Not really, people just want a decent standard of living and enough time to do the things they like while still healthy and young, or see their family and friends who may be overseas. We are also now connected globally through social media and people know how employees are treated in different countries. These factors are killing productivity through burnout. I think people want to live for more than just surviving financially. Just my opinion.

Productivity has been bad because business owners refused to invest in technology. They got Ottawa to import slave labour instead. Suppressed wages meant no need or pressure to improve productivity. Canadian rentiers can leave, as the benefit they provide is questionable. They won’t leave because their family, friends and business connections are here.

It got bad because because wages were suppressed by some businesses. Even the new-comers figured out they were getting underpaid and eventually became less productive too. We have been in a cycle were the labor force has become increasingly financially strained, unable to take time off, and burned out. Now add in the social media and the fact that our labor force is very well informed of labor laws and conditions in other countries or finds they do not have enough time to see their friends or families overseas. Who would not become burned out and unproductive if they were in that situation? Just my opinion.

boomers capital gains tax credit was $1,000,000, which was roughly 4x the value of the average home. Our present capital gains credit is $250,000, which ironically is down to 1/4th of the value of our average homes now. And now with this 50% to 67%, a reasonable scenario of that increase is likely to equate to a quarter to a third of the average middle class income, (Just the increase alone). This credit has been depreciating worse than a car purchase over the last 40 years. Any claim to this being 'for the rich' is the most hollow proposition. Its most definately very 'inclusive' of the middle class now. But I guess that's 'on brand' for this government.

All this is doing is further ensuring that you will never be able to attain wealth. The mega corps are a problem but why do you think they are like that? It's because of excessive government intervention and regulation that no one can compete with them. The only way to keep them in check is to compete with them.
