Hello Liss, thank you for this video which I think makes Arabic people feel the gift Allah gave them. about your Questions how an Arabic feels when listening to Quran, Quran is very deep in meanings and you can never get bored if reading or listening to the same verses or surah, and every time you will get new from Quran even if you read it every month or every 10 days or even every 3 days you will find Quran as new as you read it for the first time. Also the Arabic words of the Quran is actually the original words of Allah not like the translations which is only some meanings, so the calming that you feel is because your heart is reacting to his creator words especially when you know that this is Allah talking to you. And even if you don't understand Arabic you will feel the effect of Quran. It is not too hard to learn Arabic if you started and Ask Allah help for that and he will guide you. May Allah bless you and guide you to the happiness of life and hereafter life.

Just one correction: I am a native Arabic speaker. Quran is not written in "Ancient Arabic." There is no such form of "Ancient Arabic." It is a higher level of writing than anything we have came across of prose or poetry. Although we speak Arabic natively, we also have to take lessons and study Quran because its verses are way beyond our day to day language.

@@samantarmaxammadsaciid5156 It depends who and where you are. For example some individuals and countries speak very "Fus-ha/Formal" like Arabic, whereas others have an accent that is more distant to it. 'When you say speak' if you mean verbally than yes common folk normally do not speak that way, however a lot of people text that way. When my elders or elderly relatives text me they text in "Fus-ha/Formal" Arabic. News outlets, programs, advertisements and many other examples of spoken Arabic is "Fus-ha/Formal" Arabic. It might not be the status quo, however any educated Arab that learnt Arabic in school would be able to speak and understand "Formal/Classical" Arabic. It's a common phenomenon amongst other languages as well, they have a formal spoken language along with a relaxed version. This does not mean we do not know it. I am a native Arabic speaker that has met physically met Arabs from every Arab country in the Arab league barring Djibouti. When I met a guy from the Comoros we spoke to each other in what you would call "Classical Arabic". I had to do this with many Moroccans as well as. With people from Mauritania it seemed more natural to them, and for example Egypt have no such standard as even their president tends to speak in their "Egyptian Accent". On your second point about learning. We are born ignorant. No one is born knowing how to speak or write so we all must learn our language just as a Dutch person would have Nederlands Classes. However, we do not take "Classical/Ancient Arabic" as a separate language or class from another Arabic. We simple take Arabic Classes. My goal is to be informative.

...after years of efforts, this language opened to me, I felt like that I've found paradise on earth. Arabic is such a beautiful language, so deep, so poetic and so rich in its vocabulary. There's a big difference to make between pure classical Arabic, new standard Arabic (mostly in the medias) and dialectal Arabic that is New and mixed with other foreign languages. When you understand these points, it helps you to organize a clearer path for learning the literaric language of the Qur'an, hadiths and fiqh. A good pedagogy is also required and helpful. I hope that my review will help you for your learning project. Don't forget to begin graduately and to have fun. It is a full of pleasure path 😍

@@A_ALI24 you are the first Muslim to admit there are different riwayat with different words which means there is not 1 original Quran. I really like your personal Tafseer on 2:184 So if 2 Qaris recite the Quran with different words in the same ayaah that means Quran was corrupted only 1 riwayah can be the same as Mushaf al-Uthmani which nobody has so we could compare right ? Which riwayah does a Huffazz memo ? And If another Huffaz memo another riwayah with different words and evtl different command by Allah ? Do they fight each other ? Sheikh I like your taqiyya I give you another challange 2 different Quran riwayat (ie Quran recitations) changing faqh ruling . Example of new ruling of Fiqh due to change in grammatical position of a word: Qiraat Hafs and Qiraat Duri. In Hafs Recitation, Arjulakum (being mansub) is linked to washing, while in Duri Quran recitation, Arjulikum (being Majrur) is linked to wiping. Thus, we get two fiqh rulings from the two recitations i.e.: 1. Feet are to be washed in wudu. 2. Feet are to be wiped..........................I count on you Akhi hit me with your best taqiyya

Comparing English poetry to Arabic poetry, is like comparing the painting of a child to the painting of Da Vinci. The complexity, depth and degrees of freedom are on a different level. In Arabic, Eloquence is defined as the ability to seamlessly convey a lot of meaning in very few words, and ancient Arabs made it a challenge to themselves to master this ability.

