Hey guys! Thanks for watching this reaction! I took a look in my archives and discovered that I actually have seen this show, but only two episodes. I don’t know WHY I stopped. Maybe my interest were different back then, but we getting back in this train. Here are the reactions to the first two episodes if you wanna watch it. I will pick it back up from here once I rewatch them. See you guys next reaction! Fun fact this song was originally written and composed years ago by a FAN Paranoid DJ, and the lyrics were slightly changed here to fit current canon better. Many complain how Paranoid DJ’s original was smoother but the VA Bryce Pinkman definitely leaned toward more emotional. I think both versions are amazing in their own right!! The MV also has a lot of symbolism, which is in line with the context of the show like why Stolas the singer here sings to the moon. I’d highly recommend watching the show!

You should definitely check out the Helluva Boss series, highly recommended! It’s got some stellar animation and musical moments, the cast can be really enjoyable at times as well Once you’ve gotten context and relistened/rewatched this, it makes this song more beautiful and depressing than it is already. I remember when this dropped and I was just sobbing during and after my listen/watch, and I don’t cry often to fictional media

The series was in production through the pandemic. And as Broadway was effectively shut down during the time they were able to get a lot of main line talent from the stage. There are a lot of stelar voice cast members that perform amazing songs in the series. In fact the series sort of exploded after Bryce sang his first song for the series in the second episode. It more or less broke the internet with the response to the sudden amazing song that came from the funny bird demon. Definitely check the series out and know that technically Helluva Boss is the production groups side project with another series Hazbin Hotel as their main project. Hazbin got picked up by a major studio A24 and they got the budget they needed to do a major workup. And its done with production and will be showing in Prime starting in January.

Fun fact: this wasn't actually created by vivzie and her crew. Song was originally made by paranoid dj couple years ago and was amazingly accurate as came out before certain episodes. however, when they made this fan song something official to the show, some of the lyrics were changed to better fit the current happenings of the show. If you would like to rewatch it but have captions on showing current lyrics to dissect or just let them hit you even more in the feels, Ayy lmao uploaded vid with lyrics on their channel. Also, totally worth restarting series at beginning and continuing on. There are some episodes that aren't everyones cup of tea but none of them are bad. Once you do the watch through, would highly recommend relistening and watching this music vid (regardless if it is in free time or break down either is fine)

funnnily enough this song was created by a fan of the animation series, Paranoid DJ. They originally made the song over a year ago. They then were approached by Vivzie to adapt the song into the animation series. Paranoid DJ and Vivzie worked together, changing the lyrics to make the song cannon. They then got the voice actor of Stolas, Bryce Pinkham, to sing the song. Bryce's voice really fits the song

Helluva Boss is definitely something interesting to watch musically and also storytelling wise. While I will warn you that it is a bit crass at times...okay its got an edgy teenager curse streak to it but it actually has allot to say about actual adult stuff under its edgy teenager facade.

@whatitdodave - I seriously appreciate the fact you had no context and yet felt all the emotions Bryce Pinkham put into his voice while singing this song. I also love how soft you spoke and how you did not talk over the singing like many reaction videos to this song have done. You APPRECIATED the music and the vocals! The fan who wrote and originally sang this song, Paranoid DJ, also worked on the sound design for the video and commented on how some of the sounds they used were difficult to find. It is a magical realm Stolas the Owl steps into, where his job is to read the signs and portents in the stars, and Paranoid DJ made it all that more magical with their mad sound/music skills.

Even if it's not something you think you want on your channel, the show is worth watching on your own time if for no other reason than to get the context of the song because there's quite a lot in the video like the significance of the crystal at the beginning that you'll only understand after watching the show (or someone spoils you in the comments but I won't be doing that). It's also just a great show and the animation quality improves a lot as the episodes progress; it's always been good even way back when it was just a pilot, but it gets so much better. Also, the song was originally a fanmade song that Viv made official. Some of the lyrics were changed to fit the canon setting, but Paranoid DJ's version is still worth listening to.

Around the midway point you said this was made by the official people, but actually the song and lyrics were made by Paranoid DJ about 2 years prior. They just made the animation and had Bryce sing in Stolas' voice (and changed some parts to shorten the song and make it fit within the lore). But yeah, Vivzie does this where fan songs become canon

The series keeps evolving and getting better. It quickly moved from being about Murder Inc. and more about the relationships going on between various characters. It's easily one of the best animated series running. You could watch the last episode (season 2 episode 7) as a standalone. It's a musical episode and you'd get to hear some of the other amazing voice talent they have.

Very good reaction. Love how you were really focused on the vocals. I guess there's something to say for not having context to one thing or another and finding out what you can glean from just the vocals and emotions in the music. You mentioned MLP had a lot of fan music and stuff in the show? Never watched it, so take your word on that, but to the topic at hand... This is a fan made song as well. Paranoid DJ created this song like 2 years ago and Vivian (Vivziepop) actually animated this amv and made it soft cannon to the show. She's only done that with one other song for Hazbin Hotel, "Addict", created by Silvahound.

This was super fun for you to react to! I would love to see reactions to the show from you. I will warn you, the show itself has a lot of adult humor and swearing. Oh, and violence. It's about demons and imps in hell. The main imps are assassins that go to Earth and kill people that dead sinners put hits on. It's a bit outrageous. But it has a ridiculous amount of heart, too. Especially as we get to know the characters and the story is fleshed out. The animation is also just so good and it keeps getting better! The voice actors are amazing! Real talent, all around. Did you watch Invader Zim? Richard Horvitz is one of the imps in the series and oversees a lot of the voice acting. Many of the VAs are from Broadway and things like that. James Monroe Iglehart, the original Genie from the Broadway's version of Aladdin is in it. So is Alex Brightman, Broadway's Beetlejuice.

Please watch the show this song oddly hits the fans deep because of the context we have. Its definitely able to choke people up and maybe even cry.

It shows Stolas's vulnerabilities and heartache in a realm that was not meant to accommodate or care about either. And especially not meant to care about emotions like love.

I highly recommend watching the show, it is amazing and it would just add so much more emotion to the song once you know what it’s supposed to mean. I’d tune in every time to see you react to it, which I hope you do end up being able to do

You should check out the series. This music video would hit so much harder if you knew the story. The animation for helluva boss was already pretty good in the first season, but they really ramped up the production for season 2, and all the songs are bangers, not to mention the story is very good for a KZread animated series. I think you would enjoy it, and I would definitely watch it if you reacted to the series in full. Also, here’s some context. That’s Stolas, a prince from hell. He is in love with another character, Blitz, the imp you see depicted in this song. Blitz’s view and understanding of Stolas and his feelings is complicated to say the least. I won’t go into too much detail, in case you end up watching the series yourself, but let’s just say they have an interesting and complex relationship. Hopefully they work things out and can be happy.

Please react to the series! Also, you should know that the song was originally fan made. Viv liked it so much she adapted to make it cannon for the show.
