    Very calm calves for just removed from mom. Is the distiller mix from ethanol plant? A gate keeper sure makes feedin' calves/cattle easy. 👍💪🙏

    yes they were a good group... also walking through them really helps with that as well..... the distillers mix is from an ethanol plant and having a gate keeper is great Especially one that wants to help

    Have you ever filled that mixer wagon with straight dry feed without silage? Curious if it bridges in there. And how many pounds can fit ? Thanks

    i have ..... it doesnt feed out straight ground hay the best but it does.... it really doesnt hold much ground hay.... this wagon is set up more for wetter rations... with different chains and sprockets to adjust the auger speeds it can be made to feed out dry rations better

    Excellent video Ted. I very much like how you take you take time to walk and talk to the cattle to observe them to calm them and check for any health issues. They look really well from here. Do you get food nutrition analysis done on your fodder foods at least to compose diets according to cattle size / age / objectives (eg growth rather than finishing target for weight/condition)? Do you load foods in a specific order for some reason into the TMR? Also, how long after finishing loading do you let it mix for? Are you feeding mins and vits as well or are they on free access somewhere in the pen? Are they on tank watering supplies? Once a day feeding?

    yes the feed is all tested for nutrition and each pen gets a ration suited for the goal of that pen.. with this mixer we generally put in the more considerate things .... and heavier such as liquid corn and distillers grains first then hay then silage....... by the time the feed is dumped in and we drive to pen the feed is mixed

    Do u just get a semi or two load of the distillers when need them or will u get like 10 or 15 loads when u get a deal on them? Cool video

  • @tedkahler9738

    @tedkahler9738

    we dont feed too much per day so we only get a load at a time... sometimes even only a half load.. the distillers is one thing that you can have alot of shrink on if your not careful
