The standing ovation is a historical moment for the Temple Square. It had not happened before mid-concert. Not only was Sissel taken aback by the audience response but the conductor climbs up onto his podium to do the next song but has to step down to let her receive her dues when he realizes what's happening. Of all the singers I listen to, Siss is an oddity. Not a weirdo but an unusual alignment of talents/gifts in one being. I have studied her for years to figure her and I still find the jury out. She doesn't push to achieve her potential. Absolute fame & lots of dosh don't seem to matter. She takes career risks, not least with the singing of faith songs. She stays interesting even after 4 decades.
