Hi Brandon. Another great, insightful reaction to Courtney. So glad that you got to see another facet of the brilliant diamond that Courtney's artistry truly is. So many people who just knew Courtney from AGT, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she most certainly is. However, she is so, so much more. She has one of the most versatile and beautiful voices in all of music. Not just rock, but ballads (as you see here), R&B, Funk, Soul and more. The incredible thing is that, across so many genres, there is no loss to the fabulous quality of her music or vocals. Her transitions between genres are seamless and exquisite. When those of us who follow Courtney say that she can sing anything and do it better than anyone else, there is no hyperbole there. She really can. She even had a short opera clip go viral on TikTok. Combine the power, control, versatility and beauty of her voice with her ability to dominate a stage, her terrific skills as a guitarist and the fact that she is a powerhouse as a song writer and there is no doubt that Courtney is truly a generational talent and, in many of our views, the artist of a lifetime. This song was part of a 4 song EP that Courtney released. As I mentioned earlier, since most knew her as this great rocker from AGT, but not the full range of her talent, this EP was released to highlight Courtney's tremendous vocal versatility as well as her unmatched creativity. She took recent massive hit songs, across multiple genres, and re-invented them as her own. you always need to be familiar with the original when listening to a Courtney cover, because Courtney's version will never sound anything like the original. It makes what she does with the song even more amazing. I've put two links below as options for future reactions, which are the remaining songs from Courtney's 4 song EP that you have yet to react to. The first is another beautiful ballad like this one, but with a touch of the signature Courtney grit. I think she shows so much of her range and transitioning skills in this one. The second is a pop song that she turns into a funk masterpiece. Great reaction Brandon!🤝 Thank you very much! One small correction - Courtney doesn't "respect" music - she just breathes music. I don't "respect" the air - I just can't live without it. She doesn't get into the role and doesn't try to please us, but just gives her body to the music, and she doesn't care what she looks like when she sings. I love it!😍 Courtney has an incredible sense of composition, as if someone from heaven is telling her how exactly a song should sound. After Courtney, I just got bored listening to many performers, with rare exceptions. Sorry, I used an auto-translator.😔 Please let me give you a little advice - you will get more pleasure from Courtney if you go back to the chronological order and watch her live performances on AGT and on AGT Champions before the last covers: Courtney Hadwin sings “Born To Be Wild” SIMON LOVES IT Semi-Finals 2 America's Got Talent 2018 AGT - kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4RprNxyg5XUc7Q.html Courtney Hadwin Brings ROCKER STYLE To Tina Turner Song On AGT Finales | America's Got Talent 2018 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4KduJOAmqybpMo.html Courtney Hadwin: Shy Rocker Girl Is Back With SHOCKING Performance | America's Got Talent: Champions - kzread.info/dash/bejne/foKe25mIabS-n5s.html

With your comments at 5:00 you pretty much nailed it. Courtney lives in the moment musically. Probably life in general. There's no better place to be than in the moment, regardless of the emotions life brings you. She recorded these covers in that back room studio at age 14 and release them one at a time after she turned 15 that summer of 2019. She mentioned she picked each or these 4 cover songs to show there's much more to her than what people saw from her stint on AGT, which sling-shotted her to fame around the world and gave her a recording contract. From what I've noticed in the passed 4 to 5 years is Courtney has the ability to very quickly learn how to progress in her craft and in how to progress in her interactions with the public. I doubt she has many limitations in what she's capable of. That's why I feel she could be the next big artist and even possibly a legend one day if today's listeners are open to her different style from all other artist's. Her ability to make an audience emotionally connected is insane at such a young age. For any age really. How many artists have that ability? I know of maybe one other today in Beth Hart. I'm sure there's got to be more, but Courtney was doing this at 9 years of age and only gets better with time. It should be mentioned that Courtney has some acting experience which has probably taught her how to be so in the moment. She played Cosette in Les Miserables back in 2014 at age 9 or 10 I believe. So young. www.pinterest.com/pin/courtney-hadwin-as-cosette-in-les-miserables-school-play-2014--832603049837395188/ The other 2 covers on her channel from this mini EP, "Cover Sessions", she release back in 2019 are well worth a watch too. She took a pop song by the Jonas Brothers "Sucker" and made it into a funky rock song with lots of attitude and movement and also covered Lewis Capaldi's hit song "Someone You Loved" which is performed just as emotionally as this ballad here was by Courtney. Hope to see more Courtney from you. She will always give any music lover something to look forward to.

