About the ref thing: if you watch any club's journey to a CL title you'll see referee mistakes go their way, same as Real. Even clubs that don't win have ref mistakes go their way, it's just that no one remembers them because they didn't end up winning. The problem is, real wins the most so those mistakes get remembered and brought up more and seems like there's more of em because they win more, although their runs to win the cl have no more things go for or against them than any other club's run in the ucl, win or lose.

I remember about a decade ago AC Milan had nearly caught up with them and were two behind after them having their lead slowly chipped away over the decades. This last decade has been crazy how dominant they have been in the competition though. The best part is, apart from some dodgy refereeing decisions (which is - despite it shouldn't be - a VERY subjective topic), you can't say anything against Real Madrid. It's not like they are destroying football with their money. They have spent little compared to Europe's top clubs (even broke Barcelona). Their president is a day 1 madridista, who just happens to be one of the most successful businessmen Spain has ever seen. Their squad members are unhateable, either through their legend status or through pure sympathy (though as his biggest fan I can understand why Vini Jr would get some hate). And the success of their scouts and youth academy speaks for itself. And, mimimi, "plastic fans", let people enjoy things. You don't have to be an ultra to watch and enjoy football. Most Real Madrid hate comes from envy.

I like how everyone hates SuperLegue, without knowing anything about it. UEFA could piss on your heads and you would say it's raining, monopolies are never good, even in football.

Playing in SL doesn't mean that you can't play in your country's league. There will be only a choice between CL and SL. 5. Most important: This will pressure UEFA to make some important changes, because they will have to compete with SL to atract sponsors and clubs. I could only say that UEFA will no longer be monopolist and that's already enough to support it. Think of UEFA as EA Sports, they have an absolute monopoly on football games, which means they don't put much work into quality, because they knew that people will play it and even gladly put their own money in their pockets. ok i do agree that madrid get a suspiciously high amounts of calls for them but that does not diminish their prowess as the daddys of europe. (coming from a man united fan)

I think you phrased my opinion about Real really well. I even though I don’t really like them, I very much respect them. I always preferred Barça because they are closely linked to my club Ajax through Johan Cruijff. Though both Ajax and Barça have strayed from their philosophies quite a bit lately. Both teams having splashed big cash on signing that didn’t pan out. There is just something about Real’s consistency I cannot help but admire. And at the same time they do kind of make the UCL a bit boring. I’m going to be surprised if a team other than Real or City wins it next year. I was once a bit of a Real hater, as a kid, because I really liked Barcelona at the time. I got into football around the 2014 WC and during the MSN days. And I kind of had a mindset that because I like Barcelona, I should dislike Madrid. Of course, if you’re Catalan perhaps, that’s a statement that may ring true, but I’m personally no longer a proponent of hating the rivals of a club you like. Of course I very much want Ajax to beat PSV, Feyenoord, AZ, Utrecht (yeez, many teams have Ajax as their rivals), but in European Football, I cheer on Dutch football as a whole. After Barcelona fell off un recent years, I started to dislike Real less. And in the 2021/22 campaign, I found Real’s comebacks to be so astounding, that I couldn’t help but admire what they did that season.

Its not about preference u and i can prefer anything but in the end its up to clubs and their players whoever scores more goals wins. had it been a voting contest i am pretty sure Dortmund would win this year

Why would you Real Madrid to lose against the most corrupt team of all time? Negreira, Unicef scandal, FC Barcelona deserves no respect at all. And you talk bad about Florentino for wanting the Superleague ( as if the current state of football with UEFA was any good either), but you don't mention how Barca's president (Laporta) has no shame in associating Real Madrid with a dictator or always crying after losing and making up robberies... On top of that Real Madrid is the only big team that is 100% owned by the fans with no Arab owner that just wants to make money. Supporting Real Madrid is supporting the essence of football. Real Madrid is the only hope left for club football before it becomes nothing more than a money market like USA sports.

The way he treated club legends like Casillas is very disgusting though. He is certainly a good businessman but you don't have to like him as a person to appreciate that, and I am a Madrid fan since the late 90's.

@@avelonzx With Casillas, maybe it went like that because he was leaking info from the dressing room to the press, during Mourinho time at Real Madrid. He could maybe do better whith Raul and Cristiano departure, but other than that he's the GOAT of club presidents and I think that after he's gone Estadio Santiago Bernabeu will be changed to Estadio Florentino Perez, which I woudn't mind.

Its simple, madrid capitalize on stupid mistakes, like tuchel taking off his best player when there was still a chance for the game to go to extra time, and dortmund and city not being able to put the ball in the back of the net. People say real madrid is shit and lucky dont know that they're insulting their own clubs, how do you dominate a game and still lose, doesn't that say alot about the team?
