How Real Madrid outsmart their rivals on and off the pitch in the Champions League

Спорт

Real Madrid's success in the Champions League is attributed to their strategic approach to player recruitment, financial management, and player development. They outsmart their rivals in the transfer window and run rings around them long before they step onto the pitch. This is achieved through careful spending, netting high returns from player sales, and nurturing young talent. The implosion of Barcelona has also contributed to Real Madrid's ability to be patient with their players. Ancelotti's coaching style and the club's reputation play a significant role in attracting and developing world-class players.

As a marketing manager myself, I’m really impressed with the way Real Madrid keeps expanding. Perez is an excellent business man that knows exactly how to run a business. Constantly trying to adapt to clubs with a bigger budget. The brand Real Madrid is something players see as an end goal in their career and this helps a lot. For example they can ask players to turn down bigger deals they are going to do the exact same thing with Davies and Leny Yoro. If they pull of to get xabi and Wirtz next summer I can’t see a way how to stop them. All the players are happy even the likes of lunin and Brahim Diaz that are clearly too good to be on a bench. Hala Madrid should change to Hala Perez

Yeah, absolutely. The "idea" of playing for Real Madrid is currently more valuable than an extra €50k in your bank balance every week, for most top footballers. Which is somewhat encouraging. We want footballers to chase their dreams rather than just accept the biggest offers.

@@StefanBienkowskiThat's only partially true. The very day M'Bappé's signing for Real Madrid was announced, his followers on Instagram increased by two million. That means money. M'Bappé's sponsors and advertisers took note of this fact and will pay more next time. Kylian is going to earn more in Madrid than before. It's just that it won't be Real Madrid who pays for it.

Excellent analysis. Thank you. 👏🏼👏🏼The net spending figures since 2014 is really amazing. And you forgot to mention that they have done this well while renovating the Bernabeu. With the new Bernabeu, their yearly income will significantly increase. Teams like Milan and Inter don’t even own their stadium.

@@StefanBienkowski, just the opposite. They have paid zero for the stadium to this day. They received three loans (€575 million, €225 million, and €370 million, totaling €1.170 billion) and will start repaying them next year. Around €60 million per year over the next thirty years. They have transformed a football stadium into a multipurpose pavilion in the center of a thriving city of 7 million people. The revenue from the operation is expected to be over €400 million per year, when it was 'just' €150 million before the refurbishment. 400 - 150 = 250 million increased per year. Since they are going to pay 60, the remaining 190 million are at their disposal. That's almost two new Bellinghams per season.

Brilliant job; the other point is RM is owned by their fans (socios) so there are not dividends and all benefits are for the club. Furthermore, all the income comes and only comes from sports results and business management, not from unlimited and continues investments from States or the rich owner as many English clubs or PSG.

Madrid are defined by their efficiency in my opinion. How they buy players, sell players, sign free agents. On the pitch, they are efficient with how quickly or slowly they develop players, and in context of the matches they always take their chances when they absolutely have to.

Early last season around September 2023 when we had several dire injuries to several of our first team players I got very concerned that we will be having a poor season and not do so well. I am so pleasantly and happily surprised on how this team rose to the occasion and even with all their issues had an amazing season and a super successful year and won almost all their tournaments and silver trophies, including their 2 biggest triumphs, their 36th La Liga championship and the biggest of all Europe the UEFA Champions League silver trophy, their unbelievable 15th silver trophy, a record which they keep breaking a lot lately. You have to give Carlo Ancelotti a huge congratulations for an amazing coaching and amazing players management. I doubt any other coach in this world, including Zidane, could have done what Ancelotti did any better. Bravo Real Madrid for being so good, so smart, so tenacious and have a huge heart to have maybe your most successful season ever. HALA MADRID

Despite what people think, Real Madrid doesn't have a huge bank, but as you point d out they are very careful with the money they have for the transfer market. 23/24 season is a great example, Real Madrid has always played with a 4-4-3. Benzema left and Madrid didnt have a central striker this season, even though we could have easily signed Harry Kane, but Florentino Perez had it clear, it had to be Mbappe. At the end it worked out, the best player in the world (if not the best one of the beats) came to Madrid because is a much better project

Hi. Great surprise to find your video. I found most English-speaking coment on Real Madrid a bit biased, I am a fan and supporter of Real Madrid(and I opposed Superleague), buy I don't like when they portray RM as "the evil one", is this sport where D&D, I would clasify Real Madrid as a Lawfull Newtral Paladin, who serves the gods of victory. That is the guiding objective of the Directives, players and Fans is TO WIN, by all LAWFULL means, in some optics these would be seen as bad or good according to each set of owns values; but there are Lawfull. On more specific today's there is a culture of pacience, the direction don't rush transfer, the sporting manager don't rush players development and us fans have come to endure falilure (2021 0 trophies) a bit longer. No one knows how much this will last, I belive its part of the team culture. RM don't demands to wins, demands to try UNTIL the End with patience.

Very good video, I agree with all the points, but I think you overstate how “head and shoulders” Real Madrid is over Barcelona. I think Barcelona historically overperform in the league while Real underperforms, and I would not be surprised at all if Barca wins the league in the next two years. Real Madrid can’t really take the foot off the gas. This year’s team had one of their best league seasons of all time, and based on xG, it was helped by a lot of fortunate shooting, and even with Mbappe, luck can run out. That would’ve yielded a much closer title race. I also think Hansi Flick will be a good coach, and Yamal keeps proving to be perhaps the best 16 year old of all time, so there is reason to be optimistic if you’re Barcelona. I still think Real Madrid is better than Barca, but not far ahead like PSG is in Ligue 1 sometimes. And by the way, I say all of this as a REAL MADRID fan. I’m just realistic.

"I think Barcelona historically overperform in the league while Real underperforms? Nah you're a Barca fan, who are you kidding? In case you haven't noticed Madrid is a decade ahead of Barca in league titles as well as holding all the domestic records. So how does Barca exactly outperform Madrid domestically? Madrid is lightyears ahead of Barca in every aspect, Barca is basically where it belongs, meaning pre-2005 era where they where no threat to Madrid. They only hit their jackpot once with their youth academy where they had the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi etc all coming in the same era. That will never happen again.
