In 2019 I started losing interest in Taylor after the release of Lover, but when she came back full force in 2020 with folklore and evermore and in 2021 with Red tv I started stanning her even more than before (1989 and rep era). I had huge expectations for Midnights and the whole rocky 70s grunge aesthetic, but I was left completely disappointed. It’s been 2 month and I don’t listen to the album anymore already. It’s not that bad (although Vigilante Shit is really really bad imo) but it feels so rushed and feels like she mainly cared for the money and not the art this time. Also I’m a huge Lana fan and was disappointed by the collab 🥲

@@paolo2411 couldn't agree more. Part of me thinks she actually shot herself in the foot with folklore and evermore because they were just SO good anything that comes after will likely pale in comparison. And weirdly enough I feel the same with Lana after NFR. NFR and Ultraviolence are my favorites from her but NFR is just on another level. I like Chemtrails now, but I was underwhelmed at first. And Blue Banisters I never listen to other than Wildflower Wildfire. The new single she just released sounds exactly like Blue Banisters so I'm super disappointed. But yea, I was also super underwhelmed with Snow On The Beach. Midnights in general felt like a massive step backwards, musically and lyrically.

@@0485dlp I totally agree. Also with the Lana thing. I honestly liked Chemtrails as soon as it came out but NFR was just on another level. BB was a disappointment and it just feels like a collection of old and new songs and I don’t really see a concept behind it. I have faith in her 2023 album tho. I like the vibe the cover art gives off and the first single is not NFR level good but it is still very good. Let’s just hope Taylor and Lana continue collaborating and offer us a real collab not just backing vocals

I really like her long hair, mostly styled like in the directors video. She is very tall so I always thought that it made more sense to compliment her long vertical line. And I completely agree, the DA/academia cottagecore/parisian styles with a long jumper and a skirt underneath were my favourite styles of the year, generally I think she is heading in the right direction since folklore. She seems so confident and like curious about the film making and as though she has found a new challenge. That’s good because she needs different ways of getting creative I think, so that she doesn’t get tired of the music industry and I’m also really looking forward to the influence her different creative outlets are gonna take on each other

Judge me but Red era was everything to me... Her look, vintage and índie was everything. I dont agree with her being so Hard on herself saying she was using old ladys dresses when she was 23.. That style should come back being a trend because it used to bring such a mature vibe for her. It was Definitely The best.

Omg the early and late Red era were so incredible, January-July 2014 was especially pleasing to me

I really love the cozy girl chic/ dark academia vibe she has going on. I really hope she keeps leaning into that in 2023.

The bejewelled draped dress and bejewelled green skirt we got this year were my favourite glamorous looks ever and most memorable. Love seeing her shine in this era. I was really into the 70s outfit styling for midnights even though it kinda miss lead me with the vibe of the music. The Mirror ball outfit definitely deserved a moment.

I thought Midnights definitely had a seventies vibe sonically.

Besides her music and very controlled film q&as/interviews, Taylor's rare candids and hostage videos (aka thank you videos) are quite frankly how we get a sense of who Taylor is as a person anymore. Private queen. Customs aside, the problem with the fit of Taylor's clothes is Joseph Cassell pulls Sample Size items (aka size 0-2) clothes. Samples are thrown around by brands to stylists; celebrities are expected to fit the size 0-2 samples. Fit problems with samples is often a major problem for celebrities.

That last look is a complete SLAYYYY!!!!

While I didn’t hate the houndstooth suit quite as much as you did, I agree it’s way too much. I don’t hate the print, but having such a busy print in high contrast black and white cover her body from her chin to her ankles is a headache and a half. The outfit needs some element to break it up, even if it’s just her skin from a much lower neckline or a high hemline if she was wearing that print as a skirt instead of pants. Since the turtleneck was the element that I disliked the most, I’d want that switched out for a black or deep colored top (wouldn’t want a bright color here IMO with the print already so eye catching) or even ditch a shirt entirely and go for that sexy blazer-as-a shirt look with a necklace. With the shirt gone or switched out, she can keep the pants and blazer together if she wants to though I agree that she’s probably best with switching out the pants as well.

I would like to know in short what your thoughts were on MMwM outfits. I feel they were misleading to the vibe of the album. Dark pop is really not translated in most of the outfits. My favorites were probably the Karma and Lavender Haze outfits. From the red carpet/out on the town looks that happened I would say my favourites were the EMA's outfits. I actually kinda like the straight down bangs look, especially with dark eye makeup. My least favorite would probably have to be the Tribeca look, (I guess I just don't like vertical striped outfits) or the VMA's looks. I wish it was a sparkly blue dress instead of silver stars, and the hair isn't it for me.

I agreed with a lot of what you said other than that the black cut outty dress was sooooooo nice on her! Maybe the other elements (hair, etc) brought it down a notch but the dress itself I really liked. Then where you like the loose flow pants, those are the moments I'm like "whaaaaaat?" don't get it haha, not a fan.

lollll fashion is truly very subjective

i think if the AMA jumpsuit was a wide or straight instead of tapered it might have looked like it fit her better around the hips. for the EMAs (i am a dancer) i think the leo under the skirt would have looked sooo amazing with a higher cut to make the legs even longer!! i always hike my leos up in ballet for that reason my favorite look has to be VMAs because it’s iconic or joes premiere because she looks so good in a blazer!

Oh wow I actually really liked the 9:00 fit! Maybe not the best hair, but I like the outfit.

Her leotard and chain skirt thing is such a slay, the girls look amazing but her whole body looks so amazing and not just super skinny but like, strong and healthy and glowing, makeup is fierce, personally thought her hair was perfect for that look as well.. I actually think it's like the best she's ever looked and possibly her best look ever which I know is saying a lot 😅 also the bejewelled mini dress thing was a moment! Looked too good! Only thing was her hair and makeup was a bit iffy but not enough to take away from how good the look is