Thanks for another thoughtful, enlightening reaction, Brandon! One of many amazing things about Courtney is how she actually feels what she emotes (here at only 14) without the requisite experience one would expect. She does what great actors can do by transporting her whole being into the character of the song, which you describe in various ways. In those same VEVO "Cover Sessions" her version of Someone You Loved, to me, best demonstrates to date the emotion she conveys and thereby elicits from the invested listener. Stay with Courtney as you watch a superstar develop!

Although I enjoy watching how others are blown away by Courtney’s voice your reactions have depth and knowledge behind them. I have been an unwavering fan of Courtney’s since she was on AGT. Thanks for a well thought out, articulate reaction to Courtney. I, and many of the other people commenting here, have been following her since her AGT debut and many of us have gone back to her performances in the UK before she ever came to America. She was on The Voice - Kids UK when she was 12 and it was obvious to everyone, inculding the judges, she was special and destined for stardom. Combine her extraordinary talent with her undeniable charisma and you have the recipe for a world-class star. Hopefully she will be able to release her first album by the end of this year - and it's been a long time coming. The COVID quarantine didn't help her (other than she learned to play the guitar during that time) and I believe she's had some record company issues. She originally signed with Simon Cowell's Syco Records with a distribution deal with Arista. Subsequent to that, however, Syco was sold to Sony and Simon bowed out of participating in the operation. Since Simon signed Courtney, however, I wouldn't be surprised if when Syco was sold and Simon left the company that gave Courtney's management an opportunity to get out of that record deal and make a new, and richer, deal with Sony based upon the social media buzz and number of views and followers she's gotten. I don't know this for certain but from what I've been able to find online and in comments by Courtney, that's how it appears to me. She recently travelled to Pittsburgh (of all places) to meet her new "team" which I believe could be a backup band. If that's true she could be getting ready for a record release and a concert tour in the not too distant future. I believe she will be playing live at some festival in Austria next month and hopefully there will be come video online of that performance. With respect to her age, she became 18 years old in July and recently celebrated in a kareoke restaurant/bar in Turkey where she sang Proud Mary and was, of course, brilliant. You might want to take a look at it as it is completely unreheased and live. For me, the sooner she get's out of the studio and onto the road the better. I also hope her record release will have tie-ins to big cosmetic companies and fashion labels. She deserves all of the promotion she can get because once people see and hear Courtney, they can never forget her.

@@zoranmaksic123 I don't know why she hasn't been released yet either, but I still feel very confident in their plan for her. I've heard many reason why timing is everything, especially for a new artist. I wish we knew more, but I look a how she's been calmly interacting with fans with either her short singing clips or fun trends, etc, and she looks very happy. That's important for anyone. Fans will wait for her because her musical genius is worth waiting for from what I've seen. The bigger thing is most anyone who has seen her is in awe of her talent. From the average Joe to the biggest of stars. We all know she's just GOT IT. If for some reason she don't go over well with the masses, I'll be in shock and realize that something is terribly wrong in the music audience today. But either way she'll still have a huge following.

Considering that she was only 14 at the time, she shows a level of maturity, skill, class and emotional maturity that is well beyond her years. Normally I do not believe in resurrection, but she really seems like she has an 'old soul'. I can guarantee that when I was her age, I was nowhere near her level of personal growth. She truly is a once in a generation performer.
