The older man, Sale, is Finland's president Sauli Niinistö. The other "hipster" guy, Alex, is Alexander Stubb, Finland's prime minister 2014-2015. We have a presidential election going on right now in Finland and out of 9 candidates Alex Stubb is leading the polls and might take over as president after Niinistö, who has had his two 6 year terms (the maximum allowed by our constitution).

You have to remember that the sketch is nine years old and times have changed. This was a time when Crimea had only been conquered 6 months earlier and Finland was not allowed to export foodstuffs to Russia under EU sanctions. In the sketch, Finnish decision-makers are also made fun of because the cheese export ban was not enough in everyone's opinion and now we see the result.

Wow, these impressions were absolutely spot on Kari Ketonen, the guy who played Putin, is a very famous and extremely talented Finnish comedian/actor

So as mentioned already, the two guys in the beginning are the Finnish president Sauli Niinistö and the then prime minister Alexander Stubb. Meanwhile the interpreter Svetlana Rönkkö is a character made for that years character competition, which is a major part of Putous.

This is the best sketch from Putous because it's almost true.

Oh, the Putin cheese! Half-priced cheese due to the sanctions in 2014, I remember it well, caused even some constipation if memory serves :) Those characters are president Niinistö and prime minister Stubb. After 2022 our attitude has though quite changed, now we are a Nato member re-arming pretty busily, and even the starting point was not that bad.

Lol the tv show host is our new president. The old man is our old president. He used to be this some sort of magazine poster boy, I mean he does running and has teeth and looks like a finnish swede. He's also really good at seeming like a very sleazy money man. Niinistö is nowadays these carefully thinking, not hasty old man. As a president he might've seemed initially teethless, but in the crisis he was the man in place. He just wouldn't go out spitting out anything that comes to mind unlike certain female prime minister liked to do. He would speak and be strict when it was time to change the pace and tone, act in unison with the parliament and needed politic tide. Stubb still seems like a poster boy, but he's probably also gonna change as a character in the new role and be less annoying.

You should watch a sketch called 'ilmatilanloukkaus' from the comedy show Spede Show. That show was in television in the 1970s-1980s and Ilmatilanloukkaus is great example of Russian (or USSR's at the time) politics
