When asked as to which of Courtney's recent four covers is my favorite, my answer is always 'The Last One I Listened to'. They are all just so incredibly good and each has their own character. How can you possibly choose. However, if someone held my feet to the fire and forced me to pick, I would say 'Someone You Loved'. The passion, intensity and rawness with which she sings this song seems to come from some deep primal place that only few can ever reach. I don't know how Courtney does what she does at 15, but I haven't seen a performer in over a half a century that can take my soul to places she can when she sings.

And to me, Ed, that performer in the last 50 years was Elvis. I really view Courtney as the contemporary female Elvis. No one will ever have the total impact on music Elvis had, but Courtney has the potential to come as close as anyone could with a very significant impact!

The thing that made Elvis so great is that he invented his own musical genre. He sounded like no one before him but has since been copied by untold thousands. You can see the same thing with Courtney. If you recall that short clip of original music that she released on her Instagram channel several months back, I come to a similar conclusion. It defies inclusion in any known genre of music. It is certainly not classic rock. Nor is it blues, funk or R&B. If this is a sample of what we have in store from Courtney, she will be the second person I've seen in my lifetime create a yet to be known style of music all her own.

This was my favourite cover of the 4 by far! Currently she is 15 and will be 16 on 6th of July. However when she recorded these 4 covers she was still 14.

Well between Angelina and Courtney we together are witnessing the resurgence of music from 40’s through the 80’s and beyond. You can feel the emotions coming through them. Both have stated they go to a different place when they sing. Both started singing at around four years old. Both listened to music sung many years before their time.Both have a large collection of covers from the time they were six to seven to the present. Both command the stage. Courtney is now sixteen and Angelina is 14 Both are destined to become mega stars. Both are unique. I am just sorry I am 78 and will not be around to see them progress. I am happy that you found them

Angelina Jordan the most cute, beautiful and talented singer in the Universe + the Moon can touch not only your heart.. also your dream and soul. Both are special child. hahaha!

She finally got enough confidence to not have to do all that dancing around and just let her voice shine. Which it is in 50,000 mega-watt light it all up shine!!!!! If your not crying after that I question you having a heart!! She has IT, just with her voice, she has IT!!!!! I am anxious to see what she does next. Thanks for your reaction it was great.

I don't think it is just a confidence thing, David. Courtney just has many sides. She can do soft ballads which she used to do when very young, and then she discovered the energy of rock and roll and its movements. She can combine the 2 and do songs with a still, burning passion or scorch the stage as she lets loose. So I think she's a complete entertainer who can do it all! Reminds me of a female Elvis Presley; he could sing soft and slow, as emotionally as anybody, but then he could also really move it.

Great reaction. This was my favorite of the four on Courtney's "Cover Sessions" EP. Her voice just pulls you in and makes you feel every emotion in the lyrics. Courtney had a live session on Instagram on Thursday. After the live session, she stayed on Instagram and answered even more questions. One question was what four songs she would included if there were a 2nd "Cover Sessions" EP. Courtney's response was: "this we actually thought about doing because of Covid but just fell through last minute. Would have to go old school 1. Jumping jack flash. 2.try a little tenderness. 3.stay with me baby. 4.with a little help from my friends". OMG, can you imagine Courtney covering those four songs.

If you go to her last instagram post, you''ll see the exchanges. in a previous life, I was a researcher, so I cycled through the posts and found a couple of interesting tidbits including the stuff about a 2nd "Cover Sessions" and the current status of her album.

Rick, thanks for that info. Courtney has been on Jumpin Jack Flash for awhile now, and she would just kill it. She needs to do some covers like those 4 because it seems it will be some time before her album drops, and she needs to feed her fans meanwhile! The Twitter and Instagram tidbits are good, but professional recording with top musicians show her real potential🤩

@@rickpyzyna1485 You must have been one helluva researcher because the way Instagram is set up on PC anyway it's a nightmare to search for any comments after the fact. I tried reading through all the comments and replies and could not find that one. After reading through a bunch I started seeing repeat comments cycling through again and then again a 3rd time. Unfortunately this has happened to often for me on Instagram so I tend to read for 15 minutes before giving up. The phone app may be better because I noticed they are set up a little differently. But I just can't focus on the small scale of a cell phone for any length of time. lol Old worn out eyes. But thank you for that info. And lets hope theirs more coming our way. Not sure she would be able to get together with anyone right now but it could happen. Or theirs always sharing wav tracks through the internet somehow. Not sure how video sharing would work though.

@@rickrhoden1 I totally agree about doing Jumpin Jack Flash. I too thought about her doing it and hear her singing it in my head clearly lol. She would most definitely kill it. And I'm also with you on professional recordings being the best. Although once she get that studio up and running and she learns it. Her own recordings could be close enough to professional as we need to hear. Videos I don't know much. That's for people in the know which I'm not. Be a nice treat though. I don't see this virus thing allowing get togethers especially concerts to happen to soon. Unless some break through happens.

There has been something special about Courtney even at a younger age. Check out a couple of in studio covers with "Red Dreams" at 10 or 11 years old. Elvis's "Can't Help Falling in Love" or Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror". Be forewarned you might have tears in your eyes again.

Glad you did that one and got the earbuds; I hadn't realized you might not be getting the best audio. Courtney was still 14 when she recorded those. Only the best of the best can wring the emotion from a song, even without the requisite life experience. You already have links to her AGT audition which is legendary and set a record for AGT views. Do that one, then her only original so far, Pretty Little Thing, also with a link. Then so much more! BTW, I know you listened to Angelina sing that song, and, without necessarily picking a favorite, I wonder if you would describe their different styles and the type response you had to each🤔

Her original “ pretty little thing” is awsome and there’s two versions she does of it, the AGT rocked up version and a slower melodic one in a studio, both awsome in different ways, she even covers her own songs, genius, stay safe my man

Her beautiful vocals mixed with her raw grityness and dynamics has changed my feeling on ballads. She does them like some old rock legends. Not so much from the words. The lyrics most definitely help one feel the meaning of the song, but when a guitarist or sax guy plays, especially a lead, he doesn't need to know the words. He just has to feel the notes. There's many very young blues guitarists on KZread now who get the comment all the time about not being able to play with feel without experiencing pain and years of trauma. But yet when you hear them play you can't deny them that compliment of being a real blues player. So I'm always replying to those comments that you don't need to go through pain and hard times to feel it. You just have to have a real love for music. And Courtney has that. If you get to watching her live chat videos, you'll see how she changes once the music starts as she sings to us over the internet live. The missing sound quality due to the phone recording doesn't matter. You watch her and you can hear her bring joy to herself and to others. Only the really good ones can do that. It's so cool to watch her transform in an instant when she goes from talking to us and then singing to us.

@@kimjensen7607 , she's has the whole package. also but can't show it because of her up-bringing..Norwegians are reserved people..cool..beside, her Mother,grandma and uncle/manager will not allow her to act like Courtney because she's only 13 years old. Norway also have strict law above the teens. The advantage of Courtney are her contract to big music producer. She's an American..big market. Angelina parents will not allow somebody to use her.Even Angelina does not become a big star for now. They value her childhood. Yeah, we will hear a lot from them in the future. I hope for the best to this two talented singers.
