Been friends with the members of the band for over a decade, and I can tell you that they have worked so hard for everything they’re getting now. Courtney killed all the songs when I saw them last March, and usually vocals are the one thing that doesn’t translate as well from recorded to live.

Oh that 3 in one version of mara effect feels awful to me. The drumming feels like it drags like crazy. The very crisp and intricate way that the rest of the song interacts with drumming on the individual tracks is utterly spoiled in the 3 in 1 version. Go listen to them back to back. Do you hear what I'm hearing?

Will Ehrendreich really? I listen to the live version quite a lot and never really noticed it. I'm not a drummer, I program them for my stuff (I play guitar and bass) and they sound fine to me in the video. Sounds a bit nitpicky, no hate though

it's funny, I used to be totally into whatever a band could create in a studio with whatever effects they could come up with, but since listening to Jinjer I've become kinda a purist about the live sound. I think part of it is that I'm watching AI and robots grow rapidly in capability and have come to feel like the drama of human performance is something vitally important and incredibly special. By contrast, there is a lot of pop with lyrics that sound like they were written by an AI, vocal effects that sound like a machine synthesized the audio, and music that is either well within the capabilities of AI to write or is just a few years away.

Love how, in the chorus, the guitar goes in a different direction to the usual. Usually in a chorus like this, the guitar and the bass would just stay on the root with held notes/chords, but they remained busy, moving around the fretboard, but doing it tastefully without making it sound erratic. Fucking awesome!

I highly suggest listening to (and maybe one day reacting to, because i would love to know what you think) her work in Unicron which predates the iwrestledabearonce days. The entire EP "Powerbomb" is legit. Is it as crisp and well produced as Spiritbox? No - but it is worth every second of your time - especially "It's a Trap" and "Manic Panic" (The latter of which may contain her best cleans ever in my opinion and they come out of nowhere). I think Courtney's evolution has been incredible and it's really nice to see that she is finally being recognized as a top tier artist.

When I hear you talking about how you like the guttural and emotional scream of Courtney, I can't stop thinking that you should defenitely go back to some Gojira stuff. Joe's voice is so powerful on a few of their songs, especially on the Album "The way of all Flesh". The Art of Dying or the Gift of Guilt could be a great songs to listen to after Silvera. There's also a live version from another song to watch - Gojira - Hellfest 2013 - Where Dragons Dwell. 10 minutes of pure epicness. It is something.

Such a good song. Always good to hear your take on some of my favorite songs! I was curious, do you have any original music from when you were playing in a band on a regular basis? Would love to hear your style! Also, another good band I haven’t seen on here yet, Silent Planet. They’ve got pretty extensive list of awesome songs, Panic Room, and Trilogy would both be great places to start.

Hey man, big fan of your channel, keep doing what you're doing dude. Also, if I could point you back to Japan when you get a chance, love to get your thoughts on the group Broken By The Scream, either Sayonara Birthday or Koi Ha Otome No Nakidokoro. Don't wanna give too much away about the music, but they absolutely deserve to be much bigger. Cheers buddy, keep it rockin!

Nicely done once again! I'd like to hear your comments on Ne Obliviscaris. Since you like to pick songs apart you'd have your work cut out for you with them. It really doesn't matter which song you pick first because you'll probably end up doing a few of them, but the default is "And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope" live version. Another one in the same vein is the band Persefone.

If I want an awesome in depth reaction by some very classy and positive person, I come here!! Subscribed! And Spiritbox is my new favorite band. They just keep on delivering! Btw I would be very curious to get your reaction on Dreh Auf by We Butter The Bread With Butter. It`s a German Band a bit goofy like Eskimo Callboy (nowhere near as funny). It`s already an older song, but it has an interesting structure which I would love to hear your comments on.

Chase before you completely blow up please try Enter Shikari. If you'd prefer a heavier vibe, Aneasthetist, Last Garrison. The newer stuff is cool too "T.I.N.A" "Marrionettes 1/2." They're very underappreciated with reactors and I think a lot of Shikari fans would love your level of analysis.

I put these peeps on repeat for a few days, thanks again, and I found that I would put them and newer Deftones on the same Playlist. If you haven't kept up with Deftones, check out their album Koi No Yokan. I grew up with White Pony, but Koi No Yokan ended up being my favorite album. Check out the song Rosemary if you're looking for something specific.

Love the video for this song but in terms of music, this one is absolutely better live, specifically the SiriusXM Liquid Metal version they did. If you were gonna check out a live version do that, because the mixing is literally the best I've ever heard in any song. It's jaw droppingly good how well the entire concert was mixed, frankly.
