Reaction to Tom Brady criticizing modern NFL QBs in his Patriots Hall of Fame speech | Nightcap

Спорт

Shannon Sharpe and Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson react to Tom Brady taking time in his New England Patriots Hall of Fame induction speech to call out modern NFL quarterbacks for not being "field generals like they used to be." Unc and Ocho debate whether the 7-time Super Bowl champion is being too critical of today's QBs.

What Tom saying is Most of these new QBs can't truly read a defense. They don't know where to to with the ball depending on the defense. And even if the defense play it perfectly, these QBs can't throw the receiver open consistently

Maybe for the first couple of seasons, but teams already started fearing him back in 2003. You can listen to the mic'd up players in the panthers SB. He was efficient even back then. As for his first "superstar"/franchise QB season, it was imho 2006. That team and offense had no business getting that far and being as good as they were, losing to the eventual SB champion in a close game. That was the 2nd hardest I've seen Brady carry a team.

Alot of times people miss out on healthy long-term relationships because of everyone else's opinion instead of their own facts; like they enjoy cooking cleanin and everything domestic, and it's their role in the relationship, but they allow people to convince them its wrong etc and ruin a whole healthy situation. And even in short term relationships, they can be healthy too if you’re secure with what's most important to you and they provide it.

I think Ocho is getting confused about what a Field General is. Peyton and Brady are the embodiment of that title they have complete control over their respective offenses. They can analyze defenses quickly and change the play to counter. They're basically playing chess against defenses as Ray Lewis says. Brock Purdy and Jared Goff are Game Managers they make limited mistakes and take what the defense gives them. They don't run their offenses or make complete changes at the line. As of now, Brady was the last General every QB including Mahomes is just different. Most are Game Managers while Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, and Burrow are game-changer QBs with enate talent good enough to propel their offenses. 1: Field General 2: Game Changer 3: Game Manager

QB’s can’t become field generals after changing regimes every 2 to 3 years….coaches, coordinators, front office etc. Tom was blessed to have consistency in his front office for the majority of his career, due to the fact of that, teams are in “win now” mode and if it doesn’t happen teams are quick to fire staff or change the whole damn team.

Brady is right that QB pre-snap control has gone down but he also overlooks how much better QBs are when the play breaks down. At the end of the day it's a different solution to the same problem. Back then they would try to solve the problem before the play started, now they're content facing the problem in real-time and making a decision then.

Burrow is flawed and always hurt. Herbert has never lived up to his talent. Wilson is a shell of his former self. Lawrence is an overhyped turnover machine. This might be the most bafflingly dense take I've read on the internet 😂. Brady's era had Manning, Warner, Favre, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Rivers and Brees. Who do we have now? It's Mahomes and everybody else fighting for a distant number two

They literally changed the rules of the game to protect this guy 😂 hypocrite. Also Tom was BIGGEST game manager with an elite defense every single year of his career.

Another clown. They changed the rules for Brasy? How! When? How many guys have 5 passing td titles and 4 passing yardage titles in history? Brady does, who else?

@aaronjackson9385 when he got his leg broke in the second game of the year and they changed the rule that players couldn't hit qbs below the knees... yes, that was Tom Brady! And it wasn't every sb, but the first 3 sb's when vinaterie won those games, Brady was game managing... stop lying to yourself, you know it😅😅

@@ronaldpatterson1701 leg broke? Second game?? Dont even know what youre talking about. The rule was originally put in place because Carson Palmer got his knee taken out. 3 years before the Brady injury. Vinatieri did what?? He missed 2 out of 3 fgs in SB38. The one he hit was a 41 yarder. Easy. SB39? He hit a 19 yard chip shot to extend the lead to 10. Philly scored another td to cut it to 3. You were saying? If youre gonna be a hater, atleast be knowledgeable.