here is a quiz for you to show you how Quran is precise (which is only one aspect of its eloquence). First whenever you read in the English translation of Quran the word MAN in the sense of MAN_kind know that in the Original Arabic text it uses the word HUMAN (INSAN, in Arabic) always, God has no gender bias, but few expectation, read this verse: "Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior" Quran 33-4 Here the word used is in Arabic text "Man" = rajul (Man in Arabic) Guess why God did not use the word HUMAN (Insan) in this particular verse? it is a good exercise and then , kindly see the answer below. Answer: Because if he had said HUMAN (IINSAN) in this verse it would include Women and some of which have 2 hearts in them when they are pregnant, her heart and the baby's heart ! That is how precise the Word of our Lord, Allah, The Exalted, The wise. Even many Muslims would not capture that subtle change of word, unless they meditate deep on it. Muslim Arabs will tell you that for sure!! many verses has different layer of meaning and all are correct, I guess God made it this way so it can be deep and simple depending of the mentality of people I believe since Quran is word of God the word man should be substituted with the word "human" , it should not carry society established bias for centuries, regardless of the gender sensitivity and or if the word Man become synonymous to both men and women. After all it is God word... the translators though may have opted for Man, because they may feel that saying Human have cold connotation but I feel it is not, I translated for years, non religious text though. the phrases and sentences in quran has mutliple meaning, if you read my comment that I left you in your reaction video of emotional Quran recitation by Al kurdi.. you get a glimpse of it. with many examples.. Quran makes sudden transitions that many non Muslim linguists admit to be unique and first appeared in Quran. The explanatory notes between brackets are not part of God speech, rather added for clarification so it is even more dense and packed with meaning. if this interest you read my longer comment in that video I cited earlier. May God give you light to appreciate his book, heal you, love you and grant you guidance and all of us ameen. To other readers please give likes if you find it helpful so others may benefit, and participate in the reward as it is promised to us, May God reward you , ameen.

So I'd just comment on the last part I'm not sure if u watched the video or not but Allah swt never pray five time a day and I don't know where u get this information nonetheless sure u may have heard that 'Allah prays on Mohammed' but again as the video stated Arabic language is not like English and translation is lacking in most of the time which u read pray here means praise and pless, even prayer u hear most of the time when people say we are praying it could be one of the two words in Arabic either its 'salat' or 'doa'a'. I really hate writing too long and i don't have enough knowledge in Bible to debate the rest of ur statement. But hey u r the closest to Islam that u believe Jesus peace be upon him is a mighty messenger of God. Have some discussions with some knowledgeable Muslims and who knows maybe u can find if it's truth or not or u r lacking is believing that Mohammed is a messenger of God as well. May God show u the right path no matter where its

Hi Liss, will you read my comment? I am from Indonesia, and i am Javanese. Here, Javanese people also have many 'types' of language. For example, word "you" has more than one option to deliver it, "sampeyan", "jenengan", "kowe", "koen", "panjenengan". It's not only about the meaning, it's also about the feeling, the context, to whom we speak. Some of us (Javanese) also translate the Holy Quran in Javanese to make us understand it instead using Indonesian language (my national language :D). And fyi, we guess that Javanese language is as complex, deep, beautiful as Arabic language, and we proud of it. Nice to see you in this platform. Thankyou, salaam from Indonesia. 😊

When you say to someone "Assalam Alaikum", you also mean: "My intention towards you is peace, and I expect/wish you have the same intentions". This greeting, according to some scholars, is considered as a covenant between people on keeping safe each other's lives, honor and property.

