I’m so obsessed with everything Lisa Kleypas. I’ve been binge-reading her Hathaways series and currently making my way through the Ravenels and I’ve loved every single book in those series. Like I’m losing my mind obsessed. 😆 can’t wait to get to Devil in Disguise. And I so hope it’s a start to a new series. I’m gonna need the kids of the Hathaways to have their own books now.

I have never read any romance books until I read some of Lisa kleypas. Chasing Cassandra is the best and my favorite. The one mistake I think Lisa made was rushing the books. I would have liked more extended time after each couple got together. Suddenly they just are older with children.

I cannot wait to binge read Lisa Kleypas (yes yes I still haven't 🙈), and these 4 are on my list. I've been extremely lucky finding 3 of them for less than $4 (I think my WPL is signed by LK too), I just need Forever My Love to complete my collection so 🤞🏼.

I had been reading historical for many years then I stopped after 1985 because economically situation. Sad because I never buy books and today I asked myself how I missed her books and others. I really regret now I am searching for those vintage books. Maybe eBay I can get.

I know the whole “hero raping the heroine and they still fall in love” thing was popular in the 80s. My Mom was a huge General Hospital fan, and this stems from the Luke and Laura storyline. Same thing - Luke rapes Laura, they somehow form a relationship afterwards, and then they had this big TV wedding that was a huge deal at the time. It was one of the most watched episodes of all time. My Mom said all the romance novels started doing versions of this after that. Definitely a product of its time.
