John is a family name for me too-goes back generations on both sides. Both my brother(who us named John)and I have old-fashioned names...but his is a family name and mine is utterly unique!

Our 14 week old baby is Eloise. It's what my Dad wanted to name me but my mum disliked it. My mum passed 4 weeks before we found out we were expecting baby number 3. We didn't tell anyone her name until she was 3 days old and my Dad said "I finally have my Eloise after 30 years" It made me cry

I’d love to see a video of completely unranked names! I know you have a lot of unusual baby name videos but I think a video of super rare and unranked names would be so cool

I’ve heard boys called Casey and even Tracy, which for me are very feminine names. Ashley is quite feminine too, but girls called this usually have a different spelling (Ashleigh) which differentiates it a bit.

Saggy Old Bagpuss But even the names you mentioned started out as boy names first. It as if people are ok with their daughters having strong masculine names but feminine names (and the feminine connotations that come with it) are bad and unwanted on a boy. I’d like to see some names that contradict that. Names that haven’t started out as boy names or unisex names.

I’m loving these names! I think the name “Vignette” would pair with many of the names here! I had never heard it until Amazon’s show Carnival Row but I love it!

I loved this video, thank you! My daughter has a little boy due January 3 called Sage August!! We are all so excited to meet him. August is for my Grandfather ( He has always been called Augie or Gus) Funny how names seem to always come back around. I’m called Nora and I never met another until recently where I’ve heard Mum’s in shops calling/speaking to their little Noras. So cool!

Honestly I’ve always had quite a tough time with names, I’ve loved the idea of writing lists of names I like but I’ve never actually liked the names I’ve found, only like a couple. But there’s something about your accent and the enthusiasm you have when you speak these names that just makes me like them and it’s crazy! Watching your videos makes me like a lot of names I don’t think I’d have liked if I’d just read them somewhere!

A little late to the party as I just stumbled across your *amazing* vidoes. I've always been so obsessed with names! Someone chose the name Tess, and for some reason I know it's probably strange and "smoosh-like" but I love, love, LOVE the idea of the name Tessandra for a little girl! (Honestly I love all -ander/andra names... ie Zander, Cassandra, Lysander, Melisandre which I doubt I could ever use cause of the GoT character, even though I personally think she is a very captivating, complex, and misunderstood character)

I'm pregnant myself and we've picked soooo many girl names: Aurora, Maisie, Aelita, and Lunette for example. We only have Atlas, Miko, Jasper, and Orion for a boy.

I always feel like a bit of a celeb when you mention my choices 🤣 You mentioned me on your recent “naming viewers babies”, to help me find a brother name for Hugo, and again in this video as we have chosen Primrose if this baby is a girl. She will be nicknamed Posy. If it’s a boy, I think we have finally agreed on Arthur - I know it is extremely popular but we both love it and think that it works well with big brother Hugo. Hi from Kansas City, SJ! Love your videos. The hubs and I have not yet started having babies but thanks to your channel I’ve got a list a mile long! Your videos are just so fun and relaxing! I’ve really been loving the name Marigold lately for a little girl and her nickname could be Goldie. But our last name is Graham and Golden Grahams are a snack (maybe a cereal?) here in the US. We also love the name Theodore with Teddy for a nickname but Teddy Grahams are a snack as well - how cute and absurd would those little snack babies be!

Shea Bowen Nice surname. Yes it’s interesting how most first names today started as surnames - John, Jacob, Harrison etc etc all were surnames.

I have always been obsessed with the beauty of names! My favorite girl names are Aria, Ivory, Amelia, Mary-Jane, Taliea(tah-Lee-uh), Merideth, and McKinley. My favorite boy names are Elijah John(Eli or EJ for short), Leland(Lee), Langdon and Tate.

I missed the community post! My 2yr old girl is Rosalind and my 2 month old boy is Robin. They are my favourite names for sure! Both nature names, literary/Shakespeare names with matching beginning sounds. Fun to see Elora on the list! My parents were going to name me Elora (the idea came from the film Willow, I think) but changed their minds in hospital. I've never heard of or met anyone with that name!

My youngest niece was recently named Marceline and we nicknamed her Marcie

Anderson is my favorite name! I plan to use it when I have my first child, boy or girl. Then nickname then either Anders for a boy or Andie for a girl.

Just so you know, people cant comprehend the name Anders - my boyfriend is named Anders (Danish) and he HATES being overseas with his name - he gets Andres, Endres, Andy, Andrew, Edis (?), Anna (?!) and the list continues 😂 he always tries to say "like Anderson without the on" and they never get it. So if youre not Scandi, I wouldnt recommend 😅

Great vid as usual. My list is full of girls names, but I have always struggled with names for boys so this list has helped a lot. I used to love the name Max, but my other half's surname is Payne, which has put me off completely. And when I told him I really liked the name Delilah, all he said was "why, why, why?" 😂

Tadhg is sometimes pronounced Teeg, spelled most commonly Teague. Still same meaning, the poet. Teague is my maiden name. I’ve also heard it pronounced Tig. Short i sound.