Some readers of the Holy Qur'an ask: Why the Last Message of Allah (Al-Qur'an al-Karim) was revealed in the Arabic language? The Holy Qur’an was revealed in the Arabic language because no other language was provided with the atmosphere and conditions to grow and develop which were ordained for the Arabic Language, enabling it to become the vehicle of the Last Message of Allah. The Arabic language is known to be the mother of the Semitic languages. The history of the Semitic languages goes back to Shem (Sam: the eldest son of the Prophet Noah A.S.). Shem and his descendants spoke Semitic languages which include Arabic and Hebrew languages. The Semitic or Abrahamic Religions include: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The amazing history of the Arabian Peninsula reveals that centuries before the advent of Islam, the Poets, Orators, Business men and Leaders of the Arabian tribes from the whole Arabian peninsula and the delegations from Europe, Africa, India, Far East and other nations used to gather in the Cosmopolitan City of Makkah in four sacred months for business expositions and display. The Arab tribes also held literary festivals where poets presented their poetry. The best piece of poetry/literature, presented in these festivals, as a mark of respect and recognition, was placed in Ka‘bah (House of Allah) hanging in it so that all Pilgrims may know about the best Ode: قصيدة. All such Odes were called: “المُعَلّقَات” (Hanging Odes), out of which at least 14 are extant and seven of them: المعلّقَات السَبْعَة are still included in courses of reading in religious institutions of the Muslim world, in order to teach the language which ultimately became vehicle for the Last Message of Allah. In addition to these odes volumes of Arabic poetry and highly cherished pieces of Arabic prose from pre-Islamic era are also extant. Some writings on grave-stones and examples of literature (in Standard Arabic (SA) which remained in use across the centuries and still being used) are extant which date back to 250 years before birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. For example, the king of Arabia: Imra’ul Qays bin ‘Amr who died in 328 AD---his grave-stone has his introduction and other details in the Standard Arabic. (See for details: ‘Arabi Adab qabal az Islam (Arabic Literature before Islam) by Dr. Khurshid Rizvi, Lahore, 2010, Vol: 1, pp. 77-102). In those days the Arabic language also accepted some foreign vocabulary. Thus, after a long interaction between the Arabian clans and others, emerged the Common Arabic Language: (اللغة العربية المشتركة) encompassing merits of all dialects and expressions of the Arabian Peninsula, making itself able to become the vehicle of the Last Message of Allah. It was a Divine Design that the environment and conditions provided to the Arabic language, to develop and grow, have not been provided to any other language. About the background of the known history of the Arabic language, an orientalist namely: Prof. Jaroslav Stetkevych of Chicago University, in his book: The Modern Arabic Literary Language - Lexical and Stylistic Developments, has very rightly pointed out: "Venus-like, it [the Arabic language] was born in a perfect state of beauty". (The Modern Arabic Literary Language…, Chicago University Press, 1970, p.1). The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, himself took the responsibility to purge the Arabic language from polytheism and idolatry. Any word or phrase which contained obscenity or a concept which represented any shade of "شِرْك" (idolatry) was banned and consequently it did not remain in currency in daily usage. The Holy Qur’an was revealed in this centuries-old and well-groomed Arabic language. The most eloquent Arabs found the Qur’anic diction inimitable. The most striking and astonishing feature of the Arabic language is that there is no modern or classical (ancient) Arabic except those words, terms and phrases which came in use with the changing socio-cultural conditions of life. It is because of the reason that the Arabic grammar, linguistic rules, use of prepositions, proverbs and phraseology has been derived from the Holy Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an is the first Arabic book; and, for the last millennium and a half the Holy Qur'an is the primary source to determine the meanings and nuances of the words employed by it in various contexts. The miraculous character of this divine book becomes more evident when we ponder that: · Every Arabic word, whether a noun or a verb, comes on a particular meter and all such meters have been derived from the Holy Qur’an. · Every meter has a particular meaning or a set of meanings. · All grammatical rules of the Arabic language have been derived from the Qur’an. · The Islamic Ideology, creeds and the Islamic World View can only be best elaborated and understood in the Arabic language. Therefore, the Second Caliph ‘Umar b. al-Khattab (R.A.) always emphasized: ."