Bloody fucking hell. That decision to switch to screaming during the high part at the end was one of the best things that has happened in music. Emotion over 9000.

The first time I saw this video, I was like wow, the screams during that section really give the song that extra heaviness, and was even more goose bump inducing.

it was brutal yes, but the highs add more intensity for me personally. It's the same with Jinjer's pisces, where tatiana does the "searching for a hook to catch on, and see their sun beam" with a high voice on the video but growls it live (the album has both overlayed onto each other, but i prefer only highs)

@@d00mnoodle i get what you're saying, it's probably personal preference. i really love this song, doesn't matter if this version or the album version. i don't even favour this version because its more brutal but rather because the screams just carry much more emotion for me.. but again, personal preference. i think i remember an interview with tatiana where she's saying she's screaming the high part live because she's afraid to mess it up and thus prefers to stay in her safe zone. i mean i get that, but i'd love her to do that high part in pisces live :D

@@pelicanine So for me it was on the one hand the fact that during a live take she gave the best of her brute, beautiful voice so flawlessly - on the other hand you can see that she totally feels the lyrics and the music, and that makes it for me again many times more intensively. Do you understand what I mean? Needless to say she's also beautiful lol so it's a win-win-win for me :) it's just a shame it's not on spotify!

I mean, I like this version better because of the change in the last chorus, but how exactly is this any more “live” than what you hear on the record? The record was probably taking from 3-5 takes done exactly the same as this (again, apart from arrangement changes), with her “getting into it” just as much. I understand this argument when it’s talking about full band live, musicians do react differently when they’re playing with other musicians vs just listening to playback. I’d also understand if it’s in the context of a full set, where the fact that they’ve sung many songs and will keep singing more changes the approach entirely (arguably making the vocals more human). But the main different between these studio “one takes” and a recording is that a recording usually comes from the best from a few of these takes, but apart from that I don’t see much of a different in the situation the musicians are put into.

Dont want to say it's super easy but switching from true chord to false chord (talking/singing to screaming) is not hard if you know how to scream. It takes time and she obviously is a master at this but its not thaaat hard. Source: Im a hobby vocalist screaming for 6 years.

I just discovered them and her voice is so amazing. Her technicality on both sides is crazy. She has so much range and she adds so much more to it with the little finesse switching back and forth from her head voice and chest voice in her singing. Even her screaming has her natural voice underneath. She does with her breathing too. Sometimes dropping a note or notes from singing and replacing it with a breath or breaths. It’s pretty fantastic. I have no idea how I never heard of them before but I am enjoying going through their catalog of music that has already been out. Great song too.
