next year if she had been in pre-K this year. So she really hasn’t lost anything. I know it can be upsetting, my twins were preemies with August birthdays, and I intentionally kept them out an extra year, and I’m so glad I did because my little boy has dyslexia and speech problems. Each kid goes at their own pace, Arabella will be just fine.😊

I’ve been where you are as far as holding my child back a year. My son was already in 3rd grade when he got held back another year. I was devastated, to be honest. It ended up being the very best thing for him. I can’t really even explain why. He’s 31 now and none of us think about it at all. Lol I promise it’ll be ok! I know it hurts your heart at the time, though.

One I'm so happy you have your van back !! Yes !! Next I think she will benefit from being retained cause some way's she will be ahead when she reaches kindergarten. ❤️ But I totally understand how you are feeling as being her mother. None of us want to hear our baby's may be retained. I know I wouldn't either. Pray & ask God to help you deal w this matter. 🙏 What ever becomes of it. Marie, you are a great mother & wife !! Never let anyone tell you any different. Parenting is a daily task we all have to work at. 🙏❤️🎄🤣🎅

I’ve missed your vlogs and was so glad this was a long one! I’m sorry the meeting with Bella’s teacher was upsetting, I hate parent teacher conferences. I always leave crying. My 2 girls both have special needs so those meetings are usually all about what’s wrong with them and what they’re struggling with. My oldest daughter was born at the end of July so she turned 5 right before school started and the same thing, I felt she was too young for kindergarten but the school system said since she was 5 she had to do kindergarten. Academically she was fine, but because of her disorders she struggled socially. It’s so stressful 😢

I'm so sorry mama. This is all new to me because Adi has always been extremely smart. She is in quest now, which is gifted learning classes. All the conferences I've ever been to are good news with her.. It was hard to sit through the conference with Arabella's teacher. The words, "she's just not ready for kindergarten" keep replaying over and over in my head. 😔

@@MarieLoveAsbury yup I’ve heard those words. They hurt. Even though the school system said she had to be in kinder because she was five, we actually got bullied out of a charter school. It was awful. Her teacher and the Dean of the school ganged up on me during a conference and basically ripped my daughter to shreds with insults and pretty much said I needed to take her out. Then we switched her to a wonderful public school where she started to do so much better. She’s now 9 and is doing a lot better, she still has her challenges, but we’ve learned a lot

They put every child on a one way learning path, but it doesn’t work that way. Truly, the kindergarten curriculum is too advanced for the 5 year old brain. Does she know how to play? Well there you go! That’s the best thing she could know at this point. You’re a good mama ❤

My one son was held back a year at age six and went from struggling to coping really well thereafter. One of my brothers could not form a lot of words when he was a child and eventually it was discovered that he was tongue tied as a baby and it was not something the doctor had thought of looking for at the time and only discovered when he was six. It was a small procedure to fix and his problem just disappeared . It’s just a thought that you might look into if it’s never been looked at by your doctor. Wishing you all the best 🥰

It is much time and work being a mom but it's the best thing you will ever do in life. Just remember are children expect us to move mountains and as a mother it's more than mountains. Some how this reading thing and speaking thing can be fixes go to the library get tapes for her to watch and listen to. There's a program she can sleep with it will tell her over and over how to pronounce word's. She's got this. Your children are very smart children you are a wonderful mommy. Please don't beat yourself up tell yourself this will happen. She is a cutie. You got this Marie have your older daughter work with her to make it fun. What about a tutoring her talk with her teacher maybe the weekend's I will pray for you. God Bless you Marie and your family. 🌹

I will definitely explore all options for her. Tutoring is a good one. The issue is that she can't pronounce certain words and sounds correctly so even though she knows the correct answer, she can't say it.

Yhe good news Marie Bella will jump ahead, so take it as it is. It's juvenile sound rejects. I believe as a mother and grandmother you'll see her Excell from 2nd to third. Each grade a speech teacher and orator She's got this. Don't let this steel your thunder we all have similar trials and tribulations. Hang with it help build her confidence too. God is great and good. Each of our children have pitfalls. Concentrate on all your stick to it get a head. I'm praying, my grandson has excelled as well as have overcome all now skipped now in ahead big time Bless you you've got this. Just saying Later 🐊

My mom had to tell her that I could speak perfectly fine at home but at school I was way too shy to talk loud enough to be heard correctly. Lol. Probably sounded like I was mumbling! 🤣

Marie Bella will be fine trust me. My kids school is different from most schools in our district and the will keep a child back quick if they see them struggling. I’ve always taught my kids from babies at home even during the summer it’s just all kids learn different and at different paces. One of my sons (who was a twin) was born early like at 23 week and they kept him back because he was delayed and that extra year helped him so much. Nowadays schools have so may resources during school hours to help the kids. Ask them about putting Bella on an IEP Plan ASAP so whenever she restart KG she will have all the extra help immediately. Sending love.