تَعَلّمُوا العربيّةَ فَإنّها مِن دِينِكُم" (Learn the Arabic language as it is part of your Din). Al-Bayhaqi: Shu‘ub al-Iman, Vol. 2, p. 257. · As discussed in our previous post, during last 1450 years the Qur’anic vocabulary did not accept Semantic Extension and the word-meaning relationship, particularly in the Qur’anic contexts, remained the same. In other old sacred scriptures the words have changed their meanings; therefore, we find that every new publication of the Holy Bible carries a caption: “The Revised Edition” as the employed vocabulary had substantially changed its meanings and nuances. In the context of the languages, it is said: “The Form is permanent and the Content moves”, which means that with the passage of time the words of every language tend to change their meanings. This is a natural law and phenomenon which occurs in all world languages. The Holy Qur’an seems to have broken this natural law as its vocabulary did not change its meanings during last millennium and a half. Therefore, it is justified to claim that: The Holy Qur’an is a Continuous Miracle of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The Holy Qur’an is the basic source to determine the meaning of the words employed therein. I explain it with an example: If, the most celebrated author of the English language, Geoffrey Chaucer (1342-1399 CE) comes to London today and dwells in Piccadilly; no one will understand him except some professors of the classical English literature. On the contrary, suppose if the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, (570-632 CE) comes in any city of the Arab world; he, peace be upon him, will understand the local Arabs and the inhabitants of the Arabian lands will understand him fully. · One of the most salient features of the Holy Qur’an is that the Translation of the Qur'an is the most difficult thing to do because its semantic, rhetorical, stylistic and syntactical beauties cannot be transmitted and rendered in any other language. That is why it was only Shah Waliullah Dehlawi d. 1762 CE, who for the first time, translated the Last Message of Allah in the Persian language. It should also be remembered that the Text of the Holy Book is divine but not the translation because a translator will translate a text as he has understood the Text. Therefore, the scholars in Islamic history, in order to determine the meaning of a Qur’anic word or a phrase, always referred that to the literature and usages of the people in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed; and, accepted a meaning of a word or a phrase keeping in view the linguistic citations (الشواهد اللغويّة) in support of that meaning. As mentioned in our previous post about the Arabic language, it is said: ." لَوْ لَا القُرآنُ، لَمَا كَانَتِ الْعَرَبِيّةُ " (Had there been no Qur'an there would have been no Arabic language). The languages like Latin, Sanskrit, Old Greek, Old Pehlawi and all other Germanic languages perished because they were not supported by a book like the Holy Qur'an. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has already reminded us: ."لَا تَنقَضِي عَجَائِبُ القراّنِ وَ لَا يَخْلُقُ عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الرَدِّ ، فَاتْلُوُهُ" (The wonders of the Qur’an will never come to an end, and it will never cause boredom for its readers; therefore, read it). Al-Tirmidhi: Chapter Fadl al-Qur’an, p. 143. Dear readers! The Eternal Arabic, the Mother of the Semitic Languages, which is a Living Language for the last two millenniums, is the only language which could have the capacity to become the vehicle of the Last and Eternal Message of Allah; therefore, Allah Almighty chose this language and revealed the Holy Qur’an in the unequaled and unique Arabic language. It is also very interesting to note that the Arabic language is a very easy language to learn particularly for the native speakers of Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Sheena, Baluchi, Balti and many other Eastern languages. For example, when we speak Urdu language we are using more than fifty percent Arabic words or their derivations. The Arabic language has miraculous grammatical rules and a fine script. Allah has made a proclaimation in the Qur’an that We (Allah) have made the Holy Qur’an easy for the learners. The proclaimation necessarily implies that the contents of the Qur’an and its language both are easy to grasp. Allah says: ."وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ" (We have made the Qur’an easy to learn. Is there anyone who would learn?) Surah: 54, Verse: 17.

The Arabic language suddenly started on the goal of perfection, and this is the strangest thing that happened in human history. It has neither a childhood nor an old age. This is a language that surpassed its siblings in abundance of its vocabulary, the accuracy of its meanings, and the good order of its buildings. ARNEST RENAN thank you for your intersting comment

Rubbish, Allah spoke to no one as Mohammad claimed Gabriel spoke to him. So how can Arabic be a heavenly language when we know God spoke directly to the earlier prophets in Hebrew and not Arabic.

I made sure of that and the Qur’an and hadiths do not say that Arabic is the language of heaven, the languages of the earth are created while the language of God is not created.🥰

Yes ,I’m an Arab from Arabia Most of the modern colloquial dialects changed dramatically in the time of the Islamic conquests, as a result of the immigration of Muslim Arabs, then their mixing with new Muslims in non-Arab countries (many of which became Arab countries today), as they began. To learn Arabic but - of course - they couldn't speak it. Just as it was spoken by the Arabs in the Arabian Peninsula before 1400

You're confusing the language with the dialects. You're like comparing oranges with pens The arabic language is exactly the same and doesn't changed a bit. The fact that some vocabulary in not used nowadays doesn't change anything in the language itself and its grammar.
