Yeah, Pispers. It's so sad he retired many years ago. Wonder what he'd have to say about the situation now in 2024. Anyway, his style of comedy was brutally honest, and I admire him for that. These days, I don't think he would even get broadcast. There's so much censorship around I wouldn't have dreamed of ten or twenty years ago.

As to censorship - no. Pispers was an ice cold analyst. I miss him as you do. Most of the US Americans know too little about their own foreign policy as to understand tough satire or „Kabarett“.

German Satire at is best. And years after his retirement, Volker Pispers shows, run around the world. That was at least 20 years ago, before Angela Merkel became chancelor.

I know your(american) "history" curriculum, so it is not surprising that this is news to you. Great Reaction and one word of advise, reduce the speed to x= 0,75 or 0,5. It will help you with the big blocks of text. Also buckle up, especially part 3 and 4 will be painful.

the best satirical and at the same time very true summery of foreign politics of the usa one thing is not right: "die Amerikaner", translate the americans are not only the people in the usa south-, latin-, middleamerican-countries are also american citizens, canadians too so there is no american president there has never been a president for the hole continent america

Technically you are right, but only the US Amerikas call themselves just Americans. All others don't. They see themselves as Cubans, Mexicans, Brasilians and so on.

Yes, the US basically screwed up the whole Middle East in the last 70 years, starting with the staged coup against Mossadegh in Iran, in the fear that Persia could ally with Russia. What funnily is currently happening.

that my eperience in alot online games too.... when USA buddies come me with this WW2 topic and "how we germans are" that they not really know something about there own history, and specaly the last 30-50 years.... (and no teh germans dont waked up one morning and thinke ok i i am bored and its rain all day...so lets go Conquer something) and most of them cant really be self critic, mostly direct insultet when u tell them something after 2-3 evening in row hear bad ww2 jokes that not even funny.... (i still miss the trial s on Cheney and Bush ... for an example...) so plz hold back with your moral s fact is most USA citicens are terrible bad educated, and most speak only one language, but never tiered to correct my english, and forget always i use only english cause it is WHAT they can... (know self my english is not perfect, but i work on it) but they dont even try to get better " blah blah blah we are world leading power etc bla bla bla (insert alot of crap talk in here) but genuine Intrest on other Cultures ? real open mind for other views on the world.. ? sry i really like america and has haved a great time there from 1999-2006 but i was happy as i was back home.. but its also nice to see that some of u guys oversea start to take a more critical Look on your elites slef when its hurt to hear some things u will not like greets From Aachen (NRW Germany)

Maybe Pispers is too complicated to understand for non german speaking people

Hi, your world view was destroyed by one of the last great satirists (he wasn't a comedian! but satire can seem like comedy) of Germany, but you're about 9 years too late. His last stage appearance was at the end of 2015. Without the German background you won't understand some things, because the lecture is aimed at a German audience. I hope there is some consolation in the fact, that he is dishing it out against everyone, who has done something wrong, but the USA has simply been unsurpassed in this discipline since the Second World War. I think Pispers would be disappointed if anyone thought he was just funny. As far as I know, he was disappointed that his satire had little political impact. But do watch more of Pipers to learn about your country's history that your government don't want you to know.
