Being born and raised in Germany about 5 kilometers away from the Dutch border, I would love to see the Netherlands play Germany in the finals. Should the Netherlands win, I would just hop over the border and party with them 🙂

What I like the most of this kind of mars. Is the respect for each other. No fight, protect each other, not angry about faith or collor land of fan.

I was there on the Oranje walk to the stadium, as a Dutch fan for the day ( I''m a Scot from Edinburgh who got a ballot ticket and wanted to just be there ). The busts were Robbedn, Davids and Gullit, plus I think two others. I was just tucked in behind the bus and them. Absolutely fantastic and what a support base. Families, women and kids, no problems at all. Ditto after the game after losing. brilliant support and experience of a lifetime. All the best.

yea but were slowly getting better now.... 3 against romania, anything can happen against turkey. if we win that is a huge step to get further down the road. their becoming more certain of teamplay now.

I cant help but be annoyed by the conditional support of some fans sometimes though. The team wins/plays well? Everyone loves them. The team has a bad day, loses, and people can get downright nasty as if they where personaly betrayed by the team. I dont think any team is out to lose or play bad on purpose. (Or I should hope.) So if your a fan, support them in their times of need. Not only when they win. This goes for any team anywhere. I dont consider anyone a fan if they are only a fan when things go well.

the song at 1:49 is basically the most popular crowd song in the netherlands so many events play this to get the crowd hyped, and it definitely does the job well

I think the referee was crappy. Not prejudiced or something at all, but at certain moments I would argue he should have handed out a card or two, for what I can only call blatant fouls.

Maybe one of the busts is Marco van basten .

We have a saying: "doe maar normaal dan doe je al gek genoeg" (act normal then you are doing silly enough) but that goes out of the window when there is soccer involved.

I think there are 5: different Gullit, Robben, Van Basten, Cruyff and a 5th one i couldnt see well enough.

One reason the numbers are so big is because this is organised. They want all the Dutch fans in one place so that they don't spread around the city and misbehave. So they create these 'orange zones' in the city where fans can come to. There is Dutch police there, safety stuarts, etc. And then they walk behind that bus to the stadium. All together, in a controlled manner. It's all just crowd control really. And of course they make it fun, so people actually want to be there. But the doubledecker bus, the music, the area, is all organised by Dutch and local police. It might look spontaneous, it's really not. One thing I think is unfortunate is that they call these walks to the stadium 'Orange Marches'. I don't have to explain to you as a Brit why I think that's a bit tonedeaf, especially when you know that the orange used by the Nothern Irish Protestants actually is the same orange as the Dutch orange, referring to William of Orange and his Protestantism. It's not a coincidence or anything. Any name but 'Orange Marches' would have been perfectly fine.

The Dutch song with tutututu is special. The dance and the invasion from our Dutch comes from WW2 that we want to invade that country back in a lovely way. There's always a tension between the Dutch and Germans when it comes to football. This was our invite to march into Germany. Most of my countrymen marched across the border. The Euro and World Cup gives us a reason. The Euro cup was in their own country so we had to. This until the word cup against Germany starts in another country. Although the song is resend, we'd wanted to march and be united. See it as a football payback. To make a long story short, it's basically saying: "Fancy, look at the F U' you!
