YES! SIMON KNOWS!! He had already chosen, Jurin, Harvey and Cocona as the Dance and Rap line. He knew of the vocal ability of Juria and Chisa so he forced them to be just as good in dancing. He was not set on Maya but he knew that she could be the bridge for both Vocal and rap line and knowing the group is heading global, she easily is the ambassadress for the group. Finally he chose Hinata over Kamia because Hinata could dance and sing well, he had many rappers already, so the final choice was Hinata... the support for the group on dance and vocal. PLUS what made Hinata special among them was her ability to help the group be emotionally grounded and stable, that's why he said, he chose Hinata for her eyes... she is simply that KIND SOUL. HE CREATED A SUPER GROUP that represents Generation ALPHA and a bridge from XGEN onwards. HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALPHAZ!!! MUCH LOVE FOR XGALX AND OUR PRINCESSES!!

4 XG songs in a top 10 is not a borimg top 10 simply because those 4 songs you mentioned are XG songs. Yes they are all the same artist but they vastly differ in sound, style, & genre. The only similarities are that they are all incredible and that is also because of XG.

I don't usually STAN artists, but XG put a spell on me since their debut with Tippy Toes and I'm loving it! XG are the most talented underdogs in the music industry! Alphaz 🐺

It's ridiculous how much they sound like the studio version! Not all of their songs are my cup of tea, but they absolutely are the most talented girlgroup out there.

I love how Kaia speaks about the song and them BAM! out comes Chisa and she immediately forgets her line of thought 😂❤

What is truly genius about Mr. Simon is his true understanding of these women's personalities. The songs and lyrics are truly amazing and he has a great understanding of western culture. But it's not just that, I feel like we actually connect with them from the heart. Your reactions are really pure and you enjoy XG so much, it's always a pleasure to see!

When you were talking about over saturating songs, I have the exact same problem! But when I tell you I listened the freak outta XG that is not an understatement! Like I have 140 thousand minutes plus on Spotify this year and XG has more than a third of those minutes. That doesn’t even count how many times I listened to them on KZread. But the fact that I’m not tired of XG really speaks volumes to me because very few songs and even fewer artists have that effect on me. And my goodness “WINTER WITHOUT YOU” has been on high priority repeat over SS, LR, PS, and X-GENE. What’s crazier is I know I’m gonna listen to it throughout the year. One of the biggest reasons why I know I’ll never get tired of them is that XG has gotten me through a very difficult year. They continue to shine, inspire, and most of all bring happiness to my life.

The Xtraordinary Girls are simply adorable. Their vocal blending is so delicate, heavenly and most of the time sounding angelic. Their live versions sound even better that the original tracks. Their individual vocal riffs and runs are a revelation, time and time again. XGALX and Simon JAKOPS (whom i stan the most) must be extremely proud of having created and produced one of the best girl groups. I definitely think Simon knew or expected these girls to be as amazing as they are and that's why he put so much thought into picking the final members and why he was harsh sometimes during the training process. Realistically, the final 10 trainees were all ready to debut and yet he still decided to cut Hikaru, Rei, and Airi as painful as it was for him because he wanted the final group to be great with each member having an important role without taking anything else from another member. There are a lot of great groups out there but a lot of the times the group's greatness comes in spite of their company but with XG I feel like the team behind them elevates the group to a whole new level and it's so satisfying as a fan. I don't have to worry about their potential being wasted.

He did knew team C was going to debut no matter what. He knows the talents and skills of all the girls at that time. Simon never gave up, pushing them. And you know that there’s 6 ranges of voices/tones right? Soprano, mezzo soprano, alto, baritone and so on... He heard those tones on these girls and he knew it’s going to work. I don’t know man, Simon is a fvcking genius. He even wrote songs before the group was fully created and in his head. He had pictures of XG in it already. It’s like the guy travelled to the future and went back. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Kaia 🎄🎉🎁

Both Shooting Star & WWY has significant impact on XG'S repertoire - the 1st one was the one who put them in the map, while the other one was a testament that they can do EVERYTHING. Down to the magnificent vocal prowess that they can deliver. Honestly at this point what else XG cannot do - XG'S competition is XG themselves. Thank you for the mad love for XG. Your XG deep dive earlier this year was so awesome. This year was awesome too for us ALPHAZ. ❤

Absolutely loved WWY on The First Take. I thought it was the ultimate version of the song, but their It's Live perf of it with the brass and sax, coupled with Chisa dishing out another diff flavor for her part of the bridge blew that thought away. Thanks for this, Kaia! Loved seeing you break down over Chisa again haha.

I know what you mean ... I've got five XG titles in my personal 2023 Top 10 songs list ^^ But think about it for a moment ... aside Tippy Toes and Mascara, they threw everything at us, the whole freakin discography, in this single one year. And THAT is the amazing, or even distrubing thing. That they could make that much extremely high quality tracks in one year - and each title sounds completely different.

I love The First Take and all the other similar types, recently come across XG and these girls are Angles, the rap, melody and harmonies and for once all in English too for a bonus, not that it matters with all these girls groups will listen no matter in Japanese or Korean, don't listen to anything else for the last 12 years :)

The way I cried watching the Winter Without You First Take though :') god I adore them so much, few groups can elicit such emotion from me these days like they can tbh

Kaia, I always so appreciate how much more K-pop knowledge you have than I do (I'm maybe 3 years into my journey??), but I don't always agree your interpretations of things, which is FINE. Except with XG, one of those few groups I discovered when we all did, the same time you did. Chisa's pre-debut dance performance, her elegance and flow, just killed me ... and then her vocal depth and timbre when XG finally debuted with Tippytoes ... and her poise and visuals ... she is no question one of my top 5 biases in K-pop.

Totally understand the saturation bit. Like, right at the beginning of 3rd gen k-pop, I kinda walked away from it all 'cause the style just felt saturated to me. Don't get me wrong, like songs were cool, and the industry was bustling with amazing talent.. it's just not going to be a daily driver for me (yeah, not even Black Pink or BTS brought me back). Fast forward a bit, NewJeans sorta piqued my interest with OMG, but after spotting and listening to Shooting Stars on the recommendation algo, it was the beginning of my Alice in Wonderland story with XG. The way the girls are and what they represent, to the multitudes of sounds they bring just screams "fresh" and basically had (and currently still do) me on a choke hold. But more importantly, how they've literally improved my mental state and well-being. I know there are folks that still battle it out regarding them being k-pop or x-pop, but if it honestly wasn't for XG, I wouldn't be diving back into the k-pop scene at all. They helped me reopen my mind to giving k-pop a go again. But at the end of the day, just like you, they are the top artists for me during 2023, and also very excited for what they'll bring to the 2024 table.

How can they not give credit to Hinata's vocal ability, in many profiles they put her as a sub-vocalist, WTF... they are all extremely talented and as time goes by they improve more and more... I don't know what it is about Chisa's voice, which drives me crazy....❤❤❤❤

Never underestimate the importance of Juria for XG...

Ngl, the first take version of shooting star was a bit off in terms of vocal. I can hear some auto tune in their vocal lines ( I wonder why they added auto tune ). I was really hopping for a clean raw vocals, that would be so good. But winter without was phenomenal and I personally love it so much.

Xg charges us from a different side every time, so it's almost impossible to choose your best song.

I enjoy their music whether it’s out dated or not….
