My first ever dual reaction and I couldn't have picked a better song and band to do it. Reacting to Spiritbox Rule Of Nines official video and Vocal Recording was a real treat.

Since your Holy Roller video, my neighbours have been listening to this band extensively (not on their own volition, though.) This song got the "send me a link, you *uncensored word in my language*", text message. 🤣 A big thank you to the people who suggested it, and to you for analysing and introducing us to awesome music!
They are pretty much an unsigned indie band right now and actually haven't dropped a full length debut album yet but they also definitely deserve more attention and recognition.

You know your music!!
They are my second favorite band after Jinjer. I’m a proud Spiritbox Patreon and had the honor to see them playing live in Vienna just before the lock down. Eugene and Tatiana from Jinjer had a live stream some days ago and they got a question about what other female fronted bands they like, Eugene said that they respect and Admire Spiritbox and Oceans of Slumber,, and with good reason. Also the previos band forCourtney and Mike Stringer (they are Married) was Iwrestledabearonce and this band was a huge inspiration for Jinjer in their recent years.
I'm so glad you checked out more Spiritbox! Fantastic band. I can tell you will appreciate their music quite a bit! I hope to see more reactions to this band asap! There hasn't really been a Spiritbox wave for reaction channels. The past two years or so we've seen a decent amount, but never really any extended interest, aside from a handful of channels. Always waiting for the next one lol! Excited for your "Blessed Be" reaction!! Here are some Spiritbox songs I know you will appreciate: "Belcarra" (music video + live one-take performance) + "Electric Cross" + "The Beauty of Suffering (live one-take performance)" + their trilogy of songs titled "The Mara Effect" performed live at Silverside Sound -- 3 songs, 1 interlude (16 minutes total -- an outstanding performance)! I've been watching your channel for a few months now, glad to see + hope to see more Spiritbox in the future! 👍👍👍 Also thanks for promoting their Patreon!

Blessed Be another good song
The singer Courtney and the guitarist Mike are married. He also writes the drums for the songs. Probably why they are so in sync haha

Really happy you are enjoying them. Their fan base (including me!) is one of the most loyal I've ever seen. This band is something special, and the members are super nice :) welcome to team Spiritbox! 🍔🍔
@10:21 One thing I’ve never seen anyone mention in a Spiritbox reaction/review is that Mike has done this with his guitar on a few songs, but he’s doing a clean funky rhythm and he’s tuned so low it gets blended with the bass really well. Glad you picked up on that!
This song deserves a fucking Grammy.

I second this!!!
Drummer is playing triplets to the 4/4 groove. Her vocal line also implies a triplet feel, which is probably why it sounds “slow” like you said. Really cool use of hemiola! Anyways, Courtney is such an awesome singer. Her clean vocals are very unique especially among metal vocalists...I honestly can’t think of anyone who sounds remotely like her. Edit: it’s actually not triplets but a dotted quarter pattern. Still does create that 3 over 4 hemiola feel though.

Repeating a comment that I made in the community "I like your comments about supporting musicians by buying their merch and streaming their music. Additionally we can support their YT channels (and this one as well) by letting the ads run for at least 30 secs (while getting something to drink/eat, go to the toilet, do our make up, pick our noses,....) to make sure it's counted as a view and the advertiser has to pay. influencermarketinghub.com/4-factors-affect-youtube-earnings-potential/"

They are excellent with how they interact with their fans, and show everything behind the scenes from writing songs, what gear and settings they use, to recording footage, etc. Spiritbox is on the rise, and will be at the top soon... I recommend you checkout the Mara Effect live at Silverside Studio. It is all 3 parts in one long performance. Amazing stuff. Cheers!

Best reaction channel I have seen. To say they are underrated is an understatement! I think they are still working 9-5s, which is insane when you hear any of their music or see their music videos which they make themselves. Can't wait to see your reaction to Blessed Be!

I like this song better than what I heard from them earlier. The growls are good but I like her cleans better. Makes this song kinda trippy.

Awesome reaction yet again, man. Love the Channel, hope it takes off for ya!
The synchronicity between the drums and guitars can be attributed to the fact that the guitarist Mike writes all the drum and guitar parts and then the drummer may tweak it here and there. Mike is a very good composer and all-around musician.
I have no words for this band, really, it was an amazing discovery. Your review was awesome as well, it really nailed down every awesome aspect of their musicality and components, really great!
She’s stunning. The band is tight. Back to back was awesome! Thanks.
Only stumbled across your channel the other day. Easily the best reactor on here (although these videos go beyond reactions). Every video is full of incredible insight, analysis and attention to detail. Brilliant! Also you are correct that Spiritbox are still in their "up and coming" phase. Won't be long until they explode.
i knew you like THIS GREAT SONG... courtneys former band inspired jinjer a lot and thats a reason why the style of some parts sounds jinjer like the style of rule of nines reminds me about korn's song "system", played in movie "queen of the damned" - give me the same vibes AND one of the best song ending vocaly the recording (2nd) is better cause of less effects...but i have to say the 2nd half of it courtney is more into it as in the beginning. seems like she needs the first screams to push after with her cleans PLUS: her dry humor is absolutely my thing i have to say it again: i really like your reactions and explainings, its unique and seems to be so honestly...really like it and i like your taste of music i think, all fits so far...stay that unique days and growing will not stop
I absolutely love your reactions! so incredibly insightful! I happen to really love the pauses because you always fill them with such great explanations and depth behind the music, and then you know exactly when to go back a couple seconds so it can lead in again. LOVE IT!! also Spiritbox is an amazing band, I only found them earlier this year and they've quickly become one of my favorites. Highly recommend Blessed Be or Perennial by them next! Great reaction and analysis, Chase. In my rediscovery of metal as a **cough** middle aged guy, I think I prefer female vocalists (it helps that I started with Jinjer). They provide such a rich range of talent and technique, from ethereal soft vocals to brutal growls that guys often can’t duplicate. Thanks for another great discussion. You are putting great content out there.
Just subscribed... Have been enjoying your insight into rock music last couple days, figured why not... 🙏🏼!
Spoil Engine , Golden Cage , another diamond I guarantee you will love , great reaction mate🤘💜🤘
They're so tight, and each part is like clockwork, yet they're all slightly off-kilter, so when that straighter groove happens after the first chorus, it has huge impact! And just as quickly the beat is summarily pushed down the stairs. It's amazing.
The first verse what the drummer is doing is playing a polyrhythm, which just means mashing two time signatures together basically.
