when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. as i continue my search for a sustainable reading routine, this time i read romance books for a week, and it quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month and me losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024. booktube and booktok have buzzed about some of these books… but did i enjoy them? i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with more books to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!

I’d love to see a lit fic, classics, or translated works for a week!!
I think that I have a big problem because, the minute I have a notification of a new video from you, I just go feral and drop everything I was doing to click on this notification... so yeah I have a problem 😶

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez 100%!! I have not stopped thinking about it since I read it. It is book 3 of a 3 book interconnected stand alone series, so you can read it on its own. But I do recommend going in order because the characters show up throughout!! I loved this video idea and think you should swap the genres you do each week
I live for your reactions 🤣🤣🤣 the only Booktuber who’s video I click on straight away 🙌 love from Wales 🏴
You are pumping out content! I am in thailand rn and saving all videos to my watch later playlist and everytime i log in to check for new videos, your face pops up! I can't wait to binge all these videos when i get home!
I love seeing you read books and give your opinions ❤❤❤ i have so many books on my tbr and bookshelves just from your opinions and recommendations so thank you for being amazing ❤❤❤
Omg I’m soooo loving ur content please please continue these long video I’m obsessed Mel your the freaking BEST you should read Husband: A Novel by Maud Ventura. That book was something
My favorite romance, which I would definitely recommend, is The Ending I Want by Samantha Towle. I read it for the first time a year ago, and I still think about it. It's such a good story, one of the best romances that I have read.
🤍🖤🤎💜💙💚💛🧡❤️💕 Omg yes. Other genre would be great. Author too because i know you do have many just sitting lonely on your shelves. Recommendation : I read 3 romances this month that i really enjoyed. 1. She gets the girl - University GL "I'll help you get your girl but oops i fell in love" trope 2. Single thread of moonlight - regency Cinderella retelling, kinda wattpad-ish but it was fun 3. Again Rachel - book 6 in a series but you can read it as a standalone. Very family sitcom and oh i had fun. I think it's a little similar to magnolia parks (idk cz i dnfd magnolia)
My all time favourite romance book is Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley. It’s part of the Chaos series and I absolutely love it. I reread it every year. I’m not really sure if you’d like it or not though 💜
I always recommend "Seven Days In June", probably my fav book of the year so far, it was fantastic! ♥💜
my favorite romance books i read last year was Forget Me Not by Julie Soto and Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam Young!!! seriously recommend these 🤩🖤
💜 I'm a huge romance reader, and finding one that's my favorite is hard but I would say that 7 Days in June by Tia Williams and Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan are two of my favorites. I did read Romancing Mr. Bridgerton and I have about the same feelings on it as you do.
I implore you to read the Bergman Brothers series by Chloe Liese. I adore that series so much, is queer, is diverse, it has lots of neurodivergent characters and book 2 is my favorite book in the series because of how I truly saw myself in the fmc so please read the series Mel, thank you ❤💕
I love Mel so much! Even tho I’ve never met her in person I feel like she’s so real & relatable. I laugh cause everytime my fiancé comes into the room he sees me just watching her videos. She’s the best
I don't do romance. However, I gave "The House Witch" by Delemhach a shot and enjoyed it. Super cute and cozy. It's not perfect, but definitely a fun read. You might like it. I recommend the audio book along side a physical copy or ebook.
Another installment would be great! Maybe fantasy or mystery/thrillers. I recommend you read Ready or Not by Cara Bastone (the audiobook is better). It’s definitely one of my favorites this year 🩷🩷🩷
I love the painting of what looks like flowers it is very pretty
I loved hearing your thoughts on these books, except for the Bridgerton book, I skipped that part simply because I am just now reading the first one I didn't want the spoilers. I don't know if I have a single favourite romance book though, but I am a sucker for anything that takes place in Scotland or the smaller british isles, maybe with lighthoueses, bookshops and bakeries as the setting point. I read a lot of those. 💜❤
For bridgeton I def recommend reading it in order. Give more insight
