Wow, I heard this behavior from sheikhs in lectures before Ramadan started . That people only read Quran during Ramadan and once the occasion is over the Quran placed back on book shelf until Ramadan comes again or for a special occasion. I thought this was a mistake my the lecturers . But it is so true. Inshallah let us all read Quran regularly.

Pls let me ask you: you now live in a secular country where you can still be muslim living next to many non-muslims (atheists, all kinds of christians etc.) My question: if someone born in islam decides later in life to leave islam, and you know him (friend, family etc), could to accept and respect that and still treat him equal to muslims, treat him (or her) same as before? And if he/she becomes christian, would that change things for you? Just curious.

@@h.v.5074 it wouldn’t change how I feel towards them. If they are a good person I respect them like they respect me. I have family and friends who are no longer Muslims but that didn’t stop my family from communicating with them. There are also non Muslims in Middle Eastern Muslim majority countries and they still live in peace or as much peace as the region possibly allows. It all comes down to the character of a person and if he is a good person or was raised right then its easier for people to accept them no matter what religion they follow. Of course I would prefer a Muslim friend over an non Muslim but that is due to the fact that I make mistakes as a human being and I would like a reminder from my religious counterpart.

Liss here is a very short advice on how to read the Quran: "And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively." Quran 17-106 "Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word." Quran 73-5 it is way better to read half a page per day and meditate on the meaning, than 40 pages quickly. Meditate in the possible interpretation by yourself, AND ONLY then check the commentary to see how good you are in capturing the translation meaning.. God have described his word as heavy, no need for speed, rather contemplation. God will help a person to understand His book if one take his or her time to understand its message, There are many level of meaning in that stimulate the mind intellectually because God choice of word, but That part can be fully appreciated in Arabic. Liss, Aside note, not recommendation just a thought: I always say knowing what I know about Quran and its style, if I were not native Arabic speaking I would learn Arabic if only for the purpose of reading Quran and I would learn Arabic classical language without reading Quran at all , so when I do master it I would enjoy hearing it as an Old classical Arab who were good at the language! It must be great experience! there are many stories about how they felt when they heard Quran for first time, The light of God in pure eloquent amazing style.. new style , not poetry not prose ..they could not categorize the style!!! Please share any question me or other brother or sister may help.. Actually to understand Quran is very difficult. For that you need to read the 'tafsir' (background, context and explanation) of every verse of quran. For that you need to buy tha quran with 'tafsir' in it. After reading the 'tafsir' along with the verses you can understand almost full meaning of the quran. May Allah make it eaay for you. Lots of 'dua' for you.

Not only that, but their are many different tafsirs, some of them is right and some of them wrong, because some scholars may explain the verses based on their thoughts or denomination, so their are few basics in the tafsir that you should know to pick the right tafsir. I'm glad that I know them, and I'm arabian as well, most of tafsir books are in my language.

@@csongorarpad4670 We don't think critically? Poor man! We have hundred of islamic books that discuss and explain the verses of Quran(Tafsir), and the words of our prophet Mohammad (Hadith). I can discuss with you in subjects that's related to the islamic faith and you will see that we think, and we don't just do what we are told. The intellectual sphere, we can share our thoughts about any subject; islamic or non-islamic, but there are lines we don't cross, like alcoholism, our word is one: “Forbidden!” Never drink any of it, not even a sip! Why? Many reasons for that. And so on with any subject that comes against our teachings.

I've read the quran over and over and feel exactly like you each time i read it or listen to it. Just one detail tho, don't expect to understand the quran just by reading it. 1: we understand some of the quran from the quran itself, ie: a verse is self explanatory, or, a verse after explains the previous verse, or sometimes a verse is explained in a other chapter or multiple chapters. 2: The Hadeeth is the second level of explanation, the Prophet explains what each verse means... you will find the context as well. 3: third level of explaining the quran is from the language itself in case the verse is not explained and we don't have the context in the hadeeth. So if you don't understand some of it, it's completely normal, there is Islamic people who dedicated their lives to explain the quran, you can read their work if you are interested :) Thanks for sharing, might God guide us all to the straight path.