Hi Mel, I found your channel recently and I absolutely loooove and adore your energy
omg I'm in the same mood as you! I read on average 2 romances a year, and I'm on my second this month! who am I? 😂 you should try Rebecca Yarros' romances, particularly Eyes turned skyward (this is vol2 of interconnected standalone series, but you can still read it first). There's something really deep with military context and the past of the characters. def worth a try! 💖
Lana Ferguson has a book coming out in December ? I believe !! It is called Under Lock and Key. ❤️
I really enjoyed Diana Quincy historical romances Tempting Bella and The Duke Gets Desperate. Also they were published more recently than the Bridgertons series by Julia Quinn so it def brings a more modern take in a way still with the historical vibes but the men are still alphas but know how to behave LOL
Top romances I don't see people talk about are Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay and Last Call at the Local by Sarah Grunder Ruiz
It happened one summer by tessa bailey was my first of hers and so good! Also recommend icebreaker 😍
🖤i picked up Just For the Summer! i haven’t read it yet, but i’ve seen so many people recommend it as a good romance. also, i think it could be cool to do a “reading enemies to lovers for a week” video since a lot of books do get mismarketed as enemies to lovers. you could pick up some popular ones and tell us what you think and if it’s actually marketed correctly loll 🖤
I don't have a romance book I think you need to read, but I have two authors! No Spice: K M Shea writes books with magic set in contemporary, historical (not our history, but that's kind of the vibe), and fairy tale timelines. Of her trilogies, it usually takes the full three books to get to real feelings and with the exception of kissing, everything is off page. Her fairy tale retellings are pretty good if you aren't fully familiar with the original source material (I'm looking at you Desert Princess saying you were an Aladdin retelling!). I started with Magic Forged, book one of the Hall of Blood and Mercy trilogy. It's got wizards, vampires, fae, werewolves, betrayal, politics, mystery... Spice: Nora Roberts writes. Just writes. She has quite a backlist if you wanted to look into it. Do you like magic? Try Cousins O'Dwyer, Three Sisters Island, or the Circle Trilogy. Do you want to avoid magic? I really enjoyed the Bride Quartet. Want something with slightly gothic vibes? The Inn of Boonsboro Trilogy (an actual place in the United States) has a ghost mystery or you could go with In the Garden Trilogy. Want something more spy/adventure type? I've never read any of her books under J D Robb, but that's her too.
I loved The Eden's, my favorite are Layla & Matteo!
❤💜💙💛💓 first time viewer of your channel and I’m hooked 🙌🏻
I am flying through bridgerton right now. I love the lady whistledown bits can't wait to see those scenes for June.
So now I need to pick up the fake mate
Flawless!!!! i know you will love it because when it comes to Elsie Silver i disliked and loved the same book as you 🙏🏽
Oh, you should maybe also try The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever, it's also by Julia Quinn but way better than the Bridgerton books, in my opinion.
I dnfed the first Bridgerton book because of the disconnected writing style, but the show is amazing
You should definitely read Benedict's book!!! It's sooooo goood 🥰
Read A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux! ❤
The Nanny was so good, I need to read the Fake Mate now. ❤ please read The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella I loved it so much!
love love love all your videos!! totally random question, where did you get your media console under your tv (when talking about romancing mr. bridgerton)??
Fantasy romance PLZ!
I’d love seeing a week of translated books, maybe different original languages for each book.
Girl, please try Savage Rivals by Becca Steele one of these days. It's sooo good!
have not read any of the books but I also want to read Romancing Mr. Bridgerton ahaha I went into the series without reading any of the books. but the 4th book sounds good. I will read it after part 2 comes out tho because I want to be surprised by the shows' turns. 💜❤️💘💗❤️💖 Do you like horror at all? Would like an all horror week ahaha
I don’t read much romance but I really love “A lady for a duke” by Alexis Hall❤
❤Juniper Hill ❤
I don't read romance but I watchd the enrire video....how do yuo do that?! hhehehe the next one could be fantasy or unfinished series?

❤ Will you be doing LGBTQ+ recommendations for pride month? 🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
I only like queer romance so Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender is a good YA with romance in it. Or something fun is Greta & Valdin. Loved reading that one a lot🩵🩷🤍💜🖤
Pls read Yours Truly. It’s wonderful. 🩷
